As Aiden flew toward the incoming gods, translucent notification screens materialized before his eyes.
[For holding against Orion, You Have Been Granted 3 Level Ups]
[Current Level: 7/20]
Another screen appeared imdiately after:
[Special Quest Issued: Divine Opposition]
[Objective: Fend off Lilith and her faction of gods]
[Reward: ??]
Aiden didn’t pay the screens any attention at all, and they drifted away from sight as the two armies collided mid-air.
Divine energy erupted in every direction as gods clashed against gods.
So gods broke away from the main conflict at once, each seeking a specific opponent.
So were driven by personal grudges, while others acted on a simpler rule: you fought soone your own size.
In the midst of all this chaos, Jorus flew directly toward Aiden and Thera, with Myria following a few ters behind him.
"Dragon Vessel!" Jorus roared as he closed the distance.
His divine weapon materialized in his hand, it was a short staff with a forked end.
He swung it toward Aiden’s massive draconic head with trendous force.
But in that mont, Thera shot forward and positioned herself between them.
She raised her left forearm horizontally, intercepting the strike. The staff slamd into her arm with an impact that sent a shockwave rippling outward.
They remained locked in that position for a brief second, with Thera’s amber eyes blazing as she glared at her brother.
"Quit this madness!" she yelled.
A majestic, rumbling voice ca from behind her then. "Thera, move!"
Thera’s eyes widened as she sensed the imnse heat building up behind her. She imdiately released Jorus and flew to the side, getting out of range just in ti.
Aiden’s massive jaws opened wide, revealing rows of dagger-like teeth as a colossal stream of fire erupted from his mouth, engulfing Jorus completely.
The flas roared forward with such intensity that they turned the surrounding air into a haze of heat.
When the flas finally dissipated, Jorus was revealed. His body was horrifically burned. His skin had been charred and peeled away in large sections, exposing raw muscle and bone beneath.
Half of his face was completely marred, with his skull visible through the destroyed flesh.
For just a mont, he looked like a corpse suspended in midair.
Then his wounds began sealing up instantly.
Flesh rebuilt itself over exposed bone, and within seconds, Jorus looked completely unhard, as though nothing had happened at all.
Aiden’s red eyes narrowed slightly as he observed this.
Inwardly, he acknowledged that this was an exceptionally powerful regenerative factor.
But in the next instant, sothing massive ford above Jorus.
An enormous mirror materialized in the air, with its fra stretching dozens of ters wide. The surface was perfectly reflective.
This was Myria’s divine weapon.
She had arrived behind Jorus now, floating with one hand raised toward the mirror as it hovered above them both.
The mirror’s surface tilted downward slightly, angling itself to capture both Aiden’s massive dragon form and Thera within its reflection.
"No! Look away!" Thera shouted urgently toward Aiden.
But it was too late.
Even Thera herself hadn’t looked away in ti.
The mont their reflections fully ford within the mirror’s surface, both of them felt an irresistible pulling force.
Their bodies were yanked forward violently, drawn into the mirror itself.
Aiden’s massive dragon form dissolved into light and was absorbed into the reflective surface. Thera followed imdiately after, vanishing into the mirror with a flash of amber energy.
Jorus turned his head slightly and nodded at Myria. She nodded back, then reached out and placed one hand on his shoulder.
In the next instant, both of them were also absorbed into the large mirror fra above.
The massive mirror hung in the air for a brief mont longer before vanishing entirely, leaving no trace behind.
——
Aiden and Thera found themselves standing on solid ground.
The transition had been almost instantaneous, one mont they were flying through Eden’s sky amidst a battlefield of clashing gods, and the next they were here.
Aiden was still in his dragon form and his massive head turned slowly as his red eyes scanned their surroundings.
It looked exactly like Eden.
The sa towering structures. The sa crystalline stone streets. The sa cosmic sky overhead. But it was absolutely silent.
No sounds of battle, no one was even there except for them both.
Thera then spoke up
"We looked into Myria’s mirror, and now we are trapped in her Mirror World." She gestured around them with one hand. "What you’re seeing around you is a reflection of Eden."
Only one word caught Aiden’s attention.
He repeated it aloud: "Trapped?"
Then he scoffed and said dismissively: "Please."
Thera turned toward the dragon with a puzzled expression, wondering why that statent seed to amuse him rather than concern him.
But before she could ask further, two figures materialized mid-air before them.
Jorus and Myria floated side by side, as they looked down at their captives.
Thera and Aiden turned their attention to them at once, watching as both gods’ forms expanded until they were nearly eight feet in height, brimming with different colored miasmas.
It was their fully powered forms as archon gods.
Thera herself also grew to similar size as her siblings, then spoke; "Prepare yourself, Dragon Vessel. Within her Mirror World, Myria is as strong as Gaia or Umgadi."
Myria smiled deviously down at Aiden then.
"I see, so you were able to undo your vengeful persona."
That was when Aiden fully realized who had cast the spell on him earlier, the one that had twisted his emotions and made him want to kill every god in Eden.
However, he said nothing in reply, and his red eyes remained locked onto hers without blinking.
Thera then directed a reply to her. "This is a fool’s errand, Myria. You cannot seriously think you can hold three Archons and a dragon here for long."
Jorus spoke up then, with a voice filled with conviction:
"In here, there’s no unnecessary interference. Even the All-Father cannot do anything to stop from seeing to the end of the Black Dragon!"
This Mirror World was like any other dinsion, and Aiden could have just as easily left this place with his space portal or followed so of the other thods in his arsenal to escape.
But not without putting these two in their place first.
He said nothing to the threat from Jorus. Instead, his massive dragon form began shrinking down rapidly until he resembled sothing more human.
He still retained his wings, and most of his body remained covered in black scales, maintaining a draconian appearance.
But now he stood at a more manageable size, maybe seven feet tall with clawed hands and feet.
Thera turned toward him, speaking almost in a whisper: "What are you doing, Black Dragon?"
She had assud that him being in his full dragon form was him at his strongest. She hadn’t expected him to power down like this.
"How else would I hold the weapon I’ll be slaying your siblings with?" Aiden replied calmly.
He stretched his right hand out to the side and spoke with authority:
"Co to , Excalibur."
In that mont, a double-edged sword with golden highlights materialized in his grip.
The weapon glead brilliantly even in the reflected light of this mirrored Eden. There was golden highlights along the sides of the blade
This weapon had been retrieved from his Treasury of the Previous Kings; this the legendary blade given to the first king, Arthur, which carried the blessings of multiple gods.
And according to the System, it was one of the only weapons that might be able to bring Samael so sort of harm.
Seeing this weapon made all three Archons present wear expressions of surprise.
Each of them had at so point granted this weapon their blessings. Even the All-Father had imbued it with so part of his power.
Which made it an extrely powerful weapon to be wielded by one who was their enemy right at this mont.
"How did you get your hands on that weapon?" Jorus demanded, with his eyes narrowing dangerously as he stared at Excalibur.
Even Thera seed concerned that he held it now. She wasn’t sure if she really wanted her siblings dead, not even Jorus.
"Enough talk!" Aiden said sharply, pointing the blade directly at Jorus.
Then in one blur of motion, he shot upward into the sky toward Jorus with blinding speed.
Thera followed imdiately after him, raising both hands as several large boulders lifted off the ground around her. They traveled ahead of her like projectiles aid directly at Myria.
She was going to deal with Myria while Aiden fought against Jorus.
