"I am a pig."

A big pig face suddenly dropped down, followed by a helpless sigh from the man. What was supposed to be a serious scene of catching an adulterer instantly turned comical, and Yin Weiyin couldn't help but burst into laughter.

Her tears mixed with the upturned corners of her mouth. She tried to cover her face, but failed miserably. Her brows and eyes bent with amusent, like the delight of a sweet reunion after a brief parting. The emotions bubbled up, vivid and raw, as if drinking down bitter dicine and imdiately chasing it with candied fruits—only laced with a splash of fragrant vinegar.

No, why am I laughing? This isn't right…

Yin Weiyin genuinely didn't want to laugh. Catching a cheater demanded seriousness and fury, unveiling the truth should have been followed by a stormy reprimand. The words were poised at the tip of her tongue, yet all of them were chased back by the uncontrollable laughter. She exerted effort, channeling her breath to stabilize herself, her energy sinking deep into her Dantian, before managing to suppress it sowhat.

anwhile, her husband, holding the fake pig face, leaned closer and asked:

"Did you get a good look?"

"Wh-what… get a good look at what?" Yin Weiyin struggled to maintain a straight face as she responded.

Chen Yi earnestly replied, "I am a pig."

Yin Weiyin finally lost all restraint, clutching her stomach and laughing. "Hahahaha…!"

The cheerful laughter brought Lu Ying back to reality from her stunned state. She glanced at Chen Yi just as he turned his head towards her, grumbling in a muffled voice:

"Senior Sister Lu, you were right—I'm a pig."

Lu Ying hadn't laughed initially, but she hadn't expected Chen Yi to even snort through his nose. "Snort snort."

"Hahaha..."

Lu Ying burst into laughter, and after just a couple of laughs, she was pierced by a cold glare. Yin Weiyin stared at her intently, as if saying, "He's only for to laugh at."

Realizing her montary loss of decorum, Lu Ying quickly covered her mouth, suppressing her laughter.

The room, once filled with tense suspicion, was now bustling with cheerful noise. The previously brewing sches and silent undercurrents dissipated, regardless of the faint glint of swords outside the window. Inside the chamber, the candlelight danced warmly amidst carefree rrint.

The two won and one man laughed together, scattering the oppressive atmosphere of the supposed infidelity like smoke in the wind.

Chen Yi let out a relieved sigh, shaking his head with a smile.

Learning from experience, this was the strategy he had co up with since his last encounter with the little fox who caught him in a misunderstandable scenario.

Even though there was truly nothing between him and Lu Ying, won rarely evaluate based on facts; what matters most are emotions.

If a man can make a woman laugh even in the middle of catching him red-handed, he just might secure a few extra chances to redeem himself.

Yin Weiyin's laughter gradually died down, and the overturned vinegar jar—the taphorical sting of jealousy—no longer exuded its sour aroma. That was when she realized she had fallen for Chen Yi's trick, yet looking at that pig face, she couldn't even muster the anger to retaliate.

She felt she ought to be furious—but sohow, the anger wouldn't co.

Chen Yi removed the pig face mask and finally began to explain:

"Luanhuang, earlier I thought you might've been an assassin from Lifeng Pavilion, probing our vulnerabilities, so I pretended to be married to my senior sister."

Chen Yi emphasized "senior sister" very deliberately. Yin Weiyin's eyes brightened slightly, and the lingering resentnt in her heart quietly lted away.

So it had all been a misunderstanding?

He didn't go chasing after other Immortal Mistresses...

Of course not. How captivated was he by her? Completely enamored, caught in her grasp without even realizing it. Yin Weiyin thought back to countless small details from their past interactions, and in monts she found limitless proofs of his affection.

Nevertheless, driven by a woman's natural skepticism, Yin Weiyin cast a questioning glance towards Lu Ying.

Lu Ying nodded and confird, "Yes, he indeed counts as my junior brother."

This wasn't sothing worth hiding. Chen Yi, having learned Yin Sword Mountain's swordsmanship from Zhou Yitang, was just an unregistered disciple wandering the Jianghu. After spending so much ti together, the two had grown familiar, and she had accepted him as her junior brother.

If there was anything truly worth concealing, it would probably have been the amusing tale of The Return of the Condor Heroes that Chen Yi had fabricated.

Thanks to the promotional efforts of the Prince Mansion, even Lu Ying knew that this Princess was Chen Yi's actual wife.

Of course, the ceremony involving four people, with Miss Donggong orchestrating the switch in brides, was sothing Lu Ying—as an outsider—was completely ignorant of.

Chen Yi removed the pig mask, and Yin Weiyin, whom he hadn't seen in ages, fell straight into his gaze. Like standing atop a towering mountain overlooking a boundless sea of clouds, words piled up in his throat but couldn't find their way out. His eyes lingered—watching and rewatching—as his lips quivered for a long ti, ultimately releasing only a chuckle.

For the first ti, he truly studied her, though Yin Weiyin had already been watching him—for long, for countless tis...

Watching for so long.

Long enough that it felt as though their eting wasn't a re reunion after separation, long enough that at this mont, she wasn't stirred by other thoughts, only catching herself mocking Chen Yi for his infatuation.

Chen Yi snapped out of his thoughts and asked, "What are you doing here?"

He had only now asked the question, as asking earlier wouldn't have elicited any response from Yin Weiyin, given her mood.

"The Chongyang Temple master Jiangxin Zhenren held a feast as the host, and I ca at his invitation. He ntioned there'd be a distinguished guest to introduce to us..." Yin Weiyin paused before continuing, "You've likely heard of the Sword Pool Secret Realm."

"I ca here partly—three parts, to be exact—for the Sword Pool Secret Realm, because Senior Sister Lu has so connection to it."

Hearing that he was running around in such a manner for another Immortal Mistress, Yin Weiyin frowned and questioned, "And the other seven parts?"

Chen Yi had been waiting for this and promptly replied, "For the Taichua Goddess. Do you have any leads?"

Yin Weiyin froze briefly upon hearing this, the words spinning endlessly in her mind. Truly, a reunion after separation had its peculiar charm. From his previous arrogance, claiming her essence without hesitation, to now—his deanor softened, filled with an unexpectedly tender respect. She couldn't help inwardly remarking.

Her intuition wasn't wrong. Throughout this journey, Chen Yi had indeed missed her terribly. Even amidst catching him in their earlier confrontation, attempting to tease her as he once would, he sohow found himself unable to voice it, proving that at the end of the day, it all boiled down to yearning.

Yearning so deep that even Chen Yi couldn't bear provoking her with a playful eye-roll.

But Yin Weiyin had an inch-to-mile personality. If she were that little fox, perhaps she'd seize his longing with gratitude and grace. Instead, her approach was entirely contrary—smug yet subtle, her face adorned with a faint, delicate smile like an Immortal Master:

"With fate between us, there are no impossible paths in the world."

Chen Yi took a deep breath,

suppressing the temptation to elicit a playful eye-roll from her.
