The guide clapped his hands. "Alright everyone! Let’s begin the tour."

As they started moving, West leaned closer to his father and whispered, "So... how badly did you destroy that guy at work?"

Mark chuckled. "Accidentally, mostly."

West nodded solemnly. "That’s the best kind."

Behind them, Elina whispered loudly to her brother, "He’s even hotter up close."

The brother looked like he was reconsidering all his life choices.

West smiled to himself.

This weekend was already promising.

From the mont the tour began, it was clear, positioned herself beside West with the precision of a guided missile, matching his pace perfectly as the group followed the guide deeper into the resort’s sprawling interior.

If West slowed, she slowed. If he stopped to look at sothing, she stopped too. If he shifted slightly to the left, she sohow ended up already there.

It was impressive but mostly hilarious.

anwhile, Mark was a few steps ahead, engaged in forced workplace small talk with William and his wife. William smiled, nodded, laughed at the appropriate monts but internally, he was absolutely grinding his teeth.

West could tell.

The man had the sa energy as soone politely chatting while ntally drafting an email titled "Why Mark Is Ruining My Life."

The guide led them first into a massive underwater do, a transparent tunnel stretching through a man-made lagoon. Above and around them, massive aquatic creatures glided through the water... so were natural while so were awakened hybrids engineered for tourism.

As a gigantic manta-ray-like creature passed overhead, glowing faintly blue, the guide began explaining its biology.

Before he could finish—

"You know," Elina said suddenly, tilting her head toward West, "manta rays mate for life. They form deep emotional bonds."

West blinked. "Oh."

"They also swim together for years," she added cheerfully. "Side by side. Constant companionship."

Her brother made a choking sound.

William’s wife glanced over with her eyebrows raised.

West nodded slowly. "That’s... very loyal of them."

Elina smiled brightly. "Right?"

The brother leaned in. "Elina, rember what Dad—"

She shoved his face away with one finger without even looking at him. "Shh. Adults are talking."

"I AM ALSO AN ADULT—"

"You’re fifteen."

"I—"

"Shh."

West bit his lip to stop himself from laughing.

They moved on to the Ruin Exhibit Hall, where the skeletal remains of a massive creature discovered in a collapsed ruin were suspended mid-air by anti-grav fields. Its bones were spiky, twisted, and faintly gave off residual energy.

The guide explained the dangers of ruins, the unpredictability, the mortality rate.

Elina nodded thoughtfully. "You know, awakened couples who enter ruins together tend to have higher survival rates."

West turned to her. "...That so?"

"Yes," she said seriously. "Trust, coordination, emotional connection. It’s all very romantic. Dangerous love, you know?"

Her brother slapped a hand over his face.

West humd. "Sounds... intense."

"Oh, very," her eyes sparkled as she responded.

They proceeded through a technological wing, where cutting-edge inventions were on display... adaptive combat drones, simulated battlefields, holographic training pods.

At one point, they boarded glass-bottom boats that glided silently across an illuminated canal. The water below shimred with bioluminescent plants.

Elina leaned over the edge slightly too far.

"Oh—!"

She slipped.

West reacted instantly, grabbing her wrist and pulling her back against him.

Her face turned crimson.

"...Wow," she whispered. "That was... chivalrous."

West smiled awkwardly. "You okay?"

She nodded rapidly. "Yes. Yes. Very okay."

Her brother stared at them like he was witnessing a personal tragedy.

Later, they used compact glass submarines, descending briefly into deeper waters where massive shadows moved beyond the lights.

Elina, once again, found a way.

"So deep-sea creatures only reveal their true colors when they feel safe," she said softly. "Otherwise, they stay hidden."

West glanced at her. "Is that so?"

She nodded. "Sotis, you need the right person nearby."

Her brother groaned loudly enough that the guide glanced back.

Next ca low-altitude gliders, floating just a few feet above the ground, sweeping them across hanging gardens and artificial cliffs. The wind rushed past and mist brushed West’s face.

He ntally bookmarked at least six places he wanted to revisit later.

’This place is insane,’ he thought. ’And I haven’t even explored properly yet.’

By the ti the tour wrapped up, the brother had reached his limit.

"So," he said smugly as they disembarked, "what floor are you guys staying on? Bet it’s, like, sowhere mid-level."

West tilted his head. "159."

"...What?"

"159th floor," West repeated casually.

