My Goblin System : Levelling up with my SSS Class Devouring skill Chapter 280
The cube was carefully lifted by servants using special handling tools, carried toward the dinsional rift that would transport it to a secure location.
As it passed, the runes flared briefly just for a mont and those close enough swore they heard laughter from inside. Dark, amused laughter that suggested TheReaper wasn’t as concerned about his imprisonnt as he should be.
But then the mont passed, the cube was gone through the rift, and the throne room was left in ruins.
Pope Gregorius looked at the damage and sighed heavily. "Begin repairs imdiately. Send out official announcents that there was an unfortunate accident during a training exercise. The truth about TheReaper’s sealing remains classified—only those in this room and our most trusted advisors are to know."
He turned to the four heroes. "You four perford admirably despite the overwhelming power difference. You bought ti, coordinated well, and survived against an opponent who could have killed you all instantly. That shows promise."
Gattychan straightened despite his exhaustion. "Thank you, Your Holiness."
"Now rest," the Pope continued. "Recover your strength. You have a month to train and prepare for the real battle. We’re marching against Satou’s settlent, and you’ll be leading the assault."
The heroes bowed and began filing out, talking quietly among themselves about what they’d just experienced.
Commander Elric approached the Pope and King, his expression grim. "We need to assu Satou will use this month effectively. He’s already shown rapid growth and tactical intelligence. With warning from TheReaper..."
"I know," the King said quietly. "The battle will be harder than we hoped. But we have numbers, equipnt, experience, and four overpowered heroes. It should be enough."
"Should be," Elric repeated, but his tone suggested uncertainty.
The Pope looked at where TheReaper’s ssage spell had punctured the wall, leaving a hole that opened to the sky.
"I hope we haven’t made a terrible mistake," he murmured, too quiet for anyone else to hear.
But in his heart, he feared they had.
Several Hundred Miles Away - Satou’s Settlent
Satou was in his quarters with Jessica and Lyra, finally getting a mont of rest after the chaotic hocoming, when sothing punched through the ceiling.
A spell—one made of pure light and carrying an impossible amount of power—descended toward him with enough force that his [Omniscient Nightmare Vision] scread warnings even before it arrived.
Instinct kicked in. [Shadow Absolute Movent] carried him across the room in a blink, positioning himself between the spell and the won.
His hand went to his blade, [Void Fang] beginning to activate—
Then he sensed the intent behind the spell and stopped.
This wasn’t an attack. It was a ssage.
The spell hovered there, gleaming and patient, waiting to be received.
Satou reached out cautiously and touched it.
Knowledge flooded his mind.
A voice—powerful, amused, carrying weight of centuries—spoke directly into his thoughts:
"Satou. We didn’t et in a friendly manner. My na is TheReaper, and I’m what humans call their legendary hero. Or at least, I was before I refused to help them kill you and Seraphina."
Satou’s eyes widened in disbelieved , still wondering why Theereaper had sent him this ssage suddenly , so he continued reading the letter.
"They’re coming for you. The humans. King Ferdinand and Pope Gregorius have mobilized against your settlent. Three thousand troops with siege weapons and mage support. Four newly summoned heroes. Commander Elric Stonewall leading them—he’s actually competent, killed over three hundred demon-class entities."
The ssage showed images—the throne room, the assembled forces, the four heroes.
"You’ve got maybe a month before they reach you. Maybe less if they mobilize efficiently. They’re planning to siege your settlent and eliminate you before you grow too powerful."
More information flooded through—tactics the humans typically used, Commander Elric’s preferred strategies, the capabilities of the four heroes.
"I’ve been sealed for refusing to help them. Trapped in a divine prison that’ll probably hold for at least a few years. Which is actually inconvenient because I was really looking forward to fighting you properly once you’d grown stronger."
The voice carried genuine annoyance mixed with dark amusent.
"So here’s the deal: Don’t die to these fools. They’re planning to kill you because they’re afraid of your growth rate, afraid you’ll beco too powerful to stop. Prove them right. Survive their assault. Get stronger from it. And eventually, beco powerful enough that when I break out of this seal, we can have the fight I’ve been waiting three hundred years for."
The images shifted, showing the four heroes in detail—their powers, their weaknesses, their lack of experience.
"Their heroes are dangerous but inexperienced. The villain-bane protagonist can’t handle opponents who don’t fit clear moral categories. The support healer can’t heal herself effectively. The zone controller is vulnerable outside her barriers. The amplification archer can have her attacks reflected. Learn their weaknesses. Exploit them. Survive."
One final surge of information—tactical suggestions, defensive strategies, ways to counter the human assault.
"This is my warning to you. My investnt in our future battle. Don’t waste it. Build your defenses. Gather allies. Get stronger. And most importantly—survive."
"Because when we finally fight, I want it to be glorious. I want you at your absolute peak, not cut down before reaching your potential. I want a battle that’ll either end my boredom or end my life. And I can’t have that if you die to a human army before we get the chance. The chaos I caused here will delay them—you have two weeks minimum, likely a full month before they can march. Use that ti wisely and start preparing now."
The ssage began to fade, its power exhausted.
"Good luck, Satou. Make them regret attacking you. And grow strong enough that our eventual fight becos legendary."
Then the spell dissipated, leaving only fading light.
Satou stood there in stunned silence, processing everything he’d just learned.
"What was that?" Jessica asked, concern clear in her voice.
"A warning," Satou said slowly, his mind racing through tactical implications. "And a gift. Thee Reaper just told the humans are planning to attack."
He looked at both Jessica and Lyra, his expression hardening with determination.
"We have one month to prepare. Maybe less. And we’re going to make sure they regret ever coming here."
