Right at that mont, a car horn suddenly blared, cutting straight through the touching scene before them. Nine, face hidden behind a fully covered mask, stuck his head out from the window of the unusually low-key official vehicle nestled among his collection of flashy sports cars.
"Joshua, you’re way too slow, get in!" Nine raised his voice, his sharp gaze flicking toward Henry, the pale red shade of his eyes carrying a hint of bloodlust.
Henry’s expression remained utterly blank as he looked at him, not a trace of emotion on his face. By now, Joshua had already let go of him and was walking toward Nine.
Nine grinned with unrestrained cheer, and Joshua waved goodbye to Henry. "See you after the break, leader."
Henry also lifted his hand in farewell, his gaze softening only when it landed on Joshua.
Nine quietly rolled his eyes, then stepped on the accelerator and sped off.
After that incident, he finally had a driver’s license. Just thinking about spending both Christmas and New Year right next to Joshua made him feel ridiculously thrilled.
As he drove, he humd so naless tune, while Joshua sat in the passenger seat, phone in hand, scrolling nonstop.
Nine couldn’t help speaking up. "Since when did you start liking social dia? I’m sitting right here, you should be looking at !"
Joshua let out a soft laugh. "What is there to look at? Besides, I’m checking out our castle."
Nine blinked hard. "Our castle?!"
Joshua nodded confidently. "That’s right. I’ve saved enough money to buy a castle now."
Nine paused for a mont, mouth opening and closing before he finally said, "You better send pictures!"
Suddenly, sothing brushed against his hair — Joshua’s fingertips, feather-light and still a little cold from being outside. Nine jolted, feeling every fine hair on his body stand on end as a sudden heat rose from the base of his spine and swept through him, leaving his whole body burning up.
"Hey! Talk all you want, but don’t go touching people like that!" Nine yelled.
Joshua couldn’t help but find it amusing. "Relax, I’ll let you cash out half of the fa points first before I buy the castle."
Nine pressed his lips together, feeling sothing lodge in his chest, but since he was driving, there was nothing he could do about it.
Only when he finally parked the car did Nine suddenly lunge forward and wrap Joshua in a tight hug.
Joshua tightened his grip on his phone and instinctively patted Nine’s back, his voice gentle. "What’s wrong?"
Nine could only hold Joshua tightly. He spoke in a low voice, "Joshua, I swear to you, everything I do is for us, for this world, so everything can continue to exist..."
Joshua couldn’t help smiling. "Why are you suddenly so sentintal? Alright, let’s get out of the car."
With that, he tugged at Nine’s hand. Nine looked at Joshua and raised his voice, "I’ll give you our entire fortune! What’s mine is yours, and what’s yours is still yours, okay?"
Joshua burst out laughing. He pushed away Nine’s face that had co way too close, then said with a smile, "No need, I think you’ve already given more than enough."
Normally, Nine would transfer him money for no reason at all, nonstop. Joshua had already told him he didn’t need to spend that much, but Nine wouldn’t listen, saying that if he kept the money in his own account he’d just end up spending it all, so Joshua might as well spend it with him.
"But why do you suddenly want to buy a castle?"
Once they were inside the house, Nine couldn’t help asking.

Joshua answered honestly, "It looks like the castle from my past life."

The staff mber shook her head respectfully. "I cannot disclose information about our clients, sir. My sincere apologies. If the castle is ever put up for sale again, I will make sure to contact you first. I humbly ask for your understanding."
Seeing her bowing repeatedly, Louis couldn’t say anything more and simply turned to leave.
Two black cars passed each other. From Louis’s view, he could only see tightly shut, pitch-black windows.
He looked at the castle one more ti, instinctively watching the car disappear from sight, before finally murmuring, "Let’s go back." He couldn’t deny the disappointnt.
The driver obeyed and drove away.
