P/N:-

In my previous fanfic(mha: akaza), I made Izuku a blind follower of All Might, and a clown for law and order. But this ti i will write him in a much more realistic way. Yes, he will still be a blind follower of All Might, but will have a much more open mind-set.

And this chapter will be a start to that journey.

----

The class discussed what they had just witnessed, comparing it to Akira's overwhelming display of power.

Before All Might could reach into the lottery box again, Akira gently pulled Momo aside, away from the main group.

"I need to go see Grandma," he said quietly.

He was about to turn and leave when he noticed a particular look on Momo's face — sothing between disappointnt and curiosity.

"Oh, would you like to co with ?" he asked.

Momo's expression brightened imdiately. "I would appreciate that, actually."

Akira nodded and walked over to where All Might stood at the control panel.

"All Might-sensei, I need to go to the dical room real quick," Akira said.

All Might looked up from the lottery box. "Oh? Is sothing wrong, Young Shuzenji?"

"As you can see, I'm not using my dical pipe," Akira gestured to his costu, which notably lacked his signature smoking pipe. "I left it with my grandma for--"

Momo elbowed him sharply in the ribs.

"You're supposed to call her Recovery Girl here," she whispered, though loudly enough that All Might could definitely hear.

Akira coughed awkwardly. "Ahem, I an Recovery Girl. I left it with Recovery Girl."

"Sure, go ahead," All Might said with a nod.

Akira added quickly, "And can Momo co with too? You know, in case of an ergency?"

All Might had to physically stop himself from laughing. He looked at the boy who had just sliced through an entire building, then sighed internally.

No one is crazy enough to attack you, kid, All Might thought tiredly. You're so much like your grandmother and your mother.

"Sure, sure. Just go," All Might said, waving them off.

"Thanks, sensei!" Akira said cheerfully.

He and Momo walked toward the exit, Nia still nestled comfortably in Momo's arms.

***

anwhile, in the nurse's office, Izuku Midoriya lay on one of the dical beds, staring blankly at the ceiling.

Well, that happened, he thought, processing the events of the match.

Even though he'd broken his arm again, he'd managed to accomplish sothing important.

I beat Kacchan. Finally.

A small smile crossed his face at the thought. After years of being told he was worthless, after being pushed around and mocked, he'd stood his ground and won.

But then the smile faded as he looked down at his bandaged arm.

I need to learn to control this power. I can't keep destroying my body every ti I use it. All Might entrusted this quirk to , and I'm wasting it by hurting myself.

Just then, the door to the nurse's office opened with a soft creak.

A small, elderly woman walked in. Recovery Girl looked at the bed where Izuku lay and imdiately sighed deeply.

"You're here again?" she asked.

Izuku laughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of his head with his good hand. "Uh, yeah. Sorry, Recovery Girl."

She sighed again, walking over to her supply cabinet. "Let's get you patched up properly then."

"Thank you so much," Izuku said gratefully.

Just then, the door opened again.

"What's up, Gran-- "

THWACK!

Before Akira could finish his sentence, a slipper flew through the air and hit him square in the face, knocking him back a step.

Izuku's eyes widened in shock. Why did she do that?! Did he say sothing wrong?!

Momo and Nia, who had followed Akira into the room, both burst into laughter at the sight.

"Daddy, you're so stupid," Nia said between giggles.

"Yeah," Momo agreed, still laughing. "He really is."

Akira fell dramatically to the floor, one hand over his heart like he'd been mortally wounded.

"I have been betrayed," he announced mournfully to the ceiling. "By my only daughter, my only grandmother, and my only best friend. What is left for in this cruel world?"

"Get up before I kick you out of my office!" Chiyo yelled, though there was a hint of fondness in her voice.

Akira got up imdiately, dusting off his costu.

It was at this mont that sothing clicked in Izuku's mind. His eyes widened as the connections ford.

Oh yeah! I completely forgot! Izuku thought, staring at Akira with new understanding. Shuzenji-san is the grandson of Recovery Girl and the only son of the great Emberheart, Honoka Shuzenji!

His mind imdiately started racing. If I ask him nicely, would he be able to get her autograph? Emberheart used to be one of the top heroes in Japan! She's amazing! But would that be rude? Is now a good ti? Maybe I should wait....

anwhile, Chiyo had turned her attention to her grandson.

"What are you doing here anyway?" she asked, arms crossed. "Shouldn't you be watching the other matches?"

Akira put on his most innocent smile. "Well, Momo and I finished our tests already, so I thought, why not spend so quality ti with my wonderful, amazing, absolutely perfect grandmother?"

Chiyo's eyes narrowed suspiciously. "Really."

"Yep!"

"Tell the real reason."

Akira's innocent expression cracked imdiately. "For the candies and to get my spare dical pipe."

Chiyo sighed deeply. This brat. But she couldn't help the small smile that tugged at her lips.

She pointed toward her desk. "Second drawer on the right. Don't take more than five candies or I'll know."

Akira's face lit up. He walked over and kissed her wrinkled cheek. "Love you, Grandma."

"Yeah, yeah. Get off now," she said, waving him away.

While Akira rummaged through the drawer, Momo walked over to Izuku's bed, Nia still in her arms.

"Are you okay, Midoriya-san?" Momo asked with concern, looking at his bandaged arm.

Izuku imdiately felt his face heat up. A pretty girl was talking to him. Directly to him. With concern in her voice.

