The Ferris wheel appears in many urban dramas, carrying a romantic urban vibe, and girls have a uniquely strong affection for it.
As expected, once they got there, Li Xiaoli excitedly jumped up and pointed at the high Ferris wheel, saying, "ng Ting sister, shall we go ride the Ferris wheel together?"
"What about Tang Ming?"
Liu ngting casually asked; Tang Ming was a bodyguard, and she felt a bit uncomfortable not having him around, especially after the incident on the mountain road.
"Let him, a boy, not join us—Ferris wheels are for couples to ride," Li Xiaoli pouted and said, "It would be bad if soone mistook him as one of our boyfriends—especially if they thought we were his main and secondary wives, that would be a complete disaster!"
Liu ngting shook her head, unable to comprehend Li Xiaoli’s strange thoughts, but realized that indeed bringing Tang Ming to ride the Ferris wheel wasn’t quite fitting.
"Tang Ming, just hang around down here, Xiaoli and I are going to ride the Ferris wheel."
Liu ngting said, looking at Tang Ming.
Tang Ming wasn’t interested in the Ferris wheel. Besides looking pretty and being tall, it moved so slowly—it simply lifted people to see the scenery. He didn’t really want to go, but rembering that scene in the maze earlier, he couldn’t just not go.
The Ferris wheel was so high that if anything unexpected happened, the two girls couldn’t handle the danger. Plus, the amusent park seed fraught with peril, definitely hiding sothing sinister—Tang Ming had to be extra cautious to ensure the girls’ safety.
"No, I have to go up too."
Tang Ming firmly decided as he looked at the Ferris wheel.
"Ah, why are you going up?"
Li Xiaoli was displeased. Riding the Ferris wheel was supposed to be romantic, and having a clod like him was rather a buzzkill.
"Why can’t I go up?" Tang Ming firmly said, "I am the Liu family’s bodyguard. If I don’t join you and sothing happens, who’s responsible?"
"But..."
Li Xiaoli still didn’t want Tang Ming to join them; she felt it would be inconvenient to have him around when the two girls were whispering secrets in the Ferris wheel cabin.
"Alright, Xiaoli, let’s just let Tang Ming co with us."
After saying that, Liu ngting took out two hundred yuan from her bag for Tang Ming to buy the Ferris wheel tickets.
In the distance, two n in sunglasses watched everything.
One of the n, with a buzzcut, spoke:
"Old Five, by their looks, they seem to be buying tickets to go on the Ferris wheel."
"Hehe, then we can make our move on the Ferris wheel, cause a little ’accident,’ and no one will suspect."
The man called Old Five chuckled sinisterly.
"Besides, accidents in the amusent park are always covered up by the owner—it’s a foolproof plan."
The buzzcut man continued.
Then, the two went straight to the Ferris wheel’s machine room, while on the other side, Tang Ming purchased three tickets and headed to the Ferris wheel’s ticket gate with Liu ngting.
After queuing for a few minutes, it finally was their turn, and the three of them got into one cabin. The door locked behind them, and Tang Ming, seeing the door locked, couldn’t help but ask worriedly, "The door is locked now. What if sothing happens to us up there?"
"Don’t worry, this door can be remotely controlled. We’re locking it now because we fear that you might open the door at a high point and then an accident might occur,"
the worker explained.
The cabin carrying Tang Ming and his two companions slowly rose. To him, even though the door was made of iron, it was no barrier to him, so he didn’t care at all.
As the Ferris wheel slowly turned, rising one or two ters, the entire amusent park ca into view below. Tang Ming felt indifferent, thinking at most he would enjoy the view of the amusent park, but Liu ngting and Li Xiaoli were scared. The two girls held hands tightly and dared not look downward.
"ng ng sister, I’m afraid I can’t look down,"
Li Xiaoli said with her eyes closed, her face pale with fear.
" too, had I known it would be this high, I wouldn’t have co,"
Liu ngting also had a bit of acrophobia. Seeing herself being lifted into mid-air, her heart thumped wildly, and she didn’t dare move an inch.
"The two of you have a fear of heights?"
Tang Ming sat opposite the two girls, asking in surprise.
"Yes, so what?"
Li Xiaoli said defiantly, not wanting to admit defeat. She hated being looked down on, so she had always been the type to do whatever people said she couldn’t. However, this ti she had really wanted to ride the Ferris wheel and had forgotten about her fear of heights.
Liu ngting was not as scared, and by now she had opened her eyes and was slowly looking outside. It took her a few minutes to calm down, at least enough to dare look at the scenery outside, though she stayed in the middle of the seat, not daring to go near the edge of the door.
"Xiaoli, it’s okay. Try opening your eyes and looking outside. Then you won’t be as afraid,"
Liu ngting said as she held Li Xiaoli’s hand, trying to comfort her.
"Really?"
Li Xiaoli slowly opened her eyes and glanced outside. Although she was very scared, having Liu ngting by her side gave her a sense of security. Most importantly, with Tang Ming sitting opposite her, she opened her eyes wide to save face and forced herself to look at the scenery outside. It had to be said that being at a high place offered a different view.
"That’s it, there’s nothing to be afraid of,"
Tang Ming comnted disdainfully upon seeing that the two were okay.
Li Xiaoli deliberately stared out, defiantly saying, "Who said I was scared? I was just feeling a bit uneasy earlier. Tang Ming, you better not spread this around when we get back to school, or you’ll see what I’ll do to you if I find out."
"Yeah right, as if I have nothing better to do than talk about you. People might think I like you!"
Tang Ming closed his eyes and began to rest, thinking though there was nothing much to appreciate on the Ferris wheel, it was a good place for a nap.
"Hmph, what a killjoy,"
Li Xiaoli muttered under her breath, displeased that Tang Ming, this boy, had no interest and ca up only to sleep.
"Xiaoli, look over there,"
Liu ngting suddenly noticed sothing on the distant ground, and pointed it out, "That there is Sky Sea Storm, such a large place, yet it looks so small from here."
The two girls began to chit-chat on the Ferris wheel while Tang Ming continued to rest, pretending not to hear anything. He just hoped there wouldn’t be any mishap on the Ferris wheel because at this height, it would be problematic if anything happened, especially with Liu ngting and Li Xiaoli around.
In the control room, the chubby manager sat in front of the Ferris wheel’s control panel, speaking to a man with a buzz cut in a sowhat troubled tone, "There are quite a few people on the Ferris wheel. If there’s too much commotion, we might alert the police."
