"I, I wasn’t paying attention!"

The Monkey shrank his neck, having truly not considered the problem with it being overcast.

"What should we do now?

I wanted to show off in front of Liu ngting, but now it’s all gone to waste!" Chen Cang gritted his teeth as he spoke.

"Start a fire manually, ours is multi-functional."

Shi Xiaojun hurriedly whispered a reminder.

Chen Cang breathed a sigh of relief and said with feigned calm, "We can’t use the solar power for now, but we can still do it manually, I’ll get the fire started right away!"

"Well, hurry up then, if ng ng goes hungry, can you afford the responsibility?"

Li Xiaoli scread fiercely.

"Stop always bringing up!"

While arranging things, Liu ngting gave Li Xiaoli an annoyed glare.

"Dead fly just wants to perform in front of you, bringing you up works better indeed!"

Li Xiaoli sneered mischievously.

Tang Ming, sitting between Xia Wei’er and Zhou Dafu, picked vegetables while lanting, "This is so sad!"

"How does this thing even work?"

Chen Cang stared blankly at the charcoal in the stove and a small bunch of dry grass, having generally not needed to handle such tasks himself, so he was unaware of the specific steps.

"I tried it yesterday, you just rub the dry grass on this heating plate and it will catch fire."

The Monkey explained as if offering a treasure.

"Then I’ll do it myself!"

Chen Cang, wanting to make an impression, took matters into his own hands and didn’t forget to look up and say to Liu ngting, "Just a mont, it will be ready soon!"

"Hurry up!"

Liu ngting was genuinely hungry.

"Oh my God, she actually spoke to voluntarily!"

Chen Cang was thrilled inside, frantically rubbing the dry grass on the solar heating plate.

Normally, with solar power, the temperature of the heating plate would exceed the ignition point of the dry grass, and the grass would start burning with just a bit of friction but now... there’s no sun!

A few minutes later, Chen Cang’s hands were nearly worn raw, yet not a single spark had appeared.

"You two idiots, co help !"

Chen Cang glared furiously at the Monkey and Shi Xiaojun.

"I’ll do it, I’ll do it."

The Monkey hurried forward to take over for Chen Cang, but it was still of no use.

"Brother Cang, if it doesn’t work we should try fire by friction, okay?"

Shi Xiaojun leaned close to Chen Cang and whispered, "If we can’t get it today, getting embarrassed is the least of our worries, starving will be the real disaster."

"Then why aren’t you getting so wood!"

Chen Cang’s voice coldly commanded.

"Alright!"

Shi Xiaojun imdiately disappeared to look for wood.

"Should we find so flint too?"

Li Xiaoli mocked in a sarcastic tone.

"Good idea! Monkey, go find two rocks."

Chen Cang’s eyes lit up, and he imdiately kicked the Monkey to actually go find stones.

"Right away."

The Monkey, fingers sore from rubbing, ran off as if relieved of a heavy burden.

"Don’t you guys smoke, don’t you know to use a lighter?"

Seeing Chen Cang create so much fuss over starting a fire, Tang Ming, unable to restrain himself any longer, reminded him.

"Hmph, I hate smokers the most!"

Liu ngting muttered to herself with a cold huff.

Hearing this, Chen Cang imdiately shook his head and looked at Liu ngting ingratiatingly, "I quit smoking a long ti ago, I have no lighter."

"Enough chatter, hand over the lighter!"

Tang Ming stood up and walked over to Chen Cang.

"Stop kidding, I don’t smoke. Where would I have a lighter?"

Chen Cang shouted incoherently.

Tang Ming curled his lips, swiftly reached into Chen Cang’s pocket, and pulled out a lighter, "Is this your grandpa’s?"

"I..."

Chen Cang smiled awkwardly.

Tang Ming skillfully ignited the straw with the lighter and then started to burn the charcoal. All the preparations for the barbecue were completed.

"Cang, I found the stuff!"

Just at that mont, two monkeys holding sticks and Shi Xiaojun carrying stones hurried back.

"If you had a lighter, why didn’t you bring it out sooner? We had to wait for so long. Are you guys idiots or what?"

Li Xiaoli scolded with a speechless expression.

Everyone else couldn’t help but look down on them.

Chen Cang looked at his two henchn who indeed looked like idiots, gritted his teeth and scolded, "Put those things down now, you’re embarrassing us!"

The monkeys and Xiaojun quickly discarded the things they were carrying to start a fire, thinking dejectedly: We were so focused on solar stuff, we forgot we had lighters on us.

"I’m so pissed. How do I even know these two idiots? They made lose face in front of Liu ngting."

Chen Cang paced back and forth, fuming, and silently vowed, "I’ll have to show off on the barbecue. I researched online all night. I’m definitely going to wow everyone’s taste buds."

As the charcoal grew hotter, a group of people started gathering around the grill to cook various foods, each holding a barbecue fork.

"Barbecuing is also a science. To cook delicious food, you need complete ingredients and precise control of the heat."

Chen Cang sat confidently on a folding chair, brushing sauce on the food in front of him while explaining the barbecue knowledge he had copied from the internet.

The monkeys and Xiaojun sat on either side of Chen Cang, assisting him, looking sowhat like grand masters themselves.

The others, seeing the dozen or so condints and sauces beside Chen Cang, were actually convinced by him.

"We’re finally about to eat!"

Tang Ming completely ignored what Chen Cang was saying, his eyes fixed on the pile of food in front of him. He continuously turned the food over with his chopsticks while dumping all sorts of seasonings on it.

"Tang Ming, this is barbecuing, not stir-frying. You’re making a big pot stew without any finesse!"

Chen Cang looked at Tang Ming with so disdain and taunted him.

"You don’t understand, this is how I eat! I dare to eat Poisonous Ganoderma, do you? You aren’t on my level, you can’t keep up with my realm!"

Tang Ming responded without looking up.

"Damn, you’re impressive!"

Chen Cang’s mouth twitched, and then he reached for a well-grilled chicken wing, offering it to Liu ngting in an appeasing manner, "ng Ting, let you be the first to taste this flavorful grilled wing of mine."

"I..."

Liu ngting was just about to speak, when Li Xiaoli snatched the chicken wing away.

"I’ll eat it, it looks pretty good."

Li Xiaoli hastily blew on the chicken wing and then couldn’t wait to take a bite, and then...

"Ptooey! What is this taste? It’s salty and spicy, and it’s not even cooked."

Li Xiaoli grimaced in pain, threw away the chicken wing, drank so water, and yelled furiously, "Damn fly, are you trying to poison sister ng ng?"

"Impossible, there’s nothing wrong with my procedure."

Chen Cang shouted confidently, thinking Li Xiaoli was just trying to give him a hard ti. He then picked up the chicken wing, took a bite, and then his entire face turned green.

"See? I didn’t lie, did I?"

Li Xiaoli asked bitterly, looking at Chen Cang’s face.

"Pfft!"

After holding it in for a few seconds, Chen Cang finally spat out the food, "Water, water please?"

"Here you go!"

Monkey hurriedly handed Chen Cang a bottle of mineral water, but he drank so hastily he spilled it all over himself.

"Haha, turns out you’re not a barbecue master, you’re just a big slob!"

Zhou Dafu couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