The boy’s jaw dropped. "That’s— that’s not possible. That’s VIP tier."

William’s smile cracked.

Elina’s eyes lit up. "Oh."

West shrugged. "Dad’s idea."

They parted ways shortly after as Mark and West headed back toward their tower.

Elina watched them go, quietly committing "159th floor" to mory like it was sacred scripture.

That evening, West and his father dined at one of the resort’s high-end restaurants.

The plating was exquisite, the flavors were complex but the portions were... insulting.

West stared at his plate.

"...Dad."

"Yes?"

"I’m not saying this isn’t good," West said carefully while poking at the food. "I’m saying if I blink too hard, it might disappear."

Mark laughed. "That’s fine dining."

West sighed. "Fine dining? More like fine fasting."

After dessert... which was roughly the size of a coin... West stood.

"I’m going to find actual food," he announced. "The kind that fills your soul."

Mark waved him off. "Don’t get lost."

West grinned. "No promises."

...

...

Mist drifted lazily between towering glass structures, lights reflected off the liquid-like stone floors and artificial waterways. Soft music buzzed beneath the sound of footsteps, laughter, and distant fountains.

It was the kind of place where money didn’t just exist... it floated... invisible but ever-present.

And walking through it like she owned the air itself was a woman with an intense, oppressive presence.

She was tall, long-legged with a posture straight enough to make surrounding people unconsciously step aside. Half of her face was concealed behind a black designer nose with a tiny red petal crafted along its surface.

The visible half of her face seed stunning... One could spot sharp jawline, full lips pressed into a displeased pout, eyes hidden behind tinted glasses that still sohow felt like they were judging everything.

"This is unacceptable," she said coolly.

Beside her walked a man in a perfectly tailored suit, sweating despite the controlled climate. "Y-yes, Mistress... We’ll address it imdiately. I’ve already spoken to the managent—"

"You spoke," she interrupted with a flat tone. "But the service remains subpar."

The man nodded rapidly. "My fault entirely. I take responsibility."

She clicked her tongue, clearly unimpressed, and continued forward.

At the exact wrong mont, West ca hustling up from the opposite side of the plaza.

His hands were filled with bagels, wraps, sothing fried and dripping oil into a paper bag, a drink precariously balanced on top.

He was mid-thought, ntally planning which attraction to hit next and whether his stomach could handle another round after last night.

One of the bagels slipped.

"Ah—!"

West instinctively crouched to grab it, completely disappearing from sight just as the woman descended a short set of stairs.

She didn’t see him.

So the mont he stood up, they collided.

Thump~

West staggered half a step back. "Oh—! I’m so sorry, I wasn’t looking—"

The woman didn’t move an inch...

She stood exactly where she had been with her heels planted to the ground like he’d bumped into a wall disguised as a person.

West blinked.

"...Uh. Sorry," he said again quickly, flustered. "Really. That was my fault."

He even tried to offer her one of the bagels. "Here—uh—as compensation?"

The man in the suit stepped forward instantly with a cold glare. "That won’t be necessary. Move along."

"Oh—okay," West shrugged. "Sorry again."

He nodded awkwardly and walked off, feeling slightly embarrassed but quickly brushed it off.

Behind him, the plaza noise resud but the woman didn’t move.

She stood there, utterly still.

The man glanced at her. "...Mistress?"

Several seconds passed and then she spoke.

"He didn’t recoil."

The man frowned. "Pardon?"

"He bumped into ," she said slowly. "I was moving as well. Even casually... a normal person would have been pushed back. Hard."

The man stiffened.

"...Yes."

Her eyes narrowed beneath the shades as she turned her head slightly. "Yet he remained standing."

The man swallowed. "Even a Tier 1 awakened would have been sent flying. With your... natural output."

"Exactly."

His mind raced. "Then... Tier 2?"

She shook her head. "No."

"That’s impossible," he said quickly. "A Tier 2 would be older. Arrogant. Affiliated with a gang. Surrounded by noise and attention. That boy had none of that."

She was quiet for a mont.

Then she said, calmly, "He is Tier 1."

The man’s eyes widened.

"...Recently awakened."

His breath hitched. "How can you be sure?"

"I’m sure," she replied.

She turned slightly, following West’s retreating figure in the distance.

"That boy... find out who he is."

The man hesitated. "Mistress... you ca here to rest. Do you really want to bring work into this trip?"
