Julian was imdiately shocked by what Anindya said.

"Human trafficking? Is that real?" Julian asked, still struggling to believe it.

Anindya didn’t answer imdiately. She reached into her right skirt pocket, pulled out her phone, and turned it on. Then, she opened the internet and went to a news site she had bookmarked. Without a word, she turned the screen toward Julian.

Julian’s eyes widened when he read the headline.

"National Police find 20 teenagers in an old bunker deep in the Riau Islands forest—half of whom have been declared dead"

"Look," Anindya said quietly.

"This news is a case of human trafficking" Anindya continued.

Julian’s gaze lingered on the article.

"I thought this news was a hoax..." Julian said in disbelief.

"No, Julian. This is real" Anindya said, shaking her head slowly.

Anindya stopped shaking her head and looked back at Julian.

"This article was written by an official national dia outlet—not a fake dia. In fact, this case has been confird directly by the National Police and the forensic team," Anindya said, her gaze deep and serious.

Julian looked at Anindya, who looked completely serious. Then he swallowed and said,

"Okay, I believe you" Julian said.

Anindya smiled and turned off her phone.

"Hehehe, thank you," Anindya said with a chuckle.

Anindya turned off her phone and placed it on top of her skirt.

"So... what does this have to do with your family?" asked Julian curiously.

Anindya took a breath and then answered.

"In 02 February 2069, my papa and his friend—who was the Chief of the Indonesian National Police—were investigating the forests of West Kalimantan. They were searching for human traffickers," Anindya replied with a serious expression and tone.

"But unfortunately, by the ti he reached their hideout, they had already fled" Anindya continued.

"Oh dear!, so your father failed?" Julian asked.

"No, before started, Papa and his team had already split up. So in the forest and so monitoring the coastal areas" Anindya replied.

"So, what next?" asked Julian.

"They received word from the team on the coast that the human traffickers were leaving the dock on two container ships, each carrying 10 containers" Anindya replied.

"So, were they successful in capturing the perpetrators?" asked Julian.

"No, Papa only managed to save two containers—the ones that hadn’t been loaded onto the ship—and apprehend so of the mbers. Each container contained 100 people, ranging in age from 8 to 20" Anindya replied.

"What!? Eight years old!? How could a kids be in a container!?" asked Julian with a shocked expression.

"Yeah, I was confused at first when mama told that" replied Anindya.

"When they were rescued, one of the children said that so of them were lured with toys and so were sold by their parents" Anindya continued.

"WTF, is that serious!? Are there parents that cruel!?" Julian asked with a shocked expression and tone.

"Of course there is, because every human being has evil in their hearts—it’s up to the individual to follow it or not" Anindya replied.

"That’s right... So what’s the reason their parents sold their children?" Julian asked.

"There are many reasons, even mama cried when she told " Anindya replied.

"Ahh I see..." Julian said.

"Damn, I never thought human trafficking really existed!" Julian thought to himself in annoyance, his hands clenched into fists on his thighs.

Anindya was silent for a mont, staring at Julian’s tightly clenched hands. Her expression softened, but her eyes beca sad. Julian closed his eyes—trying to control his emotions.

"Phew~" Julian exhaled to calm himself.

After calming down, he continued asking.

"So the rest of them managed to escape, huh?" Julian asked.

"Yes. Eighteen containers got away. Papa and the team tried to chase them, but they already got away because we were blocked by their mbers on the beach, plus it was raining heavily" Anindya replied.

"Did your father’s team try to find them again the next day?" Julian asked.

"Of course, when they were in the middle of the sea they found a container ship" answered Anindya.

"Oh, maybe they ran out of fuel?" Julian asked excitedly.

Anindya shook her head.

"No, it was the opposite," Anindya replied.

"Eh? The opposite?" Julian asked, confused.

"Yes, it turns out the perpetrators used the ship as bait. They placed motion sensors outside—" Anindya replied.

"Wait, motion sensors? Don’t tell ..." Julian interrupted.

Anindya nodded her head.

"Yes, those sensors function as bomb controls" Anindya replied.

"WTF!?, does that an if soone passes by, the sensor will send information to the control center, and then it will explode imdiately!?" Julian asked, with a shocked expression.

"Yes, you’re right. The bomb will automatically explode" Anindya replied.

