Ryan stood there staring intently at the Abyssal demon.

’I see. That weapon is clearly an epic-level artifact.’

Using his support skill, he narrowed his eyes and inspected the Abyssal once again, analyzing the nurical change in his variables now that he was wielding the staff.

A thick aura of dark purple mana surrounded the weapon, intertwining and fusing directly with the demon’s magical signature, strengthening his physical body and his presence.

’Darkness?’ Ryan thought, focusing his attention on that specific piece of data. ’It’s the first ti I’ve seen that elental characteristic listed on a demon’s panel in this world...’

After checking the rest of his base stats in the translucent window, Ryan calculated the mathematical difference instantly.

His attributes had increased by at least thirty-five percent as a whole just from equipping the staff.

It was a considerably high power difference compared to the first inspection he conducted upon arriving at the hall.

Now he knew perfectly well that if that demon Badilus decided to continue the fight at that level of destructive scale, he could no longer keep acting in that provocative and lazy manner he had employed up until now.

He had to take the encounter seriously if he didn’t want to risk taking critical damage.

Instinctively, Ryan abandoned his relaxed posture. He brought his right hand to his waist, resting his fingers on the cold hilt of his chira weapon, ready to unsheathe at lightning speed at the slightest provocation.

"What the hell is that idiot Badilus doing?" one of the Infernals who had remained neutral until now muttered from the edge of the carpet, taking a couple of steps back.

"C-co on, do that quickly, sister. It’s going to hit us too!" the male twin pleaded.

"I’m coming, I’m coming," the woman replied.

Imdiately after saying that, a translucent and glowing magic do covered them both, isolating the Infernals from the imminent shockwave.

They continued acting as spectators of the contest, but now sheltered behind a heavy defensive barrier, fearing for their own lives in the face of their superior’s concentrated mana.

Badilus, the Abyssal demon, began to babble, murmurs that Ryan couldn’t quite catch; however, at least from his expression, his anger was evident.

The atmospheric pressure in the throne room changed drastically. The heavy and elegant curtains of the place, located several ters away, began to shake violently from the current of hot air being generated in the center of the hall.

Burning fire and pure darkness began to rapidly accumulate. Both elents compressed and fused in front of the tip of the epic staff, creating an enormous and suffocating sphere of destructive power.

Ryan evaluated the enemy’s casting ti and decided to interrupt it via the quick and efficient route.

"Debt Seal." Ryan pronounced sharply.

It was one of his extra debt skills, which was capable of completely silencing the enemy’s skills.

Silence... However, a sharp and sudden sound resonated directly in his earlobe. Crack. It sounded exactly as if an invisible crystal had shattered into a thousand pieces inside his own mind.

’It didn’t work?’ Ryan thought, opening his eyes in genuine and cold surprise.

Sure enough, it didn’t work. The demon’s casting wasn’t interrupted in the absolute slightest. Ryan was bewildered for an instant.

It was the first ti, since he acquired his class and exploited the system bug with his stats, that the temporary sealing skill for enemy abilities had failed like that on a target.

’Does he have so Immunity relic? Or was that caused by the epic rarity of his weapon?’

The Abyssal demon stepped his foot forward, anchoring his posture on the red carpet, and smiled maliciously upon seeing the unusual expression on Ryan’s face.

"You shouldn’t have underestimated , bastard!"

The enormous ball of fire and darkness shot from the tip of the purple gem straight toward Ryan, compressing the air in its path with a deafening roar that threatened to incinerate the entire hall.

The speed of the projectile was extre. But Ryan’s SS-rank reflexes didn’t falter.

"Mana Fortress."

The solid mana shield completely surrounded him, forming a protective barrier driven directly by his imnse Psyche reserves.

But Ryan didn’t plan to passively stay behind to take the impact and test the durability of his new defense.

While the glowing shield was forming, he drew his chira weapon from its sheath in a fluid movent, charging forward with the firm intention of slicing the enormous ball of fire and darkness exactly in half using his destructive Blazing Blade skill.

However, before he could cross the required distance... the dense ball of fire and darkness exploded prematurely in mid-air.

BOOM!

The imnse pressure of the detonation caused an expansive deluge of fire and shadows right in the center of the distance between Ryan and the Abyssal.

The explosion shook the hall’s pillars and the fire bounced off the marble, kicking up a cloud of scorching heat.

"What the hell?" Ryan pronounced, halting his charge abruptly and being left completely bewildered by the early detonation.

By his side, dissipating the smoke screens with their sole presence, two enormous wolves made entirely of pure fire had appeared.

’When did that happen?’ Ryan evaluated, looking to his sides without lowering his guard.

He hadn’t noticed it due to the extre speed of the interception, but those two fiery creatures now stood stationed, one on each side of him, as if they were his own guardians.

The loud flaming sound they emitted as they burned coordinated perfectly with their movents, emulating the steady breathing of hunting animals, granting them an astonishingly lifelike and lethal appearance.

"Argeus! Why the fuck are you interfering?!" Badilus roared, lowering his epic staff and looking toward the back of the room with his face contorted in rage.

"That is enough, Badilus." A serene, grave voice pronounced, emitting a strange sense of authority.

It was the second Abyssal demon, the one who until now had remained in absolute silence at the back of the room, guarding the stairs of the main platform.

"I will not allow the destruction of our lady’s throne room under any circumstances. You are being far too careless," said the demon nad Argeus.

The Abyssal advanced a few steps forward in an elegant manner. With every step he took along the red carpet, he raised his own magical aura exponentially.

Argeus’s aura was incredibly refined, heavy, and controlled, perfectly accompanying the authority of his words and suffocating the residual fire in the hall in an instant.
