A few minutes later, everyone inside the Falcon Camp in A City noticed the helicopter.
It was obvious that this helicopter didn’t belong to Falcon, because its body was painted with a very conspicuous fla symbol.
That was the emblem of Miracle Base…
However, many ordinary survivors still didn’t understand what that symbol ant. They all put down their work and stared at the helicopter, whispering among themselves.
Wu Pengfei, like the new recruits around him, showed a confused and surprised expression.
But soon, he felt a special kind of anxiety.
Could it be that Miracle Base had returned? Wouldn’t that an Ling Mo…
Well, in fact, this outco had already been predetermined in the eyes of many people.
How could one person, or even a few people, possibly contend with an entire camp?
At least, Wu Pengfei couldn’t do it.
Of course, Ling Mo was a formidable person… but just how formidable was he, really?
Wu Pengfei still didn’t have much of a concept. He gripped his gun tightly, thinking that now his marksmanship was quite good, maybe the gap between himself and that old friend wasn’t so big anymore?
While he was lost in thought, a voice suddenly ca from the helicopter.
Hmm? Announcing the news from the air?
Well, for the lifeless Falcon, this was indeed news worth celebrating.
But Wu Pengfei didn’t really want to listen; he felt like he needed a smoke. He’d just saved one up last month. He’d planned to enjoy it on a nice day, but now he was using it at a ti like this.
Just as he lowered his head in slight lancholy, he heard a voice from the helicopter shout, “I am Ling Mo. You’ve been occupied.”
Then Ling Mo shouted a long string of words, but Wu Pengfei didn’t catch any of it. He looked up in shock, his mind buzzing.
What’s going on?!
Who did he just say he was, and what was he here for?!
By the ti he ca back to his senses, the entire Falcon Camp in A City had fallen completely silent, and another voice echoed overhead.
This voice was familiar to all Falcon survivors: “I am Chief of Staff Su Qianrou. Please cooperate with the handover and stop any pointless resistance. Rest assured, the handover won’t affect your lives. Everything will continue as usual…”
Just like in X City, the ordinary survivors didn’t care at all about which na the camp was under.
But after Wu Pengfei recovered, he suddenly gritted his teeth and said, “I know a few troublemakers. Let’s go control them!”
“Huh?” A new recruit was stunned.
Wu Pengfei spat and cursed angrily, “Don’t just stand there! This is a golden opportunity!”
As for danger? Other than those people themselves, who else would risk their lives for them?
If they were late, they might not even get a chance to fight for credit!
“Click!” Wu Pengfei loaded his gun. Suddenly, he felt fired up again. “Let’s go take them out!”
…
It took two hours to take down Falcon Camp, but three days to integrate them.
During those three days, the busiest place was the Command Headquarters in X City, but everyone’s attention was focused on the Laboratory Building behind it.
Ling Mo and the people he brought lived there, along with those from the Central Region Camp.
Among them, Zhang Dongyao was already dead… and then Ling Mo saw soone unexpected.
“You… why… how are you at the Central Region Camp?”
When Wang Lin brought this girl before him, Ling Mo suddenly felt his mind couldn’t keep up.
But the girl, facing Ling Mo, wasn’t surprised at all. She smiled, then confidently extended her hand: “Long ti no see. I’m glad you still rember . But do you rember my na?”
“Lin… Lin Luanqiu.” Ling Mo took her hand, infected by her smile, and smiled a little himself. “It really has been… a long ti.”
“You’ve gotten more handso.” Lin Luanqiu’s next words were actually that.
Seeing Ling Mo stunned again, she imdiately burst out laughing: “Is it so bad to complint you? And logically, you should also say I’ve gotten prettier, right?”
“Uh… you’ve gotten prettier…” Ling Mo said.
It wasn’t insincere… compared to before, Lin Luanqiu looked much healthier now.
Although her complexion was still pale, her eyes were much brighter, and she seed a bit more lively than before.
But from her expression, you could still see traces of her old self, reminding Ling Mo that she hadn’t really changed.
But this wasn’t right! Not that greetings in this era should beco “You’re still alive!” or “Can’t believe you haven’t died!” or sothing, but…
“I really didn’t expect you’d end up at the Central Region Camp. Weren’t you waiting for rescue in X City back then?” Ling Mo asked.
It was still a bit sad to ntion this now… Back then, there were many survivors like Lin Luanqiu who still held hope, but now everyone had adopted a different mindset: the world was finished, and for the remaining humans, it was only a matter of ti.
If it weren’t for the zombies outside the walls, maybe these survivors would have already collapsed and gone on a rampage in despair. Thinking about it, it was truly ironic…
“Yeah…” Lin Luanqiu finally showed a trace of nostalgia. She looked at Ling Mo and said, “You know nothing about , but I know a lot about you. Well, that doesn’t seem fair, does it? So let tell you. After you left X City University, I held out with my classmates for another half month. But so people, like you, went out to look for other options, so we started to have internal disagreents. Later, I finally understood that staying put offered no hope, so I left with so people.”
“I’m sure you don’t need to go into detail about what happened next…” Lin Luanqiu sumd up her mories in one sentence, “People get driven mad. We lost a lot of people, and eventually no one trusted anymore. I was driven out, and then I t Wang Lin. Funny enough, it wasn’t until she secretly cursed you that I realized you were our common connection. With fewer people, it really was a case of ‘look down and you see each other every day’…”
At this, she smiled again and said, “I don’t know if you’ll believe it… but when I escaped back to X City this ti, I had a feeling I’d run into you. The only question was whether I’d survive long enough to see that day. So when I arrived at Falcon, I was really happy. But I never expected we’d et like this… Ling Mo, or should I call you, Falcon Boss?”
Before Ling Mo could speak, Lin Luanqiu suddenly stepped forward without warning and hugged him.
Then, Ling Mo felt a bit of dampness on his chest.
And Lin Luanqiu whispered, “It’s so good to be alive to et again…”
