Two figures stood on the moon’s surface, surrounded by endless craters and silence.

Gaia knelt beside Adam’s motionless body. He remained like this for days, with his chest rising and falling like anyone who was in a deep sleep.

And Gaia’s hands glowed with green energy as she channeled a divine magic spell into his body.

Roots of pure life force extended from her palms and wrapped around him, as she did whatever she could think of doing in a bid to wake him up.

"It’s useless." Umgadi’s voice rang out. She stood several paces away with her back turned to Gaia, while she stared out into the endless expanse of stars that surrounded them.

Her constellation patterns flickered across her dark skin in slow, pensive movents.

Gaia didn’t respond at first.

She continued channeling her magic for another long mont before finally letting her hands fall.

The green glow faded, and the roots dissolved into wisps of light that scattered.

She exhaled and rose to her feet.

"Then what do you suggest?" Gaia asked.

"I don’t know but we have to look for another alternative that has nothing to do with our powers," Umgadi said.

Gaia walked over to stand beside her sister and gazed out at the sa stars. For a long ti, neither of them spoke.

Then Gaia broke the silence.

"There might be sothing,"

Umgadi turned her head toward Gaia, with growing interest crossing her face.

"An old friend," Gaia continued. "Soone whose domain is creation itself."

"Who?" Umgadi asked.

Gaia t her gaze. "The Dragon, Thyron."

Umgadi’s expression looked puzzled at that, almost a frown maybe. But then a voice echoed directly into her mind.

"Sister, how shall I find you?"

Umgadi recognized the voice at once.

It was Thera’s.

Umgadi’s eyes went wide as she turned sharply toward Gaia, only to see the sa expression mirrored on her sister’s face.

The ssage had reached both of them at the sa ti.

——

In Eden, within the grand chamber that had once belonged to Adam...

Lilith slept peacefully atop the bed, with her head on Samael’s chest which made her body feel more relaxed.

Her dark hair spilled across the pillows in a soft, tangled spread, while the silk sheets covered her only partially, leaving a part of her ass exposed.

Samael’s eyes opened and he stared up at the ceiling for a mont before turning his head to glance at Lilith’s sleeping form. She breathed evenly, undisturbed by his stirring.

Without making a sound, Samael shifted his weight and slipped out from beneath her.

He moved with deliberate care, ensuring not to disturb her rest as he stood from the bed.

Samael reached down and grabbed a pair of dark pants from where they had been discarded earlier. He pulled them on and fastened them at his waist before turning toward the chamber’s exit.

His bare feet made no sound as he crossed the floor and stepped through the doorway into the corridor beyond.

Her corridors were empty at this hour and no gods wandered these passages, leaving just Samael alone.

He continued forward for several paces before stopping in the middle of the corridor.

Then a dark purple glow began emanating from his body. The light spread across his skin and his form began to change beneath it.

His white hair darkened, his broad shoulders narrowed, and the masculine angles of his face and body turned into feminine curves until he stood there no longer as himself but as soone else entirely.

Lilith.

Samael’s lips curled into a nasty grin as he examined his hands, now smaller and delicate.

"Perhaps there was so relevance to learning demonic magic after all," he said to himself in Lilith’s voice.

It was perfect and every inflection matched hers exactly.

With that, he lifted off the ground and floated forward, down the corridor.

Back in the chamber, Lilith stirred.

Her eyes opened slowly as she shifted beneath the sheets. She reached toward the space beside her, only to find it empty.

Propping herself up on one elbow, she scanned the room.

Samael was gone.

She frowned briefly, then relaxed and sank back onto the mattress with a sigh. He must have gone to Asahel’s.

Lilith pulled the sheets closer and closed her eyes. Within monts, her breathing steadied as sleep claid her once again.

——

The Library of Records was a vast cathedral of knowledge.

Endless shelves rose toward high, vaulted ceilings, packed with books, scrolls, and manuscripts arranged with perfect care.

Golden light poured down from floating chandeliers to illuminate the room.

At the center of it all moved Mocles, the High God of Records.

He walked calmly between the shelves, with white hair tied back neatly despite a few loose strands framing his aged face.

Thin spectacles rested on his nose as he traced a finger along the spine of an ancient to.

His appearance was that of an old scholar, though age held little aning for a god. He wore plain robes with cuffs that had ink stains on it.

Mocles pulled the to from its shelf and opened it carefully, adjusting his glasses as he scanned a certain page.

Then he heard the sound of footsteps echoing through the library.

His head lifted at once. Visitors were extrely rare here as most gods had little interest in dusty records and historical accounts.

He turned toward the entrance just as a figure stepped through the Doorway.

Lilith.

Mocles straightened imdiately and inclined his head in respect.

"Mother," he said.

Lilith nodded in acknowledgnt as she walked further into the library.

Her dark hair fell loosely around her shoulders, and her expression was calm, almost pleasant as she approached him.

"How have you been keeping to your duties of record-keeping?" she asked.

Mocles closed the book in his hands and set it aside on a nearby reading table before answering.

"I give my duty the best I can, Mother," he replied.

But even as he spoke, sothing felt off. At the back of his mind, a small voice whispered its confusion. Why was the Mother of Gods here? Why was she speaking to him as though they had known each other?

They hadn’t.

In truth, Mocles had only been brought into existence a short while after Lilith had been imprisoned at the edge of the universe.

He had never t her until just a few days ago when she returned to Eden.

And yet here she was, acting as though their relationship was familiar.

Mocles pushed the thought aside and maintained his composure. Perhaps this was simply how she conducted herself with all gods.

Samael, wearing Lilith’s form, observed Mocles carefully as he spoke. He was trying to stay in character, to behave as he imagined Lilith would in this situation.
