Over the next few minutes, Mu Chen’s suspicions were confird.
Their group continued to venture further into the green belt, yet the pursuing enemies never appeared.
Was it possible that Niepan hadn’t sent anyone after them? Mu Chen doubted it.
After Ling Mo’s brazen display of humiliation, leaving Niepan’s face thoroughly battered and unrecognizable, there was no way they could tolerate it…

While these thoughts ran through Mu Chen’s mind, his gaze flickered over Lan Lan and her father, as well as the sunglasses man.
Old Lan’s background was sothing Mu Chen knew, but he wasn’t very clear about Old Lan’s standing within Niepan headquarters.
And the sunglasses man… In Mu Chen’s eyes, he was just a peculiar-looking thug.
Such a power-hungry and cunning person might have secured a position within Niepan, but it wouldn’t be a high one…
Like Lan Lan, Mu Chen also couldn’t figure out why Ling Mo had captured him.
But then again, when had Mu Chen ever understood anything Ling Mo did?
This was supposed to be their first night infiltrating Niepan, but Ling Mo had suddenly taken things to a climax.
Throughout the whole process, Mu Chen had only assisted Ling Mo with so support tasks and knew almost nothing.
He initially thought that sothing unexpected had occurred during Ling Mo’s psychic probe, and things just changed “like this and that”…
But the fact that he had to use vague phrases like “this and that” to comfort and fool himself made Mu Chen want to cry…
However, when he saw Ye Lian and Xia Na, Mu Chen began to doubt his judgnt.

“Really?!” Mu Chen frowned, suspicious.
Seeing Ling Mo’s seemingly “friendly” smile, warning bells imdiately rang in Mu Chen’s mind.
“Whenever he smiles like that, he’s planning sothing against !”
Despite this, Mu Chen couldn’t suppress his curiosity.
“Alright, go ahead,” Mu Chen said, his face tense.
“Whimper whimper…” The sunglasses man whimpered again. This ti, before Ling Mo could kick him, Mu Chen discreetly stepped in and kicked him instead.
“Shut up!”
Hearing Mu Chen’s low growl, the sunglasses man’s face twitched, and his eyes seed to roll back slightly.

He had never fought with Mu Chen before and assud Mu Chen was just a lackey of Ling Mo…
Thinking this, the sunglasses man snorted heavily through his nose to express his disdain.
“Damn, you’re so cocky!” Mu Chen fud.
Ling Mo, however, conveniently tossed the sunglasses man over to Mu Chen: “He’s all yours.”
“Thanks…” Mu Chen lifted the sunglasses man but quickly sensed sothing amiss, “Wait, did you give him to on purpose?”
Ling Mo rubbed his wrist, smiling, “Why would I…”
“But you look so relaxed!”
“I have sothing important to discuss.” Ling Mo said, turning sowhat serious.
As he spoke, he slipped his hands into his pockets, “Your efforts played a significant role in our successful infiltration this ti.”
“Whimper whimper!” The sunglasses man started struggling again, quickly shifting his hateful gaze from Ling Mo to Mu Chen.
Mu Chen felt a chill down his spine, and his expression turned a bit grim.
The sunglasses man was, after all, a superhuman with ntal abilities, and combined with his special eyes, his stare could indeed exert considerable pressure.
Unlike Ling Mo, who possessed formidable psychic power, Mu Chen began to feel uncomfortable instantly.
“So you did just want to dump him on !” Mu Chen said, distressed.
“He’s interfering with my recovery…” Ling Mo said while rubbing his temple with one hand, “With a formidable enemy ahead, it’s better to prepare early.”

“Alright, it’s probably sothing like ‘it’s for your own good,’ right…” Mu Chen waved his hand dismissively, shaking his head as he spoke.
“Not exactly. It’s more like you just don’t need to know. And honestly, it’s better if you don’t know.” Ling Mo replied bluntly.
“Hey!”
Although Mu Chen’s expression showed his displeasure, he couldn’t help but inwardly sigh.
As odd as it might sound, admitting it felt a bit like he had a masochistic streak… But truth be told, Ling Mo’s bluntness actually made Mu Chen feel sowhat relieved.
After all, he had been deceived by Ling Mo countless tis with half-hearted excuses. Now, to finally hear so honesty…
Moreover, the fact that Ling Mo was being truthful with him at this mont probably ant he fully trusted him, right?
“Fine, if you say I don’t need to know, then I don’t need to know. I’m just a curious person by nature.” Mu Chen chuckled self-deprecatingly.
The sunglasses man, eavesdropping and hoping to glean so insider information, didn’t expect Ling Mo to switch topics so abruptly.
