“Gulp, gulp…”
Just as Ling Mo reached out to part a thin mbrane blocking his path, it suddenly shivered.
He paused in surprise, then quickly realized the danger.
“Damn it!”
As he turned, Ling Mo’s hand, already poised, struck out like lightning.
However, that mont of hesitation had already cost him the initiative… The resistance in the water wasn’t much for a Zombie, but it was still a factor. As Ling Mo turned, he was already a step behind the Ambusher charging towards him.
Thus, when Ling Mo turned around, he was suddenly confronted by a huge, pale face.
Beyond the face, there was an abundance of black hair…
“Holy shit, a water ghost!”
Ling Mo’s heart skipped a beat.
At the sa ti, two Arms reached out through the black hair towards him, while his own palm was still half a foot away…
The situation felt like watching a movie in slow motion… The powerful bodily reactions of the Zombie combined with Ling Mo’s neural response speed, allowing him to clearly see this process and rapidly analyze the ensuing results…
Since the Ambusher had always lived in the water, its movents were naturally more agile than his. Although Ling Mo had the advantage of twisting his waist as he turned, he was still slightly slower… The answer was simple; he would be hit before he could fight back.
Both observation and analysis, in reality, occurred in less than a tenth of a second… As soon as he reached this conclusion, Ling Mo instinctively made another move…
“Bang!”
The two Arms flailed in front of his face and then suddenly swung to the sides.
In a rush, Ling Mo still felt his cheek brushed by sothing. Imdiately after, a thread of blood floated before his eyes…
“Damn…” Ling Mo didn’t have ti to ponder; almost simultaneously with dodging the attack, his body slid backward, finally stopping above a mbrane Production Machine.
As the Tentacles dissipated, Ling Mo also relaxed his furrowed brow.
The sudden burst had indeed put a lot of pressure on him…
This underground place was truly bizarre; had his psychic power not been strong enough, perhaps even the psychic link would have been severed, not to ntion using his abilities through Zombie Puppets.
Fortunately, in a life-or-death mont, he had managed to burst out two psychic tentacles… one to block the attack, and the other to carry him twenty ters away. Once the distance was created, his nearly leaping heart finally returned to its place.
It was good to have dodged… Next ti, he would be able to respond better.
These monsters hiding in the water were indeed tricky, with first-class ambushing skills.
But after all, this was still underwater; unless they could shrink their bodies, any movent would definitely stir the water. Ling Mo had relied on this for evasion earlier, but just a mont of carelessness had made him a target…
This indicated that the Ambusher might have been watching him for a while, only choosing this mont to strike. Perhaps from the mont he entered the water, it had followed him. For the Ambusher, this was clearly a perfect opportunity, but what it hadn’t anticipated was that Ling Mo could narrowly dodge using psychic tentacles…
“There’s sothing seriously wrong with this Zombie…”
The Monster probably thought so, as its ambush failed and it didn’t rush to follow up, but instead stayed where it was, coldly and slightly puzzled, staring at Ling Mo.
It clearly realized it had been blocked by an invisible force, and Ling Mo’s thod of movent also shocked it.
While it scrutinized Ling Mo, what it didn’t know was that the “Zombie” opposite was also observing it in shock…
Long black hair, ghastly pale skin… Two Arms hanging by its sides, giving a vibe of fish tentacles, soft and boneless. Overall, this Monster resembled the Centipede Man in the passage… except its face was much larger! To an absurd degree…
“I’ve seen many large faces… This one could definitely set a world record!” Ling Mo muttered to himself.
And not just big, but also swollen. It looked like a corpse that had been soaked for a long ti, with only the facial area bloating up to giant proportions. Eyes squished into slits, swollen lips, and all sorts of rolling whites…
“Wait!” Ling Mo suddenly rembered the Production Machine he had touched earlier… The texture of that mouth felt similar to this Monster! Could it be…
“Holy crap!”
Feeling a chill, Ling Mo couldn’t help shaking his hand again. But rembering that the entire body of water had been used to soak them for a long ti, he steeled himself against the urge to wash again… Being ambushed by the Monster indicated he was close to success.
The body of the Monster was not swollen but elongated… When stationary, its legs ca together resembling a fish tail, even the posture standing in the water had an innate fish-like grace…
“Ditch the face, stop trying to be a rmaid! Living in the sewer has already stripped you of any aesthetic!” He thought as it swayed its Arms and writhed about.
A face devoid of expression as large as a giant’s… and a body resembling a rmaid… This combination was simply deadly. Most importantly… it was male!
“Damn!”
Ling Mo felt this Monster was even stranger than the Centipede Man… However, from a naming standpoint, he felt this Monster could still fall into the category of Humanoid Monster… It hadn’t deviated too far from a human form.
“So it seems, the females are responsible for production and the males for hunting… The division of labor is quite clear.” Ling Mo quickly ca to this conclusion. However, having only encountered this one so far, he wasn’t sure if this was the correct assumption…
anwhile, the surrounding black fog suddenly surged again… As Ling Mo stared at the Monster, several huge faces suddenly erged from the water… Without exception, they squinted their Sausage mouths opening and closing as they “stared” at Ling Mo… However, like that Monster, they didn’t approach rashly…
“Damn…”
Ling Mo quickly turned his head towards his back… Sure enough, they were there too.
These monsters hadn’t rushed over yet, but… he was now surrounded.
This sweep around, Ling Mo also reluctantly concluded in his frustration-he had guessed right.
