The three or four Warriors in leather armor cried out in alarm as they spurred their horses, their foreheads slick with sweat. They kept urging their steeds on, but their mounts were comparatively frail and looked as if they had already been running for quite so ti.
The horses' coats were soaked in sweat, their muscles trembling. It was clear they were not far from complete exhaustion.
Just as Fang Zhen was observing these Warriors, the horse of the one riding at the very front suddenly lost its footing, stumbled, and collapsed to its knees.
As the warhorse fell, its Knight tumbled to the ground. The rider seed quite skilled, however. He rolled several tis to dissipate the force of the impact. Despite suffering multiple scrapes, he was otherwise uninjured and scrambled right back to his feet.
The fallen warhorse, however, tripped one of its companion's mounts and startled another, causing it to fall as well. All three warhorses were brought to a halt.
"We're done for!" one of the Warriors cried out in a voice filled with frustration and despair.
Another gritted his teeth, drew the short sword from his waist, and turned to face the seven pursuing Abnormal Ghosts, his eyes bloodshot with a look of do-or-die desperation.
Seeing this, Fang Zhen said nothing. He spurred his Red Hare Warhorse and galloped swiftly toward the three Warriors.
'Though I don't know who these three Warriors are, in the Curse Seal World, the enemy of aberrations and monsters is a friend of mine,' Fang Zhen thought. 'There's nothing wrong with saving them.'
Fang Zhen urged his warhorse onward, moving faster and faster. His appearance drew the gazes of the three Warriors.
Seeing Fang Zhen clad in full armor and riding such an extraordinarily magnificent, large steed, the three Warriors couldn't help but gasp. They just didn't know if this newcor was friend or foe.
Fang Zhen didn't even look at the three Warriors. He galloped right past them to confront the seven charging Abnormal Ghosts head-on.
The Red Hare Warhorse was incredibly fast. In the blink of an eye, Fang Zhen t the seven Abnormal Ghosts.
Three of the Abnormal Ghosts reacted with extre speed. In the middle of their charge, they suddenly leaped two or three ters into the air, pouncing on Fang Zhen from above from three different directions like an overwhelming wave.
If they managed to land on him, the obsidian-like Bone Sabers in the Abnormal Ghosts' hands would slice an ordinary person into several pieces.
Holding his long spear, Fang Zhen swept it through the air in an instant. The horizontal sweep ford a fan-shaped arc, yet it appeared to be several ters short of the Abnormal Ghosts, as if he had swung at empty air and left a fatal opening.
The three Abnormal Ghosts seed to sense this defensive gap as well. In mid-air, the grotesque faces of the Abnormal Ghosts twisted into even more hideous expressions.
Suddenly, the fan-shaped space where Fang Zhen's spear had passed erupted with a loud BANG. A visible, yet formless and transparent, shockwave swept out horizontally.
The shockwave was perceptible to the naked eye, like the distorted air shimring on a scorching sumr day. Though formless and transparent, it possessed a tangible quality.
This ripple in the air swept outward with a thunderous roar, the imnse force tearing through the air and creating a sonic boom.
The three pouncing Abnormal Ghosts let out sounds of astonishnt. The next mont, their bodies were flung backward and burst open at the abdon. It was as if bombs had been strapped to their torsos, detonating in a gory explosion of flesh and bone.
Under the power of that ranged spear sweep, all three Abnormal Ghosts were blown into two halves in mid-air by the formidable force!
Fang Zhen's expression remained as calm as still water.
Fourth-Rank Power Mountain Seal: Sky Splitting!
'I have to admit, the Fourth-Rank Power Mountain Seal is on a completely different level of power compared to the first and second ranks.'
The Power Mountain Seal: Sky Splitting attack broke through the limitations of close-quarters combat, even surpassing the physical constraints of his weapon's length. It had greatly enriched and enhanced Fang Zhen's attack range and thods.
The three Abnormal Ghosts had exploded in mid-air, their torsos bursting apart to expose shattered organs and bone. Blood rained from the sky, but not a single drop landed on Fang Zhen.
His Gang Zan Seal had already deflected all the blood.
anwhile, Fang Zhen held his spear in his right hand, his horse's speed unbroken as he charged toward the four remaining Abnormal Ghosts ahead.
Seeing their kin die so gruesoly in mid-air, the four Abnormal Ghosts gave in to their instincts and screeched to a halt, their claws digging tracks into the ground.
For a mont, the four Abnormal Ghosts froze for about a second, uncertain whether to fight or flee.
But in that single second of hesitation, Fang Zhen's spear, held in his right hand, beca a blur of motion. He delivered four successive thrusts, light and quick as a dragonfly skimming water, tapping each of the four Abnormal Ghosts on the head.
A mont later, the heads of all four Abnormal Ghosts suddenly exploded like waterlons, splattering brain matter everywhere as their lifeless bodies collapsed to the ground.
Power Mountain Seal: Gangrou!
All the Abnormal Ghosts were dead. These formidable aberrations, once a considerable threat, had been utterly powerless against the newly strengthened Fang Zhen.
「At this mont.」
Behind Fang Zhen, one of the three Warriors he had saved exclaid, "That's a high-rank curse seal! I've seen that seal before!"
After this exclamation, the other two seed to find a glimr of hope. They let out cheers of relief, as if finally releasing the terror they had just experienced from their narrow escape from death.
Fang Zhen flicked his spear to clean it before retracting it. The Red Hare Horse beneath him reared up on its hind legs, halting its forward montum, then quickly turned around.
Fang Zhen turned his head to look back at the three Samurai he had saved.
