No matter what, today’s outco was still a good one.

Yin Tingxue thought so before falling asleep, able to faintly hear the voices in others’ hearts.

People’s inner voices were always vague, without structure or grammar. Most of the ti, there was only a general impression, often interrupted by stray thoughts or sudden shifts of tone. Thus, even though Yin Tingxue knew she could hear many things, what she grasped was only a rough outline.

For instance, she didn’t know exactly what Chen Yi was thinking; she only knew that he seed to have grown closer to Sister Weiyang, with fewer defenses in his heart.

This was a good sign.

At the very least, Sister Weiyang wouldn’t have to suffer so much anymore.

In the dim state of sleep, perhaps due to her Foundation Establishnt, Yin Tingxue floated in a hazy clarity.

Not long after, she began to dream.

The dream was very, very short.

Within it, many things were blurred and indistinct. What could be glimpsed, however, was the Golden Hall of the imperial palace. Upon the gleaming golden bricks from the imperial kilns, the Emperor in his dragon robe was staring at a secret morial. After a long mont of hesitation, he finally, with visible anguish, marked it with red.

On the morial was written a sowhat unfamiliar na—Yin Xin.

Yin Tingxue thought for a while before realizing that this was the King of Jing, Sister Weiyang’s father.

The dream continued.

Night pressed darkly, thunder and lightning roiling above the Golden Hall.

A figure donned in a royal python robe braved the rain as he was summoned, stepping into the hall amidst the storm.

The Emperor’s face twisted in shock the mont he saw that familiar visage.

After this, the scenes grew hazy. Yin Tingxue saw only faintly—King of Jing standing there as if nothing had happened, calmly reporting matters one after another.

After he finally departed, only the Emperor remained within the shadows, his face filled with disbelief as he murmured lowly to himself:

"How is it that my own brother... just can’t be killed?

If he lives, how will I sever my Three Corpses?"

Just as Yin Tingxue’s curiosity stirred in her haze, wishing to continue the dream—

a hand suddenly slid onto her waist.

Startled, Yin Tingxue flinched herself awake. Feeling the touch of that hand, she didn’t even need to turn. Still half-drowsy, she already knew it was Chen Yi.

She mumbled, her lips twitching faintly, as her mind lingered on the thought: the Emperor in her dream must have been the forr Emperor of Great Yu, a man who stopped at nothing in his quest for immortality, even crafting the Pri Minister’s case for his ans.

Co to think of it, that forr Emperor was her grandfather, whom she’d never had the chance to et. Her father had neither been favored nor assigned a significant position. Thus, Yin Tingxue had never been summoned to the court and bore no feelings toward the late Emperor.

Yin Tingxue lay there for an indeterminate length of ti, drowsily edging toward wakefulness. Turning over, she saw Chen Yi.

At so point, he had shifted back to the center of the bed, enjoying a morning luxury of Little Yin on his left and Great Yin on his right.

Having already awakened, he turned and let his hand rest gently on the girl’s waist and back. He softly asked:

"Were you dreaming?"

"Mmm... about Sister Weiyang... I’ll tell you later... I’m still sleepy." Yin Tingxue let out a small yawn and closed her eyes again.

Yin Tingxue always had a habit of sleeping in, sothing she had carried with her for a long ti.

In the beginning, she had been forced to share a bed with Chen Yi and was so afraid of him that she pretended to sleep through the morning. Chen Yi would leave for the West Factory, and she could thus avoid encountering him as soon as she woke up.

Over ti, waking later had beco habitual. After their nuptials, except during those days of the month, Chen Yi would almost always tease her in nightly indulgences, leaving her too exhausted to rise early.

And Chen Yi had never been willing to wake her. As long as she was healthy, he was always indulgent with her when it ca to eating and sleeping.

Ti passed unknowingly. Fully awake now, Chen Yi got out of bed first. To avoid waking Yin Tingxue, he moved carefully—not climbing over her but instead slipping off the bed near her feet.

He went off to prepare breakfast for everyone in the courtyard.

Yin Weiyin opened her dazed eyes. This wasn’t the first ti she had stayed over, so she naturally knew what was going on.

The weather was slightly chilly. She tugged at the quilt, pulling it over half her face. The warmth and scent of that person lingered within.

Inhaling his lingering scent, Yin Weiyin wrinkled her delicate nose and couldn’t help but think back to last night.

She had even gone so far as to say those words, her deanor soft to the point of yielding. And yet Chen Yi did not accept her.

The female crown couldn’t understand.

At the ti, his tone had been gentle, his gaze clearly drawn to her. Even though she hated to admit it, there had always been... a connection between them. She severed the red dragon; he subdued the white tiger. But why... why did he still refuse her?

With furrowed brows, her gaze dimd. Unintentionally, when her eyes drifted ahead, she caught sight of the curled-up Princess Xiang.

What exactly... made her inferior to this princess of the Xiang lineage?

In terms of physique, this princess hadn’t even fully grown. To put it politely, she was delicate; to put it bluntly, she seed unfit for childbearing.

If not physique, then pedigree. The House of Xiang had been confiscated. The princess had long beco a criminal. anwhile, she herself was the proper daughter of the King of Jing, whose status was still as illustrious as ever.

As for talent and age, there was no need to compare—Yin Weiyin was confident she triumphed in those, too.

The only category that might be comparable was beauty, but since she had surpassed in everything else, she felt confident in this as well.

Yin Weiyin couldn’t help but feel confusion. In what way could this Little Yin possibly surpass her?

Lost in these thoughts, she adjusted the quilt around her tighter.

Feeling the reduction in blanket cover, the half-asleep Yin Tingxue smacked her lips and murmured:

"Quilt... my quilt... don’t pull it..."

Yin Weiyin, lips curving into a sly smile, clasped the quilt tightly. Taking advantage of her not being fully awake, she teased:

"If you let have your girlfriend slot, I won’t pull."