"Y-yeah! I'm totally fine!" he stamred, his words coming out too fast. "Thanks for asking! Really! I appreciate it! Very much!"

Nia, who had been observing the interaction from Momo's arms, suddenly fixed Izuku with an intense stare.

"You have a weird habit of hurting yourself," the cat said. "Is that a fetish?"

Izuku choked on absolutely nothing, his face turning bright red as he coughed violently.

Momo imdiately put one hand over her mouth, trying desperately not to laugh, but her shoulders were shaking with suppressed giggles.

Recovery Girl, however, didn't even try to hide her amusent. She laughed openly.

"You're damn right, little Nia," Chiyo said, walking over to Izuku's bed. She leaned down and kissed his forehead, activating her healing quirk to speed up his recovery, then handed him a gummy candy. "Here, this will help with the pain."

But then her expression turned serious, her aged eyes looking directly into Izuku's.

"Listen carefully, young man," she said, her tone shifting from playful to stern. "If you keep breaking your body every ti you use your quirk, you will sooner or later lose your arms permanently. My quirk accelerates healing, but there's a limit to how much damage even I can repair. Do you understand?"

Izuku beca serious as well, the weight of her words sinking in. He nodded firmly.

"I understand, Recovery Girl. I'll make sure to keep that in mind. I promise I'll work on controlling my power better."

She patted his shoulder, then turned to where Akira was still picking through her candy drawer.

"Akira, let's go," Chiyo called. "We can talk sowhere else. Let the kid rest properly."

Akira looked up from the drawer, his pockets now suspiciously bulkier. "Sure thing."

But as Chiyo and Momo headed toward the door with Nia, Akira paused. He looked back at Izuku, studying him.

"Actually, you two go ahead," Akira said to Momo and Chiyo. "I'll be right behind you."

Momo gave him a curious look but nodded. Chiyo simply waved her hand in acknowledgnt, and they both left the room, closing the door behind them.

Izuku looked at Akira nervously, wondering what this was about.

Finally, Akira spoke.

"I can heal your arm in five seconds," he said casually.

Izuku's eyes widened in shock. "What?"

Then his mind imdiately flashed back to the first day of school — Bakugo's shattered arm and leg, and how Akira had healed them completely with blue flas. The mory was vivid and undeniable.

He did heal Kacchan when he broke his limbs, Izuku thought, his mind racing. So why wouldn't he heal now?

"Then... why aren't you healing ?" Izuku asked, totally confused.

"Because you won't learn anything if I do."

The answer shocked Izuku.

But Akira wasn't done. He leaned against the wall as he continued.

"I watched your fight today," Akira said. "And I'm going to be completely honest with you, even without using her quirk right now, Momo would beat you in a straight fight."

Izuku just stared at him, unable to formulate a response.

"But here's the thing," Akira continued, his tone matter-of-fact rather than cruel. "A month ago, Momo couldn't throw a proper punch. She had zero combat training, no fighting instincts, nothing. But she worked her ass off, trained every day, and now she can hold her own."

He paused, letting that sink in.

"I don't know what you were doing your whole life," Akira said, and there was a hint of confusion in his voice. "Even with having such a ridiculously strong quirk, you didn't care to develop your body around it. You're like soone a stupid guy who bought a supercar but never learned how to drive."

Izuku felt each word like a physical blow.

Akira pushed off from the wall, preparing to leave.

"But if you want to improve. If you actually want to be a hero instead of just breaking yourself over and over, I'd recomnd you learn how to fight properly. Not just throw punches, but really understand combat. And more importantly, learn how your own body works. The deeper you understand your body, the easier it will be to control your quirk."

He walked toward the door, then paused with his hand on the handle. He looked back one final ti.

"This is just advice. Take it if you want. If not, ignore it. I really don't give a fuck either way. You understand your quirk better than anyone else possibly could. It would be sad to see such a cool quirk get wasted because its user destroyed himself before he could even master it."

With that, Akira opened the door and left, closing it softly behind him.

Izuku sat in the dical bed, completely stunned and bewildered.

His mind was racing, processing everything Akira had said. Every point had struck ho with uncomfortable accuracy.

He's right, Izuku thought, looking down at his bandaged arm. I've had this power for months now, and all I've managed to do is hurt myself. I keep breaking bones, and I haven't made any real progress in controlling it.

All Might gave this incredible gift, and what have I done? Broken my fingers, broken my arms, relied on Recovery Girl to patch up afterward...

I need to change. I need to actually train, not just my quirk, but my body. My fighting skills. Everything.

For the first ti since receiving One For All, Izuku began to truly understand what it ant to be prepared for power.

A quirk wasn't just a tool you had. It was sothing you needed to earn the right to use.

And he had a lot of work to do.

***

Outside in the hallway, Akira caught up with Momo and Chiyo. Nia imdiately jumped from Momo's arms to Akira's shoulder, settling into her favorite perch.

"What was that about?" Momo asked curiously.

Akira shrugged. "Just gave him so advice. Whether he takes it or not is up to him."

Chiyo looked at her grandson with a knowing expression. Despite his rough exterior and tendency toward violence, he did care in his own way.

"You're a good kid," she said quietly.

"Don't let it get around," Akira replied with a small smile. "I have a reputation to maintain."

They walked back toward Ground Beta together, ready to watch the rest of the matches unfold.
