"Don’t be scared; it’s just one guy. Are we, with so many people, really afraid of him?"

Chen Cang tried to embolden his brothers.

Tang Ming, however, said with disdain, "Like a dead fly. If you’re not afraid of , then co at . Copying others with a knife, do you even know how to use it?"

"How could I not? Tang Ming, you forced my hand today. I had planned to settle accounts with you tonight, but since you’re so eager to die right now, I’ll grant your wish."

Chen Cang spoke as if he was mighty, though in his heart he lacked confidence.

Hearing this, Tang Ming walked step by step toward Chen Cang, saying with a cold laugh, "Co on, then, try to slash ."

The distance between the two narrowed from ten ters to five, and finally, just one ter—it was but an arm’s length away.

"You think I don’t dare?"

Seeing Tang Ming that close, Chen Cang imdiately swung the kitchen knife at Tang Ming’s chest. He abhorred Tang Ming and wished nothing more than to kill him, reasoning that his family could afford the life compensation. If it ca down to it, they could just find a lackey to take the bla and pay off the An Family to avoid trouble.

But Tang Ming was quicker, kicking out his foot and striking Chen Cang’s chest. That kick was imnsely powerful; Chen Cang’s body flew back for several ters like a kite with its string cut, crashing heavily to the ground, spitting blood, as the kitchen knife in his hand fell to the earth, half its blade buried in the dirt.

"You really are the ’Undying Roach’."

Tang Ming walked over, giving the other three guys a glance, "Better drop what you’re holding, or do you need my help with that?"

"We wouldn’t dare."

The three youngsters hurriedly tossed aside their weapons, fully realizing that they were no match for Tang Ming’s skills. To them, stones and bricks were useless; they probably couldn’t even touch the hem of his clothes.

After discarding their items, the three stood by Chen Cang, looking like students who had done sothing wrong.

Blondie had actually sobered up by then, but he stayed prostrate on the ground, not daring to get up.

Tang Ming approached, looking down at Chen Cang on the ground,

"Disturbing my spicy hot pot al, what do you say we do about it?"

"Spicy hot pot?"

Chen Cang grimaced, hands clutching his chest, "Big Brother, whatever you say, I’ll do. Just don’t hit again."

"You said it, paying money is the most straightforward."

Tang Ming addressed the three standing ruffians, "Search him, get the money to compensate ."

"Oh."

The three quickly reached out, pulling out a thousand yuan in cash from Chen Cang’s wallet.

"Oh, a thousand bucks. Now I’m really loaded, even enough to buy so ’Poison’."

Tang Ming was overjoyed but kept his face impassive.

One of the youths, a bit scared, said,

"Tang Ming, big brother, it’s just this thousand. Please don’t think it’s too little."

"Hmph, let’s call it even for today. If there’s a next ti, I’ll break your legs."

Tang Ming snatched the money with a stern face and barked, then turned around, his face blooming with a smile.

Chen Cang, helped up by his three underlings, felt a sharp pain in his chest, but looking at A Fei crawling on the ground with a bloody face, he found so consolation; his injuries were not as embarrassing by comparison.

"What are you waiting for, a beating?"

Chen Cang kicked A Fei in the butt and said with irritation, actually blaming this guy internally. If they had just run earlier, none of this would have happened. Instead, A Fei had tried to stab Tang Ming and caused trouble, resulting in Chen Cang getting kicked as well.

"Oh."

A Fei, his face bleeding but with no serious injuries, got up and followed behind Chen Cang and the others, scuttling away from the food street.

As Tang Ming counted the money and walked toward Zhou Youfu, the fatty looked discontentedly at Chen Cang and his group leaving and asked,

"Ming, you’re just going to let them go like that?"

"Yeah."

After he counted the money and found it was indeed a thousand, Tang Ming was over the moon.

"That was way too cheap for them."

Zhou Dafu said dissatisfiedly, "We should have beaten them so badly that flies would be scared to co near, so they wouldn’t dare to cause us trouble in the future."

"No way, if he stops coming, who will give money? A thousand each ti and I get to beat him up too, it’s a good deal."

Just then, Tang Ming realized he had forgotten to say sothing. He shouted toward Chen Cang, who was already far away, "Dead fly, next ti you co looking for trouble, rember to bring more money, that way you can take fewer hits."

The departing Chen Cang and his gang nearly spat out blood when they heard this.

"Fatty, let’s go, I’ll treat you to cold drinks."

Tang Ming waved the banknotes in his hand as he spoke.

"Sure."

The mont Zhou Dafu heard they were going to the cold drink shop, he imdiately agreed with a smile.

The two walked to the entrance of the cold drink shop. At that mont, Wei’er’s mother was sweeping up broken glass from the floor, while Xia Wei’er, with a furious expression, got angry the instant she saw Tang Ming and Zhou Youfu enter.

"Damn, I’m here to support your business and you’re giving that sour face. Don’t think you’re sothing special just because you’re the school beauty."

Tang Ming grumbled to himself, feeling annoyed.

"It’s this guy again. Every ti he shows up, my shop is bound to suffer bad luck—he’s a jinx."

Xia Wei’er watched Tang Ming and muttered to herself with frustration.

Wei’er’s mother, on the other hand, didn’t feel anything particularly wrong. It was that nasty hooligan who smashed her shop’s sign, not related to the two young n in front of her. She said, "Wei’er, we have custors in the shop, aren’t you going to serve them?"

"Got it."

Xia Wei’er turned around and walked behind the counter, then spoke up coldly, "What will you two have?"

"Ice cream."

Zhou Dafu said rubbing his hands together, grinning from ear to ear.

"How many?"

Xia Wei’er looked at Zhou Youfu’s figure and teased, "Both of you seem like big eaters, a small amount won’t be enough for you to share."

"Start with ten, we’ll order more if it’s not enough."

Tang Ming, seeing Xia Wei’er’s unpleasant expression, felt even more annoyed and just sat down on a chair inside the shop.

Ten? Xia Wei’er was startled—it seed excessive. But she suspected it might be so sche from Tang Ming, hoping to make her curious to ask, so she determinedly refused to inquire!

On the side, Zhou Dafu said to Xia Wei’er attentively, "Wei’er, do you want to help you out?"

"No need, just sit quietly with your gluttonous friend."

After saying that, Xia Wei’er started to get ice cream from the freezer, but her mind kept returning to the events that had just unfolded.

Why did Tang Ming and Dead Chen have to fight right in front of her shop, and even smash the sign? Couldn’t this guy pick sowhere else?

"That’s not right."

Suddenly, Xia Wei’er sensed sothing was off. Tang Ming had already given Chen Cang a good beating a few tis; could it be that Chen Cang was like an undying cockroach, always looking to be trounced?

As a clever top-grade student with a love for reasoning and thinking, Xia Wei’er began to wildly speculate the mont she sensed sothing doubtful.

"It must be that Tang Ming arranged for Chen Cang to act out a scene, then played a martyr, all to show how tough he is. In case Chen Cang cos to smash up our shop again, he definitely wants to ask for his help so that he can get close to ."

Xia Wei’er thought to herself, "It must be so; otherwise, what a coincidence that the last ti Flies got the short end of the stick was also when he caused trouble here. Maybe Tang Ming was behind that too, just like Ma Gangqiang that day—utterly despicable."

"Here’s your ice cream."

The more Xia Wei’er thought about it, the angrier she got. She put the ten ice creams on the table with a stern face, then turned and walked away.
