The sound of hooves and weapons clashing shook the earth, thinning the thick fog as two pitch-black figures appeared in the distance.

The two of them rode the wind, with circles of golden light rippling around them.

Dong Gong Ruoshu's eyes lit up, and without even thinking, she imdiately recalled the Daoist ntioned by Yuan Qi, realizing that these must be the ones as she saw them easily breaking through layers of soldiers.

With a grand gesture, she ordered a second wave of swift arrows to rain down from the sky.

The arrows ford a dense fan-like shape, showering down by the thousands upon the Daoist.

Once again, the Daoist raised the sword, letting it fly from his hand. Instantly, it sliced through the storm like a fierce wind tearing the arrow rain to pieces. As the corpse soldiers and corpse generals pressed in, he slid through them like a swimming fish, not even requiring graceful footwork, as the glint of swords and knives swept over like oil on water.

"Impressive." Dong Gong Ruoshu murmured, recognizing a skilled technique.

She waved her hand, and two bronze chariots crushed through her own corpse soldiers and charged, the crunching sound of bones under crushing wheels mixed with the rampant gallop of the zombie horses, their large, hard bones laid bare, carried an eerie, desolate beauty, making the valley and earth tremble.

The enormous spear, as forceful as a horse lance, emanated a chilling killing intent. The towering corpse generals launched a pincer attack on the two Daoists, the spear blades sweeping from the sides, intent on severing them at the waist.

The spears ford a giant scissor, yet Chen Yi and Yin Tingxue did not dodge, remaining rooted in place. The approaching spears were initially overwhelming, then overbearing, and finally only a sharp point remained at the tip. As they neared, they abruptly shattered of their own accord. Did even these lifeless things experience repeated waning? Sword Qi could be seen bursting at the spear's cross-section, riding along the spear to shred the corpse generals from inside out.

The zombie horses pulled the chariots past, unable to even utter a sound, the armor of the corpse generals remained intact, yet they could only fall back skyward onto the muddy ground, trampled into the dirt by following corpse soldiers.

Observing the situation, Dong Gong Ruoshu furrowed her brow slightly, but with a glance over her still vast army, her confidence stayed unwavering.

"These people... quite the experts."

anwhile, on the other side,

the two wielded a single sword.

The Daoist leaped boldly into the fray.

In a flash,

breaking three hundred yards into the formation, blades and soldiers fell like withered wood along the path, collapsing like a paper tower.

Dong Gong Ruoshu's expression remained unchanged, banners waved grandly as she commanded the iron-armored flood to amass and surge, her voice unyielding to build the long wall.

In the next instant,

the engulfing soldiers sward like locusts, seeking to consu the two figures entirely. The Daoist's pace slowed, the sword was unsheathed, the blade followed, tearing through layers of miasma, in the air erupted shattered iron armor like rain. Notably, one figure had a face like iron, while the other trembled uncontrollably.

Dong Gong Ruoshu was montarily bewildered, and the complexions of the people on the chariot turned stark gray. She maneuvered the chariot, and hesitated before focusing the corpse soldiers and corpse generals before her, forming thick, layered walls.

In the final mont,

the Daoist charged directly at the wall,

as the corpse people trembled, the Daoist's sword light swept through layers of pikes and swords, revealing rows of mysterious armor within the light. These guards, buried alive two thousand years ago, had black water rolling in their throats, and their rusty weapons scraped out continuous sparks as they marched with the corpse group.

Where the sword tip pointed, all blades and weapons crumbled. The fearless corpse people sward like waves, aiming to crush the two into the ground, only to find them slipping through gaps in the swarming masses, far removed from the collapsing corpse soldiers and generals.

The long, thick walls were punctured like silver needles, not collapsing, but the Daoist had already relentlessly closed in on the bronze chariot, aiming straight for the head!

The Daoist's sleeves fluttered, the path of the sword unstoppable, corpse soldiers and generals vanishing before the sword, as if willingly opening a path.

Wei Wuque's face was serious, ready to act. No matter what, his duty now was to protect Dong Gong Ruoshu at all costs; those of Xique Pavilion never feared death.

Yet, Dong Gong Ruoshu turned her head, nodding at him, before unsheathing her blade, like a dragon's roar.

Like martial artists from tales shared a glance and instantly reached a mutual understanding...

Wei Wuque was utterly confounded, what mutual understanding had they reached? What consensus?

Before he could ponder further, Dong Gong Ruoshu had leapt away, amid the lead of corpse soldiers and generals, navigating through the Daoist's sword montum diminishing, seizing a gap to launch a blade strike at the Daoist.

Chen Yi abruptly sensed the murderous intent, halting mid-step, pulling back Yin Tingxue, and spun his sword backward with uncanny awareness, its shining blade swiftly countering.

The glimr of sword and blade intertwined instantly, illuminating their figures.

Chen Yi's sword strike abruptly halted, the sword and blade passed keenly by each other, eyes wide open staring at the other, seeing each other's true appearance, and Dong Gong Ruoshu continually looking back as she lunged, leading to a comical fall.

"Why is it you?!"

...........

Salt, white rice, and human blood... Daoist Xu Zhou Zhao Rui set up an altar, circling Wang Jian, shaking a dao bell, pacing round and round.

Setting up altars was to command the ghosts and demons, created by Emperor Zhenwu's descent from True Martial Mountain.

In past chaos, ghosts arose, battered armies and dead generals surged, as Luofeng Mountain in the northern Gui place was the root of ghostly death energy. Therefore, in the Six Heavens above Luofeng, a ghostly palace was constructed. The mountain stands two thousand six hundred miles high, spanning thirty thousand miles around, housing eight hundred million malevolent ghosts. Emperor Zhenwu, by the Celestial Sovereign's command, led celestial and terrestrial generals to sweep away banditry and demons. To prevent ghost and demon resurgence, established a sect, with True Martial Mountain as the main lineage, with other sects as collateral branches, forging twelve swords, each nad after a ghost palace.
