The Donggong Ruoshu in his arms was stunned, frozen there as if in disbelief, unable to speak for a long ti.
Chen Yi remained vigilant, patiently waiting.
"Husband?" Her voice trembled slightly, "Did I marry you?"
Chen Yi nodded slightly and said, "Yes... Ruoshu."
Now that Ruoshu was here... she fell silent for a mont, then said, "...How co I can't rember?"
"You've lost your mory; you don't even rember , so how could you rember this?"
With these convincing words, Donggong Ruoshu again froze on the spot, her head lowered, eyes bewildered.
Yin Weiyin's mind went blank in an instant.
The thing he feared most had happened...
They truly had an affair. Having an affair was one thing, but to marry openly as well!
Even though he had expected it, Yin Weiyin's heart was in turmoil. If his real self were on the scene, even if Chen Yi wore ten pig masks, it wouldn't matter. Hmph, it felt as if a fla had suddenly been ignited from sowhere, flickering and dancing upward...
Yin Weiyin silently recited the Supre Forget Emotion Technique, forcibly suppressing his emotions, and manipulating Donggong Ruoshu, said, "That might be it..."
Chen Yi nodded, feeling slightly relieved in his heart.
Whatever was inside the body of Donggong Ruoshu before him was unknown, but the one who ca was not friendly and shouldn't be treated lightly. He could only probe carefully to find the boundaries.
Chen Yi had always been receptive to warnings, believing in the Old Saintess' words rather than disregarding them, especially considering the situation with Donggong Ruoshu's body, which he was aware of too.
The current issue was, where had the soul of Donggong Ruoshu gone, and then there was Yin Tingxue... In any case, they should leave this place first.
He said, "No matter what, let's get out of here first. Co with ."
Donggong Ruoshu nodded slightly, and Chen Yi turned around, closely followed by her.
Her eyes were dim, her lips tightly sealed, pressing hard,
In just six months, he and Miss Donggong had beco so intimate. Had they done everything?
Looking at the back of his head, Yin Weiyin suppressed the urge to hit him hard.
What she didn't know was, Chen Yi's hand was less than a few inches from the hilt of a knife at his waist; he could draw it before she acted.
Slowly they traversed the cave, with Yin Weiyin suppressing a thousand feelings, understanding that things couldn't be rushed. If he tried to ask too hastily, with Chen Yi's acuity, he would surely notice sothing, and then it wouldn't be about uncovering the affair anymore. The situation might beco attack and defense reversed; catching the adulterer might turn into being caught in a trap. He must carefully ponder, feigning a muddled and confused look, catching him off guard with a sudden "aha mont," and then asking more questions.
Such thoughts, how ticulous they were, like the line of a creeping grass snake stretching a thousand miles. It was a side attack, but later he could use this to force him to confess, yielding willingly to be twisted and turned. At worst, he could cut off the relationship so they'd never et again... Reflecting on this, Yin Weiyin could only sigh that unfortunately, no one appreciated it. The cleverer the ans, the less they were known.
They walked on, along the long corridor, pressing forward constantly. This whole journey, the cave seed like an endless abyss, and Chen Yi's gaze only grew more solemn.
He hadn't escaped; how could those Jianghu guests escape?
Yet, how co not a single person was seen?
Just as his thoughts grew heavier, the space before them suddenly opened up.
"Ruoshu... do you know where this is?" Chen Yi casually asked.
"...I, I don't know..." Donggong Ruoshu shook her head, "No impression."
Chen Yi silently dismissed a hypothesis, scanning the surrounding scenery.
Before them appeared to be a small Sacrificial Hall, centered with a raised square Magic Platform, with stone lampstands standing in all eight directions. The lamp oil had long since dried up, leaving only stained traces. Taking a closer look at the Platform, there was an odd stone statue, neither Taoist nor monk, yet it perford the Fearless Seal with its right hand and held a Magic Sword aloft with its left.
Chen Yi closely examined the statue, its face stern, lacking much of the compassion of a Buddha or Bodhisattva, instead possessing a solemn sense of vanquishing demons. It stood there as if guarding a realm.
The Old Saintess was also closely scrutinizing it, after a while, she said, "This is... Zhenwu Bodhisattva?"
"Zhenwu Bodhisattva?" It was the first ti Chen Yi heard the na, "I've heard of Emperor Zhenwu, but what's this Zhenwu Bodhisattva?"
"As the na suggests, it's Emperor Zhenwu in the guise of a Bodhisattva. But this situation is known to few; I've only seen it in ancient texts. It's said that such statues were offered as a tribute during chaotic tis, but not long after, they all disappeared without a trace."
Having heard this, Chen Yi was puzzled. Indeed, the two religions had gods they mutually revered, such as the story of Kalan Bodhisattva, but he had never heard of Emperor Zhenwu serving as a Bodhisattva within the Buddhist Sect.
Moreover, for the tribute to vanish so quickly, it only added to the mystery.
Having had experience with destroying Bodhisattvas, Chen Yi understood that once a Bodhisattva's dharma body was destroyed, a tribute statue would no longer accept incense, gradually losing its divine aura. Even the most skilled craftsn would find it increasingly elusive to capture its essence, and the Zhenwu Bodhisattva statue before him... its eyes indeed lacked spirit.
Thinking of this, Chen Yi gently reached out, channeling energy to test it.
No response.
The eyes were completely devoid of spirit, and the stone chamber before them was a picture of calm, no different from any place they had passed previously. Perhaps sothing unusual had once occurred here, prompting the chamber's creator to carve a Zhenwu Bodhisattva, but now there was nothing left.
