"Soon," Satou replied. "Maybe in a week or two? Give everyone ti to recover and process everything that happened. Then either she visits here, or we make a trip to the Fallen Spires. Your choice."

"I think she should co here," Lyra decided

"I agree," Jessica added. "And I want to show her what we’ve built. Let her see why you care so much about this place and these people."

"I’ll send her a ssage through the communication crystal she gave ," Satou said. "Arrange a visit in about two weeks. That should give everyone enough ti to prepare."

"Good," Lyra said. Then she moved to sit on Satou’s other side, sandwiching him between herself and Jessica. "But right now, you’re going to rest. Really rest. No planning, no strategizing, no worrying about future problems. Just sleep."

"I should check on the settlent—" Satou started.

"No," both won said simultaneously.

"Everything is running fine," Lyra continued. "I’ve been managing things while you were gone. The settlent won’t collapse if you take a day to recover. So you’re going to eat a proper al, take a bath, and then sleep for at least twelve hours. That’s an order from your administrator and your healer."

"Both of us," Jessica emphasized. "dical and managerial authority. You don’t get to argue."

Satou looked between them, saw the determination in their eyes, and realized resistance was futile. "Fine. I’ll rest. But only because you’re both terrifying when you team up like this."

"Good," Lyra said with satisfaction. "Now, Jessica and I are going to make you dinner while you wash up. And then we’re all eating together and you’re telling us more about this fight with The Reaper. I want details. Every single technique you used, every close call, everything."

"She wants to update your combat records," Jessica explained with a smile. "Can’t help herself."

"I like docuntation," Lyra said defensively. "It helps us understand your capabilities and limitations. Which is important when you keep throwing yourself at impossible opponents."

Satou laughed—a real, genuine laugh that felt good after days of tension. "Alright. Bath, dinner, storytelling, sleep. I can do that."

"Good," Jessica said, standing up and pulling him to his feet. "Now go. We’ll call you when food is ready."

As Satou headed toward the bath, he heard Lyra and Jessica already discussing al options—sothing hearty and restorative, lots of protein for healing, maybe so mana-restoration herbs.

He smiled to himself. This was ho. Not the building or the settlent, but this feeling. Being cared for by people who loved him. Being part of sothing bigger than himself.

Seraphine would fit into this, he was certain. She’d be nervous at first, probably fall back into so manipulation patterns out of anxiety, but Lyra would call her on it and Jessica would offer gentle support, and eventually, she’d learn.

Eventually, she’d understand what it ant to be part of a found family instead of maintaining a collection of servants.

And that would be worth every bit of effort it took to get there.

Satou sank into the bath, letting hot water soothe his tired muscles, and for the first ti in days, he let himself truly relax.

He was ho. He was safe. He was loved.

Everything else could wait until tomorrow.

—--------

After dinner, the three of them sat in comfortable silence for a while. Satou had told them everything about the battle—every technique he’d used, every close call, the mont when Void Fang had actually wounded The Reaper and the hero’s surprised expression. Lyra had taken ntal notes the entire ti, already thinking about how to better prepare for future encounters with legendary opponents. Jessica had held his hand throughout, squeezing tightly whenever he described a particularly dangerous mont.

Now, with the dishes cleared and the evening settling in, they remained in Satou’s quarters. The main room was dimly lit by magical lights, creating a warm, intimate atmosphere. Outside, the settlent was winding down for the night—the sounds of people finishing their daily tasks, children being called ho, the peaceful routine of a community at rest.

Lyra stood first, moving to stand in front of where Satou sat. Her golden eyes held an intensity that made his breath catch. "You know," she said softly, "when Cassius sent that ssage saying you’d collapsed from mana exhaustion, that you might not survive... I realized sothing."

"What’s that?" Satou asked, his voice slightly hoarse.

"That I’d been taking you for granted. Assuming you’d always co back. Always survive. Always be here." She reached out, cupping his face with one hand. "I don’t want to make that mistake again. I don’t want to waste ti being too busy or too focused on work to show you how much you an to ."

Jessica moved to Satou’s other side, her blue eyes reflecting the magical lights. "I felt the sa way. When we thought you might die... when there was a real possibility you wouldn’t co ho..." Her voice trembled slightly. "I realized I wanted to spend every mont I could showing you how much I love you."

"I love you both too," Satou said, his heart pounding. He could feel the shift in the atmosphere, the way the air between them had beco charged with sothing beyond just affection.

"We know," Lyra said, her thumb stroking his cheek. "But we want to show you. Properly. The way we should have before you left."

Jessica’s hand found his, intertwining their fingers. "We want you to know, without any doubt, how important you are to us. How much we cherish you. How grateful we are that you ca back."

Before Satou could respond, Lyra leaned down and kissed him. It wasn’t gentle or tentative—it was deep, passionate, carrying weeks of suppressed worry and relief. Her lips moved against his with a hunger that made his head spin.

When she finally pulled back, Jessica imdiately took her place, her kiss softer but no less intense. Where Lyra was fire and demand, Jessica was warmth and devotion. Both left him breathless.

"We almost lost you," Lyra whispered against his ear, having moved behind him. Her hands slid over his shoulders, beginning to massage the tension he’d been carrying. "And we realized we’d been holding back. Being too cautious. Too worried about propriety or timing."

"But we don’t want to hold back anymore," Jessica continued, her hands coming to rest on his chest. "We want to be with you. Completely. The way we’ve wanted to since we all acknowledged our feelings."

Satou’s breath caught as Lyra’s lips found the junction of his neck and shoulder, placing hot kisses along the sensitive skin there. "Are you sure?" he managed to ask. "We don’t have to rush—"
