They reached a small clearing in the forest where Satou had spent the afternoon preparing. A blanket was spread on the grass with cushions for comfort. Nearby, a small fire pit had been set up with wood ready to light. And most impressively, there was food—actual good food that Satou had convinced the settlent’s cook to prepare.

"You did all this?" Lyra asked, her eyes wide.

"I had help," Satou admitted. "The cook prepared the food, Urgak helped carry the cushions, and Kelvin kept guard to make sure no one disturbed the setup. But the planning was all . I wanted sowhere quiet where we could talk without interruptions."

"It’s wonderful," Lyra said softly. "Satou, this is... this is really wonderful."

They settled onto the blanket, and for the first ti in days, Lyra seed to truly relax. They ate roasted at, fresh bread and talked about everything except settlent business.

Satou learned that Lyra had been born in a different goblin tribe, one that had been wiped out by human raiders when she was young. She’d survived by hiding, then spent years living alone in the forest before eventually joining the cave settlent where Satou had first t her.

"I never really fit in there," she admitted, her expression distant with mory. "I was too organized, too particular about how things should be done. The elders thought I was strange. But you..." She looked at him with warm eyes. "You saw my organizing as useful rather than weird. You gave responsibility and trusted with important things."

"Because you’re brilliant," Satou said simply. "And capable. And you care about making things better, not just accepting them as they are. Why wouldn’t I trust you?"

Lyra’s eyes glistened slightly. "Thank you for saying that."

As the sun set, painting the sky in brilliant oranges and purples, they moved on to Lyra’s next list item, watching the sunset while sharing favorite mories.

"My favorite mory from this world," Satou said, thinking carefully, "is probably the first ti I realized we might actually survive. It was right after I nad you, Grimnir, Jessica, and Kelvin. Seeing you all evolve into Hobgoblins, seeing the hope in everyone’s eyes... I knew then that we had a chance. That I could actually build sothing worth building."

"Mine is more recent," Lyra said. She was leaning slightly against Satou’s shoulder now, comfortable in a way she rarely allowed herself to be. "It’s when you ca back from that first cave settlent. When you told about establishing the new laws. I realized then that you weren’t just trying to build a settlent, you were trying to build a civilization. A place with actual values and principles. That’s when I knew I wanted to be part of this for the rest of my life."

They sat in comfortable silence as the last of the sun disappeared below the horizon, stars beginning to erge in the darkening sky.

"Ready for stargazing?" Satou asked, checking Lyra’s list. "According to your schedule, this is pri celestial viewing ti."

"My schedule knows what it’s talking about," Lyra said with a playful smile.

They lay back on the blanket, looking up at the erging stars. The sky in this world was different from Earth, constellations Satou didn’t recognize, celestial patterns that held aning to the people of this realm.

"That one is called the Warrior’s Path," Lyra said, pointing to a string of bright stars. "Legend says it guides fighters to worthy battles."

"And that one?" Satou asked, indicating a cluster that ford a rough circle.

"The Eternal Ring. Supposedly represents bonds that can’t be broken. Lovers, family, close friends—connections that last beyond death."

They spent an hour just talking and stargazing, pointing out constellations, making up stories about the ones they didn’t know, enjoying the simple pleasure of each other’s company.

Eventually, Lyra shifted, turning to her side to face Satou. "This has been perfect. Thank you for doing this."

"Thank you for asking for it," Satou replied, turning to face her as well. "I didn’t realize how much I needed a break too until we took one."

They were close now, faces only inches apart. Lyra’s eyes searched his, seeming to ask a question she wasn’t quite ready to voice.

"Lyra," Satou said softly. "Can I tell you sothing?"

"Of course." Replied Lyra

"When Jessica first told you were overworking yourself, I was worried. But also guilty. Because I realized I’d been taking you for granted. You’re always there, always working, always making sure everything runs smoothly. But I never stopped to appreciate how much of the settlent’s success is because of you. Or to acknowledge that you deserve happiness too, not just endless work."

"Satou—" said Lyra but was cut short by Satou

"I’m not finished," he continued. "When you asked for this date, my first reaction was surprise. But then I started really looking at you, really seeing you, not just as my administrator but as a person. And I realized sothing."

"What?" Lyra’s voice was barely a whisper.

"That I’m an idiot for not noticing sooner how amazing you are. How beautiful you are. How much I actually enjoy spending ti with you when I let myself." He reached up, gently brushing a strand of hair from her face. "This has been one of the best evenings I’ve had since coming to this world. And that’s entirely because I spent it with you."

Lyra’s eyes filled with tears, but she was smiling. "You an that?"

"Every word," Satou confird.

"Then can I ask you sothing else?" Lyra said, her voice trembling slightly with nerves.

"Anything." Said Satou

"Will you kiss ?" Said Lyra

Satou’s answer was to close the distance between them, his lips eting hers in a kiss that was gentle and sweet and perfect. Lyra’s hand ca up to rest against his chest, feeling his heartbeat racing as fast as her own.

When they finally pulled apart, both were smiling.

"That was nice," Lyra said, slightly breathless.

"Yeah," Satou agreed. "Really nice."

They stayed there for a while longer, talking quietly, occasionally kissing, just enjoying being together without the weight of responsibility for once.
