Fourteen n closed in step by step from three directions.

The fierce horse neighed loudly, but under Chen Yi’s control, it lowered its head, charging forward without hesitation.

Like a formation-breaking assault, intimidating enough for anyone to dread. Even though the Brocade Guards possessed martial arts prowess, they were still flesh and blood. The guards blocking the way retreated to both sides and raised their blades to slash at Chen Yi.

Chen Yi tightened his grip on the blade, drawing an arc in mid-air. The throat of the guard nearest to his right was already marked by a thin line of blood.

Behind him, blades descended with the sound of rushing wind, slashing his back. His official robe split instantly, but his spine was like iron, leaving only a faint trail of blood.

Chen Yi spun abruptly, his left hand lunging outward, catching another guard off-guard. He forcefully gripped the guard’s head, pushed away, and followed through with a ferocious punch. The impact shattered the guard’s nose bridge, leaving his face drenched in blood.

"He’s on horseback—cut the horse’s legs!"

Wang Gu shouted.

A group of guards closed in, aiming their strikes at the horse’s legs. But Chen Yi slapped the horse with his blade, urging it forward. The guards’ attacks all missed.

A broad-shouldered, narrow-waisted guard imdiately leaped onto his own horse, roaring as he charged at Chen Yi.

Chen Yi turned his horse abruptly, pulling into a sharp halt. The horse’s hooves dragged a circle on the ground as Chen Yi raised his blade to block. Their weapons collided with an earth-shattering noise like thunder. Chen Yi raised his hand and punched the guard square in the chest.

It was like a mountain shaking.

The guard’s face froze, and he fell helplessly off his horse.

Chen Yi seized his blade and turned, using it to strike another guard who was rushing in for the kill.

The latter clearly hadn’t anticipated the blow; he stumbled, and monts later, his head was cleaved away by Chen Yi.

In re monts, several guards t their demise.

The remaining ones grew visibly fearful.

Wang Gu mounted his horse, gripping his blade tightly, and roared furiously.

He advanced in a storm-like attack. Chen Yi raised his blade, poised to cut, but instead saw Wang Gu leaping off his horse mid-charge, crashing directly into him.

The forceful collision sent Chen Yi tumbling off his horse, rolling across the ground as guards wielding long blades pressed in for the kill.

Chen Yi pushed himself off the ground in a backhand motion, his eyes cold and brimming with murderous intent as he raised his blade to parry. He blocked one attacker, but the rest closed in with their blades.

Sharp edges struck him repeatedly, waves of searing pain surged, and bloodlines etched across his body as his official robe beca shredded beyond recognition. Yet, none could deliver wounds deep enough to reach his flesh.

Chen Yi twisted his blade in a reverse grip, drawing a sharp arc that evaded a barrage of attacks. The guards recoiled instinctively. Taking this opportunity, he lunged at one of them, delivering a punch straight to his heart at extre close range.

Crunch.

The sound of a sternum shattering rang out.

Spinning with his blade in hand, Chen Yi cleaved at a guard attacking from behind.

Blood sprayed outward, staining Chen Yi’s garnt red.

Wang Gu’s eyes widened in horror at the scene. He could never have imagined that the fourteen Brocade Guards were falling one by one so effortlessly.

Was he... really just a Qianhu?

How could he possibly be just a Qianhu?!

Through the grinding of sand and the whispers of wind, the infant tower stood tall, accompanied by faint cries.

Chen Yi broke through the encirclent, charging straight at Wang Gu.

No room for negotiations remained; Wang Gu raised his blade and fought back.

The clash of weapons sent Chen Yi staggering back half a step, yet he continued his assault. His blade danced like a dragon, cutting arcs of sharp shadows through the air.

Wang Gu’s montum was ferocious, his technique aiming directly at vulnerable points such as the throat and head. Step by step, he forced Chen Yi into retreat, seemingly avoiding the sharp blows.

