“Cough cough… Am I not dead yet?”
Spider Man had just barely managed to open his eyes when a trendous force smashed into his abdon. He imdiately cried out, his body arching up like a shrimp.
“Want to die? Damn it, it’s not that easy! If you’re going to die, you’ll have to wait for us to slowly play you to death!”
A man’s curse ca from overhead, and then another vicious kick landed on him.
Amidst the intense pain, Spider Man struggled to take in his current situation.
This looked like a factory. All around were so large machines… A large flashlight was placed not far away, its bright beam illuminating the entire area. Around a dozen people, so sitting, so standing, were gathered at a not-so-far distance, watching him… The looks they sent his way varied-so were hateful, so cold and indifferent.
What surprised him most was a little girl, who looked at most old enough to be in kindergarten. At this mont, she was holding a long dagger. When she noticed his gaze, she stuck out her tender pink tongue to lick the blade, then gave him a sweet yet utterly terrifying smile.
Then, he finally spotted Ling Mo at the back of the crowd…
However, there were no zombies here, nor that bone-chilling, gigantic mutation beast. After another kick, a man of about thirty finally walked over and grabbed the buzz-cut man who was about to keep kicking: “Alright, Ye Kai, calm down. Now’s not the ti.”
Ye Kai shook off his arm, panting as he stopped. He shot Spider Man a vicious glare and cursed, “Tch! We’ll just let you, you damn bastard, live a little longer!”
“Captain, he’s awake.” Mu Chen, seeing Ye Kai step aside, turned and called out to Ling Mo.
“Captain? The leader of this Survivor team…?”
Spider Man was convulsing in pain. Hearing Mu Chen’s call, he struggled to raise his head.
But with one look, his solitary eye widened imdiately…
The one called captain was actually Ling Mo…
He watched as Ling Mo nimbly jumped down from the crossbar he was sitting on and walked straight toward him… Spider Man, terrified, almost scread out instinctively: “Ah-“
“Shh-“
Ling Mo had already reached him in a few steps, and directly aid the flashlight he picked up on the way right at his face.
The blinding light, coupled with Ling Mo’s half-smiling, half-nacing expression hidden in the shadows, instantly made Spider Man shut his mouth. He stared at Ling Mo, but was too scared to say a word.
From his position on the ground looking up, Ling Mo’s eyes seed to faintly glow red…
This man… Is he even human?
“That’s right. Listen up. I’m going to ask you a few questions. Answer honestly, and I’ll let you die a little more quickly.” Ling Mo continued.
Hearing the word “die,” the terrified Spider Man was instantly jolted awake. He shivered at first, then gave a “heh heh” laugh, and finally managed to calm down a bit.
The corners of Spider Man’s eyes twitched slightly. He said in a low voice, “What else do you want to ask? No matter what you want to know, my fate is to die, right… Since that’s the case, why should I tell you anything?”
“Heh… You’re not wrong. But how you die, and how long you’ll suffer before dying, that’s a different matter.” Ling Mo made no effort to hide his killing intent. He spoke calmly, “Besides, you’re not exactly young anymore. You should understand that much, right…”
“Who said I’m not young…” Spider Man suddenly raised his voice a little, “If you count it, I just turned thirty… What, you saw my face and thought I was almost fifty?”
Ling Mo was stunned for a mont, then a look of realization flashed across his face: “It’s because of those Spiders, isn’t it? No wonder… I thought there was no way they’d stay on you without any conditions… Just as I thought…”
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a glass vial, holding it up in front of Spider Man and shaking it, asking, “Tell , what’s this about?”
Spider Man focused his gaze and was imdiately startled. He seed to want to reach up and touch his own eye, but unfortunately, both hands were tied behind his back.
Inside the vial was none other than that large Spider…
Except now, it had lost all its mobility, only twitching occasionally.
Spider Man stared at it, Adam’s apple bobbing up and down.
After a long silence, he suddenly slumped in defeat and asked, “What do you an, what’s going on? Just ask.”
“What’s with this Spider? And how did it parasitize your body? Actually, you probably know what I want to ask.” Ling Mo pressed him relentlessly.
To think, these Spiders could actually cause soone to age rapidly… Ling Mo was becoming even more intrigued.
“What, are you interested in these ancestors too? Can’t bla you-I’m just an ordinary guy, but with them, I could kill people right under you Monsters’ noses…”
“Shit! Are you asking for another beating?!” Ye Kai imdiately exploded.
Ling Mo, however, said nothing, just stared at him. Spider Man let out a couple of dry laughs, then said blankly, “Them… Actually, I don’t know where they ca from either. But the one you’re holding should be the leader of a group of Spiders… I guess you’ve figured out it lived in my head, usually linked with my thoughts. But really, it mostly just sent information back to . Like giving Intelligence, or telling when the Spider group needed to eat. That kind of communication… I don’t know how to describe it. It’s not language, just a kind of signal, I guess.”
“This Spider itself doesn’t eat those things. It only feeds on my blood. But don’t be fooled by its size-its appetite is huge… Because of that, my life span got drained, and that’s why I started aging so quickly.” Spider Man spoke calmly, then lifted his eyes to look at Ling Mo, “And… the reason I wanted to kill you was just because you all stayed here… As long as you stayed, you’d find sooner or later. I looked like I could hide easily, but when it cos to face-to-face, I’m always at a disadvantage. What I feared was, once you saw a Monster like , you’d definitely kill . So, I figured I might as well strike first…”
“Cough cough…” He coughed painfully twice, then forced a smile, “Isn’t that what you wanted to ask? There, I’ve told you everything. If you’re going to do it, just get it over with!”
Having said that, he closed his eyes.
But from his trembling lips, it was clear he was still very afraid…
However, after waiting several seconds, the death he expected did not co.
In confusion, he slowly opened his eyes, only to see Ling Mo staring at him with a mocking smile, full of ridicule…
“Why aren’t you doing it?” he suddenly roared.
Ling Mo tossed the glass vial in his hand and said, “Are you so eager to die? Heh… No wonder I’ve found your attitude odd since just now…” He suddenly lowered his voice and asked, “You’re still planning to ambush us, aren’t you?”
A look of utter terror flashed across Spider Man’s face, but he quickly forced a cold laugh: “If you’ve still got questions, ask! If you keep tornting like this… I really won’t say anything more.”
“Fine.” Ling Mo caught the tossed vial in his hand and asked fiercely, “This Spider-it’s a Male Spider, isn’t it?”
“What does its gender matter to you!” Spider Man instantly flared up, “Damn it, are you ssing with ?”
“Who has ti to ss with you… If this was a female, there’d be way more Spiders in the group, right? Just these few Spiders-could they eat up a whole town? Most importantly…” Ling Mo suddenly stared intently at Spider Man, “Could one person smoke so much, drink so much? I didn’t find a single cigarette on you… Not even any traces on your fingers from long-term smoking…”
