BONUS CHAPTER: 700PS
----
Ten days later.
U.A. was glowing.
The campus had been transford into a festival. Stalls lined up in every single pathway. Food vendors, rchandise booths, sponsor tents, and dia stations stretched from the front gate all the way to the main stadium. Banners hung from every lamppost, and screens displayed the U.A. crest alongside rotating highlights from previous festivals.
And the people. God, the people.
They poured through the gates in waves. Parents carrying flags with their children's nas. Pro heroes in civilian clothes trying and failing to go unnoticed. Governnt officials with security details. Corporate recruiters with tablets and sharp eyes. Journalists with caras, and regular citizens who had bought tickets months in advance for the privilege of watching teenagers fight each other in a stadium.
Which, when you really thought about it, was kind of weird.
But who are we to judge? We are here to read a fanfic, so let's stick to that.
Back to the story.
A group of nine walked through the main gate.
They were hard to miss. Not because they were loud — though one of them was — but because the collective net worth of this particular group could have bought a small country.
Leading the group was Honoka Shuzenji, holding an event map open in front of her face, trying to navigate toward the stadium.
"It says Section A is to the left," Honoka muttered, turning the map sideways. "But that arrow is pointing up. What does up an? There's no up. We're outside."
Beside her, Reika Yaoyorozu leaned over and pointed at the map. "That's north, Honoka. The arrow is pointing north."
"Why would they use north? Just say left!"
"Because not everyone faces the sa direction, Honoka."
"Then they should."
On Honoka's other side, Xiaoqing smiled warmly and gently turned the map right-side up.
"There," Xiaoqing said. "The stadium entrance is straight ahead."
Honoka stared at the map. Then, at the stadium, which was directly in front of them. Impossible to miss even if you were blind, because you could hear the crowd from three blocks away.
"I knew that," Honoka said, folding the map and shoving it into her pocket.
"Sure you did," Reika laughed, holding her arm with Honoka's. "The woman who runs a billion-dollar empire can't read a map."
"Maps are a scam invented by people who want to feel smart."
"That doesn't even make sense."
"It doesn't have to."
Behind them walked the twins. Li Na and Li Wei, side by side. Na had her hands in her jacket pockets, looking around the campus, trying to find every piece of technology in sight. Wei had Nia in her arms.
She was massaging Nia's ears with both thumbs, working in slow circles. Nia was lted into her arms, eyes half-closed, purring with pure bliss.
"Your cat obsession needs to be studied," Na said flatly. "Seriously. By scientists in a lab."
"She's not just a cat," Wei whispered, pressing her cheek against Nia's fur. "She's perfect. Look at her little face, and her little paws."
"You've been holding her for god knows how long."
"And I'll keep hold her.."
"She's not even your cat."
"She will be by the end of the day."
Nia, eyes still half-closed, murmured, "I like this lady, she gives good scritches."
Na looked at the cat. Then at her sister. Then towards the sky, as if asking a higher power for patience.
"I'm telling i."
"i would love her too, and you know it."
Na opened her mouth, then closed it. She did know it.
Behind the twins walked two n.
Kiyomasa Yaoyorozu and Jian Li.
They were walking in an awkward silence.
Kiyomasa looked good like always. A tall, well-built man with sharp features and a composed deanour. CEO of Creative Corp. Father of Momo. A man of few words and precise opinions.
While Jian... was Jian.
Jian glanced at Kiyomasa.
Kiyomasa stared ahead.
Jian glanced harder.
Kiyomasa continued staring ahead.
Jian cleared his throat.
"So," Jian said. "Do you like my gold glasses?"
Kiyomasa turned his head slowly, and looked at the glasses. Then at Jian. Then back ahead.
"No."
Jian nodded. "Understood."
They kept walking.
More silence.
Jian tried again.
"They're custom-made, made by an Italian designer."
"They're ugly," Kiyomasa said, without turning.
"Noted."
Silence again.
Jian took a deep breath. One more attempt.
"So, your daughter is dating Honoka's son."
Kiyomasa nodded once. "Yes."
"That must be... sothing."
"It is."
Silence yet again.
Jian nodded to himself. I am going to die here.
Behind them, i and Yu Yan were watching the entire exchange. i had her hand over her mouth, trying to contain her laugh. Yu too was biting her lip, trying not to laugh.
"He's dying," i whispered.
"He deserves it," Yu whispered back.
"Should we help him?"
"I say we let him suffer."
They both giggled.
Jian, hearing the noise, turned around. He saw their faces, and his face crumbled into betrayal.
