Who did it?

Definitely a master, the girl began to rack her brains, thinking about the people who had been close to her; the only one was that old lady. However, she quite obviously indulged in simple scams, nowhere near capable of such expert thievery. Had she possessed such skills, she wouldn’t have resorted to her old tricks!

That left only one suspect.

"Okay, so he really is a big villain, buying so much Poison, and capable of expert thievery. He’s definitely no simple character, but my belongings aren’t so easily stolen," the young lady thought with a fierce pout, then she quickly chased after him.

She had a special skill: she left a faint, unique scent on the marks of those she pickpocketed, which she could use to trace them back.

It only took her a few minutes to catch up to Tang Ming; following him from behind, she was confident she could use her skills to retrieve what was hers from Tang Ming.

She saw this as a technical contest, at least that’s what the girl believed, feeling vaguely excited about it.

But as she passed a street corner, Tang Ming suddenly darted into an alley. By the ti the girl followed him in, the alley was completely empty, devoid of any sign of Tang Ming.

"Where did this guy run off to?"

The girl wandered around the alley but couldn’t spot where Tang Ming was hiding. She was sowhat astonished by the speed of his disappearance; it was humbling.

Most crucially, the scent had also vanished, leaving her unable to pinpoint his location!

As the girl wandered around aimlessly like a headless fly in search of Tang Ming, a voice ca from behind her: "Are you looking for everywhere because you want to take you to the police station?"

The girl, startled, turned around to see Tang Ming standing behind her with a bad grin, like a ghost.

She knew she was fairly skilled; she could definitely detect anyone appearing within a five-ter radius. But now Tang Ming stood less than two ters behind her, as silently and invisibly as a ghost, which was truly frightening.

The girl’s scalp tingled, and she asked timidly, "How did you get behind ?"

"That’s my business. Why ask so many questions?"

It was only then that Tang Ming really looked at the girl’s face, very pretty and pale, though she seed a bit frail, she was appropriately endowed where it mattered.

"I haven’t even asked if you’re following because you want to rob ?"

Tang Ming scoffed, "If that was your intention, I might actually be willing to let you rob ."

"Shaless."

Upon hearing this, the girl imdiately beca furious, staring daggers at Tang Ming and demanded, "Give back my wallet."

"You’re a thief, you must understand sothing—skill determines who can survive in this line of work. If you want your wallet back, try stealing it back from ."

Tang Ming stood still and started chuckling lightly.

The girl truly didn’t know when Tang Ming had made his move, to her not even sensing it; she hesitated and exclaid in astonishnt, "Are you a fellow professional?"

"No, I don’t dabble in petty thievery. What I do now is much classier than that! But everything you know, I know, and all I know, you have no clue about."

Tang Ming shook his head, "Seeing you help people, you seem not too bad by nature. Better quit early, though. Pickpocketing is bound to attract the attention of experts eventually, and that would spell trouble for you, especially since you’re not quite up to par yet. If you really want to continue, you better practice a couple more years."

After saying this, Tang Ming turned and walked away. The girl was left fuming over his lecture about her lacking skills. It was almost a rcy she didn’t lash out right there, but she hurriedly followed him in a huff.

Tang Ming walked out of the alley and onto the bustling main street, full of people coming and going.

Seeing her chance, the girl rushed forward and bumped into Tang Ming, attempting to pickpocket him.

Unfortunately, before her hand even reached his pocket, he grabbed her wrist sharply, causing her pain.

"Ow, what are you trying to do?"

In pain, the girl imdiately questioned Tang Ming.

"What are you trying to do? I told you, if you’re not skilled, don’t co out and embarrass yourself. If others catch this, they might even chop off your hands."

Tang Ming pinched the girl’s wrist and scoffed.

He thought the girl would retreat knowing the difficulty, but she turned out to be relentless.

"Help! Assault!"

The girl’s face changed, and she shouted in panic.

As Tang Ming held her wrist, he noticed many bystanders looking over and disdainfully said to the girl:

"Fine, let’s call the police and see who’s unlucky."

The girl continued unabashedly, screaming about assault and seeking help, quickly drawing a crowd. A group of elders began pointing at Tang Ming and started accusing him.

"Young man, let her go first. Look how much pain you’ve caused this young girl!"

"Exactly, talk things out nicely, no need to get physical."

"I guess he’s been pursuing this young lady, and when she refused, things escalated."

Listening to the gossip around him, Tang Ming was about to explode— it was truly a case of the thief crying ’catch the thief,’ and this girl was not in the least bit afraid and even had the gall.

"Humph, don’t think I’ll let you off, you must be taken to the police station today to learn your lesson."

Tang Ming, stubborn as ever, was not afraid at all.

The girl, however, laughed indifferently, "Everything is with you; do you think I would be afraid? Let’s see if the police will believe you or ."

At that mont, the sound of a police siren ca from ahead, and imdiately, three patrol officers quickly ran towards the crowd.

"Step aside, what happened here? We’ll handle it."

One officer spoke as he walked.

Finally, the three officers pushed through the crowd and stepped into the circle. The female officer in the middle saw Tang Ming and the girl and paused, "You again."

"Heh, it seems we really are fated."

Tang Ming internally cursed his luck, how could he run into this female officer again?

The female officer was Lin Xue. Her patrol duties had just brought her to this herbal dicine street, but she had never expected, Tang Ming, whom she had dealt with just a few days earlier, would be causing trouble again.

"Just as I thought, not a good person, now creating a scene of indecency."

Lin Xue scoffed at Tang Ming:

"I wouldn’t be surprised if in a few days you escalated to terrorism."

"I wouldn’t dare. I’m an honest citizen; this was all a misunderstanding," Tang Ming defended.

Tang Ming released the girl’s wrist, he knew Lin Xue had strong opinions about him, it was better to resolve this quickly and avoid trouble, lest Lin Xue pile up a bunch more charges against him.

"A misunderstanding because you say so?"

Lin Xue scoffed, "Co with us to the station for a talk."

Tang Ming and the girl were led towards the police car, but now the girl seed a bit unsettled and spoke up, "Officer sister, it’s fine, we were just playing around."

"Playing around? With such loud screaming and so many witnesses?"

Lin Xue paused, then gently reassured,

"Little sister, don’t be afraid, if you’re worried about him taking revenge, don’t worry at all. We, the police, will ensure your safety and will not let the bad guy succeed."