Suddenly, as Wang Gu’s strike fell short, Chen Yi advanced abruptly, stepping onto his blade. Neither could effectively wield their weapons now.

Wang Gu made an aggressive attempt to raise his blade, but the Brocade Spring Blade quivered faintly, unmoving. Chen Yi closed the gap instantly, launching a savage punch at Wang Gu’s face.

Bloodied and distorted, Wang Gu’s features contorted as the sound of fractured skull fragnts echoed.

The long blade slipped from Wang Gu’s grasp, his body sent flying backward. Though as a seventh-grade martial artist he did not perish, he was gravely injured, left dazed and reeling.

With their commander down, the remaining guards trembled in fear, while Chen Yi began to grin.

His laugh was derisive.

As Min Ning led a group of constables rushing to the chaotic village, they found the ground painted with blood and over ten corpses strewn about. Those who survived groaned in agony.

Chen Yi stood with his blade planted in the ground, grinning as he looked at Wang Gu, the Eastern Factory Qianhu lying motionless.

He stepped on Wang Gu’s chest, leaned down to look, and smiled:

"Lin Party’s evil spreads across the land. That doesn’t justify you joining them in spreading it."

"Initially, I didn’t care much about the Ding’an Party. Now, you’ve forced to take notice."

Wang Gu’s face froze, his voice hoarse: "Finish quickly!"

Before he finished speaking, Wang Gu cried out in anguish.

Chen Yi rcilessly severed his left arm, causing blood to spill like a torrent. His other hand pressed on Wang Gu’s head, continuously extracting True Qi.

Wang Gu was consud by terror, watching Chen Yi’s emotionless face, utterly unyielding.

"I’ll find soone to stop the bleeding later and apply golden sore dicine. I’ll make sure you’re sent back to the Capital City properly."

"Taking your arm, sparing your life. When you return to the Capital, inform the Ding’an Party and King Jing about everything that happened today."

Wang Gu’s twisted face locked onto Chen Yi, his gaze a mix of defiance and unease.

"West Factory’s Chen Qianhu... You might kill , but you can’t kill King Jing. You might control , but you can’t control the entire Ding’an Party!"

"Not just you—even if you commanded the entire Eastern Factory, you’d still fail!"

Chen Yi did not reply, instead asking: "Can you hear the cries from the infant tower?"

Wang Gu, montarily perplexed, shook his head.

"You can’t hear them? Then listen closely. The people the Eastern Factory fears to kill, I kill. The matters the Eastern Factory dares not intervene in, I handle!"

Saying this, Chen Yi casually tore a strip of cloth, wiping the blood from his blade before sheathing it.

Turning around, he saw Min Ning and her group of constables staring blankly.

Min Ning slowly dismounted, staring at the bloody corpses scattered around as if recalling a rainy night—a mont that filled her with dread.

Why... why had he killed so many from the Eastern Factory?

What was his true agenda?

Min Ning shivered with fear.

"Min Ning, you heard ."

Chen Yi chuckled: "Help the Eastern Factory brothers collect their bodies, then have soone escort Wang Gu back."

After killing so many, why was his face... still adorned with a smile?!

Min Ning trembled, unnerved.

In response to Min Ning’s reaction—

As the True Qi converted, Chen Yi restrained his grin, speaking in a gentle tone: "This story is long... They struck first.

Also, this infant tower was deliberately condoned by Wang Gu and the others."

Regaining her composure, Min Ning raised her head to look at the wooden infant tower.

Hearing the faint cries, her breath hitched.

Chen Yi shouted to the constables: "Listen, if you recognize as the acting commander, rescue those children from the tower. Take them to the infant care hall—be careful, don’t let anyone hurt them. If anyone does, I’ll settle it personally.

Find those responsible for building this tower and their accomplices. Don’t let a single one escape. When we return, there’ll be Silver as a reward."

Min Ning looked slightly stunned, almost as if she was seeing a new side to Chen Yi for the first ti.

Could he be... not entirely evil?