"You're all terrible people," he hissed. "Every single one of you."
"We love you too, honey," i said, blowing him a kiss.
Jian turned back to Kiyomasa. He took a deep breath. He was going to try again. He was a CEO too.
"So," Jian said. "Your daughter is dating Honoka's son."
Kiyomasa nodded once. "Yes."
"That must be... sothing."
"It is."
Silence.
Jian nodded to himself. Just kill man.

anwhile, in the Class 1-A waiting room.
Eighteen students sat or stood around the room, all wearing the standard U.A. gym uniform.
Mina leaned against the wall, tugging at her collar.
"It's so annoying that we can't wear our hero costus," she groaned. "I would look so good in mine."
Ojiro, who was stretching his tail, shrugged. "That's to keep the competition fair. So costus give a huge advantage. This way, everyone starts equal."
"That's boring, though."
At the table, Sato rubbed his hands together nervously. "I wonder what the first round is going to be."
Tokoyami, leaning against the far wall with his arms crossed, spoke without opening his eyes. "It doesn't matter what it is. We adapt, we do our best. That's all we can control."
"Easy for you to say," Kaminari said. "You have a literal shadow demon."
"Dark Shadow is not a demon."
"He literally lives inside you and cos out to fight people. That's a demon, bro."
Tokoyami didn't dignify that with a response.
Bakugo sat in the corner, arms crossed, saying nothing. He hadn't spoken since they entered the waiting room. His eyes were fixed on the door, waiting for the event to start.
Izuku was in the opposite corner, scribbling in his notebook. Muttering, as always. His pen hadn't stopped moving since he sat down.
Just then, the door opened.
Akira walked in with his hands in his pockets with Momo beside him. Both wore the standard gym uniform. Akira had his sleeves pushed up and his collar loose.
He looked around the room once, making sure everyone was present.
"Ti to move."
He turned to leave.
"Midoriya."
Shoto Todoroki stood up from his seat. He was looking across the room at Izuku, who was still hunched over his notebook.
Izuku looked up. "T-Todoroki?"
Shoto walked toward him. His eyes locked on Izuku.
He stopped in front of Izuku's desk.
"Objectively speaking," Shoto said, "I am stronger than you. You know that, right?"
Izuku swallowed, and his pen stopped moving. He didn't argue. He couldn't. It was true, and they both knew it.
"Y-yeah," Izuku managed. "You are."
"And yet," Shoto continued, his voice quiet but carrying across the silent room, "All Might has his eye on you. For so reason, he pays attention to you in a way he doesn't with anyone else."
Izuku's blood ran cold.
His heart hamred against his ribs. For a second, he thought Shoto had figured it out.
Shoto stared at him. Reading him. Then he seed to decide that the answer didn't matter right now.
He turned.
"I will beat you," he said simply. "Right here. Today."
The class was frozen, as nobody this would happen. The declaration hung in the air.
Then Shoto turned toward the door toward Akira.
The room sohow got even quieter.
Akira had stopped at the door, looking at the drama.
Shoto t his gaze.
"And I will beat you."
Akira didn't move. His crimson eyes stayed fixed on Shoto.
"What makes you think that, Todoroki?"
"Because beating you is a hurdle I must overco to reach a certain soone."
The class stared. Kaminari leaned toward Kirishima and whispered, "Dude, what is he-"
But before he could finish, Akira spoke.
"That soone," Akira said, "I assu is your father."
Dead silence.
Shoto's eyes widened. Just barely.
Akira walked back into the room slow with unhurried steps. His hands were still in his pockets.
He stopped in front of Shoto.
He was taller, so Akira had to look down. Close enough that nobody else could hear what ca next.
But Akira didn't whisper.
He said it loud enough for the entire room.
"It's funny."
The class froze.
Shoto held his gaze.
"That you think a fire user like your father can beat ."
The silence that followed was heavy. They had just heard their classmate say that he is stronger than the rank two hero.
Shoto didn't respond. His fists clenched at his sides. His left side — the fire side — twitched. A reaction he couldn't suppress.
Akira held the stare for one more second.
Then he turned and walked out.
The door closed behind him and the room finally exhaled.
Momo stayed behind. She looked at Shoto, who was still standing in the sa spot, staring at where Akira had been.
"Why would you do that, Todoroki-kun?"
Shoto didn't look at her. He turned and walked toward the other exit without a word.
Momo sighed.
Hopefully Akira goes easy on him.
She paused.
Who am I kidding? He won't.
----
Welp, Shoto is getting brave. Akria wont be to rough with him, right?👀
