"Who are you? What do you want with these questions?"
In the dim light, the elderly security guard couldn’t make out Lin Xue’s uniform clearly and asked warily in response.
Lin Xue took out her police badge from her pocket and spoke sternly, "I’m a police officer. You must not conceal anything when I ask you questions or else I’ll have to take you to the station for further investigation. Can you tell now where that black sports car went?"
"The sports car was driven away by a young guy; I couldn’t even stop him,"
the old security guard said with a troubled expression.
"A young guy? Is he from your school?"
Lin Xue imdiately suspected Tang Ming, always feeling that he couldn’t be unconnected to this incident.
"Yes, he’s from our school. I can’t quite rember his na,"
the old security guard said, a bit flustered, certain that an incident involving the car had occurred, which was why the police had co to him, and at his old age, he feared getting into trouble.
"Don’t panic; just listen to and see if it’s the sa person,"
Lin Xue thought for a mont then said, "There was an assault at noon at your school, do you rember it?"
"I rember, two were hurt, and one was caught. I was in the cafeteria eating at the ti, and when I heard sothing happened, I ran out to see what was going on,"
the old security guard suddenly ntioned, "Right, that young guy was the one who got arrested! He even said that he wasn’t afraid of the Ma Family... At first, I didn’t recognize him until he ntioned it himself, then I rembered!"
"Haha, it’s indeed Tang Ming."
Lin Xue snorted and said, "Rember to co to the police station tomorrow when you’re free and report what you know."
"Ah!"
The old security guard was startled and protested anxiously, "It isn’t my fault. It was really that young guy who drove it away, I don’t know anything about it."
"Alright, this matter isn’t much related to you, but you need to go and explain who drove the car away. Your current situation is, you saw soone stealing a car yet didn’t call the police. As a security guard, you should bear so responsibility. Go there and it will be considered atoning for your negligence!"
After saying this, Lin Xue got into the police car and drove off imdiately.
Early the next morning, Lin Xue waited at the station for the old security guard, and once he explained what had happened, Lin Xue identified Tang Ming as the suspect.
After preparations, Lin Xue took her colleagues straight to Tianjiao High School to bring Tang Ming back to the station for questioning.
In the police car, including Lin Xue and the driver, there were four people; behind them were two veteran police officers, one of whom, with bushy eyebrows and big eyes, spoke with a worried face:
"Lin Xue, is it really appropriate for us to rush into the school like this to arrest him?"
"Why wouldn’t it be appropriate? Didn’t I explain to you all before?"
Lin Xue, sitting in the passenger seat, turned and said, "Tang Ming is not only a suspect in this case, but he’s also connected to a previous assault case. Although there is no clear evidence to prove his guilt yet, we have a security guard’s testimony that the black Maserati was driven away by him, so there’s reason to suspect that he might be related to yesterday’s incident and at least responsible for stealing the car. Taking him in for questioning is completely justified."
"But Chief Zhou went to a eting early this morning and hasn’t returned yet; shouldn’t we wait for him to co back and discuss it further?"
The older police officer still sounded worried.
"It’s fine, I’ll take responsibility."
Lin Xue was unconcerned,
"This guy has slipped through our fingers several tis already; I must make sure he is convicted this ti."
The police car headed towards Tianjiao High School; both Tang Ming and Liu ngting hadn’t slept well all night and were currently catching up on sleep in the classroom.
Tang Ming had gone back to refine the poison he had taken, and Liu ngting had been scared.
There were no teachers during early morning study; they could sleep by laying their heads on the desks, but just as Tang Ming was sleeping soundly, Zhou Dafu ca rushing in from other outside, out of breath, vigorously knocking on his desk and yelled urgently,
"Brother Ming, it’s bad, there’s big trouble; get up fast!"
Tang Ming, awakened rudely, rubbed his eyes, and upon seeing it was Zhou Youfu, he angrily said, "Fatso, didn’t I tell you not to disturb my sleep?"
"Brother Ming has gotten into trouble, and the police are looking for you," Zhou Dafu pointed outside and said, "They’re already coming upstairs, do you want to take any precautions?"
"Precautions? Why would I do that?"
Tang Ming had a pretty good idea what this was about and thus he said, "No worries, it’s fine."
Not too far away, Liu ngting, who was sowhat dozing off, was woken up by Li Xiaoli: "ng ng sister, soone is coming to arrest your bodyguard!"
"What? Who’s catching who?"
Liu ngting suddenly woke up and stared at Li Xiaoli with sleepy eyes.
"Fatty Zhou said the police are here to catch Tang Ming," Li Xiaoli pointed behind her.
"Ah?"
Liu ngting turned around and indeed there was Zhou Dafu, anxious and rambling non-stop, evidently sothing had happened!
However, when Tang Ming saw Liu ngting turn around, he gave a faint smile and gestured with his eyes for her not to worry, then walked directly to the hallway outside the classroom.
Liu ngting probably knew what this was about, and having called her father yesterday, presumably her father would take a lawyer to the police station to protect Tang Ming soon?
After all, yesterday’s incident wasn’t his fault, as both n committed suicide! However, to ensure there were no problems, Liu ngting still sent another ssage to her father...
"Tang Ming!"
No sooner had he stepped into the hallway outside, a voice ca from ahead, and Tang Ming turned to look, only to see Lin Xue and two other uniford officers approaching.
"What do you want?"
Tang Ming was annoyed by this policewoman; she was always troubling him for no reason, seemingly fixed on him.
"Co with us, there’s a major case that requires your assistance for investigation," Lin Xue said with a hint of a smile.
"There was a traffic accident on Panshan Road yesterday. You understand, right?"
"I don’t understand," Tang Ming shook his head.
"You don’t understand?"
Lin Xue’s face turned cold: "The accident scene had a black Maserati, which our investigations show belongs to Ma Gangjian."
Tang Ming’s expression remained unchanged, but he knew trouble lood, having a car left at the scene was bound to implicate him sooner or later.
"Ma Gangjian’s car? You should be looking for him then," Tang Ming frowned as he spoke.
"Enough with the pretense, we have a witness who saw you driving away—or should I say, stealing—Ma Gangjian’s car parked in front of the school. It’d be wise to quietly co with , to spare us from having to get physical!"
Lin Xue tapped the handcuffs at her waist and said with a sneer.
"Okay, I’ll co with you."
Tang Ming knew the matter had to be resolved, and after a mont’s thought, he decided to go to the police station to clear things up, tired of this nagging girl constantly bothering him.
Tang Ming walked ahead, flanked by the two officers, while Lin Xue followed from behind.
The group descended the stairs, then walked directly out of the school gates and into a police car, heading for Songlan City Police Station...