Julian covered his lips with his right hand in shock.

"Shit, that sounds crazy—how could a criminal think so modernly?" Julian said.

"That’s right, Papa didn’t even expect that. He thought they were just common criminals" Anindya said.

Julian removed his right hand from his lips.

"So, were your father and his team safe?" Julian asked.

"Safe, but so suffered injuries—papa also suffered a tal wound on his right calf" Anindya replied.

"Thank God, they quickly realized it" Julian said, breathing a sigh of relief.

"Yes, that’s right. Luckily, Papa’s friend brought professional mbers—those who are very sensitive to their surroundings" Anindya said.

Julian asked again.

"So they lost track of the criminals, right?" Julian asked.

"Yes, but after a month, they managed to catch one of the gangs suspected of being involved. The gang was found in Tanjung Pandan City. They were discovered when one of the investigative teams was having dinner at a restaurant" Anindya replied.

"One of the officers saw the movents of two n carrying a woman. That officer’s eyes were very sharp—he could even tell the physical appearance of soone who had been beaten" Anindya continued.

"So, does that an they imdiately stopped the two n?" Julian asked.

"No" Anindya replied.

"Huh? Why?" Julian asked, confused.

"They were police—they weren’t allowed to arrest them imdiately, so they just followed them, pretending to be pedestrians out for a night out—they even dressed like ordinary people" Anindya replied.

"I see, so they set up surveillance first," Julian said, beginning to understand.

"That’s right... After following the two n, they reported to their commander—that’s when their base was uncovered—it was in an underground nightclub" Anindya said.

"What cri did they commit?" Julian asked.

"Prostitution" Anindya replied.

"WTF, this is crazy! I can’t believe this! How could this be done in a city?" Julian asked, his expression completely shocked.

"Of course they can, they get a lot of custors in the city, and what’s even more surprising is that their business license is that of a regular nightclub. That’s what managed to fool the local governnt" Anindya replied.

"Uwahh, I hope this incident can make the governnt more focused and decisive, so they don’t let their guard down" Julian said.

"That’s right" Anindya said.

"So after your father caught them, did they imdiately tell him the location of the main perpetrator?" Julian asked.

"No, because he said the main perpetrator had ford a gang—consisting of the people they were buying and selling," Anindya replied.

"So worked because they were brainwashed, so for the money, and so willingly" Anindya replied.

"That’s crazy! I wonder what those people who joined willingly were thinking" Julian said with a faint smile.

"I don’t know either" Anindya said.

Anindya started to take the mango juice that she had provided on the table. She poured it into two cups.

"Then, what’s the next step for your father and his team?" Julian asked.

"Catching the gang is not easy, because they mix with ordinary people and live in a normal environnt" Anindya replied, while pouring juice into each cup.

Anindya finished pouring all the juice into each cup, then she returned to Julian carrying two cups.

"That’s why we went into the underworld, to look for this information" Anindya said, handing the cup to Julian.

"Thank you," Julian said who accepted the cup.

"I see, so your family has been hunting down all the gangs?" Julian asked.

Julian started drinking the juice.

"Yes" Anindya replied.

Julian finished drinking.

"Then why did you have to kill corruptors and drug dealer before?" Julian asked.

"It can’t be helped, I don’t like them!" Anindya said with an annoyed expression and tone, holding her cup.

"Why don’t you like it?" Julian asked.

"Because the corruptors and drug dealers I killed were people who had hard many people. If I let them live, they could go free anyti with their large sums of money" Anindya replied.

"Heee, I see. No wonder you didn’t kill the thugs we caught earlier" Julian said.

"Yeah, those thugs just need to be rehabilitated" Anindya said.

Julian began stroking Anindya’s head, saying,

"Good, good, I didn’t expect you to be such a good girl. I’ve been angry with people like that too, but since I’m just an ordinary person, I can only suppress it" Julian said with a smile.

Hearing the complint, Anindya blushed. She put her glass and phone on the floor, removed Julian’s hand from her head, then walked to his left side, and began to wrap her arm around his left arm.

"Hehehe, if you want, I can kill anyone who annoys or angers you," Anindya said softly.

"Ha-hahaha, I guess you don’t need to, because I’m not ready to kill anyone yet" Julian said with an awkward laugh.
