Now reading: Chapter 42: The Wheel Of Fortune [Part 1] from My Kingdom Building Done Right!, a Fantasy novel by Elyon.

"It’s finally ti," Leone said in a serious tone.

"Yes," Daedalus replied. "We’ve been too busy recently. But we can finally do it now!"

After completing his mission by acquiring three vassals, one of Leone’s rewards was the Wheel of Fortune.

Just like its nasake, the Wheel of Fortune is a giant wheel Leone could spin to win prizes.

He would get one free spin daily, but the chances of winning was only around twenty percent.

Why?

Because the Wheel of Fortune had fifty slots, forty of which were duds.

Daedalus advised against using it at the ti, not wanting its new Master to feel depressed from landing on duds, especially with the looming battle between the Alborin Tribe and the Black Wolf Tribe.

Now that the tribal war was behind them, the young man could finally spin the wheel of fortune!

Daedalus summoned the divine artifact, unaffected by anything except Luck.

The higher the luck, the more likely they’d win a prize from this spinning lottery.

"Let’s see..." Leone crossed his arms over his chest as he checked out the prizes he could win from the two-ter-tall spinning wheel.

The most straightforward prizes were 100 BP, 500 BP, and 1,000 BP.

The young man then looked at the symbols depicting a sword, an armor, a ring, a bottle, and a book.

There were also two slots marked with [???], which he believed were special prizes. For clarification, he decided to ask Daedalus.

"Well... I’m guessing the sword represents weapons, the armor for armors, the ring for accessories?" Leone asked.

"That’s right." Daedalus nodded. "The bottle for random potion, and the book for skills. If you win any of them, you’ll receive a Rare Ticket and can pick whatever Rare Item you want in the Arcane Store.

"The two with question marks are the best prizes. If you win them, you’ll get a Super Rare item. Unfortunately, they’re completely random. But it doesn’t really matter. Anything Super Rare will benefit you at this point in ti.

"Also, the Wheel of Fortune upgrades along with your territory rank, which ans you’ll have access to better prizes."

After hearing the grimoire’s explanation, Leone couldn’t help but feel excited.

Just as he was about to spin the wheel, Yuni entered the cave after her patrol. Perched on her arm was the Red Tail Falcon, which Blitz and Daedalus had captured in the past.

Leone had threatened to roast it over open fire if it refused to be Yuni’s pet.

The pitiful falcon had no choice but to agree. It couldn’t even change its mind as Daedalus imdiately produced a magical contract that made it Yuni’s familiar.

Fortunately, Yuni was a good master and treated the Falcon very well. She even nad it Rio.

Being Yuni’s familiar affiliated the hawk with the Alborin Tribe. To the young lady’s joy, its stats also increased when Leone completed his mission a few days ago.

"What are you all doing?" Yuni asked after seeing Leone and his familiars standing beside a giant colorful wheel.

Leone flipped his hair and smiled at the young lady. "Yuni, how about you join us in spinning this wheel? See those slots that don’t have skull marks in them? As long as that pointer doesn’t stop in them, we will win a prize!"

"Oh?" Yuni’s curiosity was piqued as she listened to Leone’s explanation about the Wheel of Fortune.

In the end, Leone agreed that if she won sothing, it would belong to her and no one else.

"Well then, ti to use my luck," Leone grinned as he placed his hand on the wheel. "Give sothing good!"

Leone spun the wheel, and upbeat music started playing.

Colorful lights flashed on the wheel’s surface as it spun, making it look like sothing truly out of this world.

A minute later, the pointer finally stopped on a black skull, which ant that Leone landed on a dud.

The happy sound disappeared, replaced by a sad sounding trombone, as if to mock Leone’s bad luck.

"... H-Hah! I was expecting that to happen," Leone said in a shaky voice. "But it’s fine. This second spin is the real deal!"

Without batting an eye, Leone spun the wheel a second ti. The sa upbeat music started playing, which had attracted so of the children into the cavern.

They watched as the colorful wheel continued to spin, even clapping their hands to the beat of the music.

A minute later, the sad trombone played once more, making Yuni giggle.

"That’s fine," Leone flipped his hair. "Don’t you know that famous saying? The third ti is the charm! Co on and give the prizeeeeeeeeee!"

Leone spun the wheel for the third ti, thinking it was about ti his luck finally manifested.

Unfortunately, his luck seed to have taken a vacation on that day, and for the third ti, the sad trombone played inside the cave.

Blitz patted its Master’s head, telling him to not take it to heart. Leone sighed deeply before stepping back from the wheel.

"Okay, it’s your turn, Yuni!" Leone crossed his arms over his chest. "You get two turns. If you get sothing, it’s yours!"

"Good." Yuni nodded and approached the wheel. She then gave it a spin and watched the children dance to the upbeat music that played with it.

Leone laughed internally, ready to tease Yuni if she hit a dud. He had even prepared a line to supposedly comfort her.

However, just as he thought the pointer would stop on a black skull, a resounding *tick* reached his ear.

This ti, the sound of a victorious trumpet echoed inside the cave, announcing that Yuni won a prize!

"Wow!" Yuni’s face lit up when she saw the symbol by the pointer. It was a sword!

Leone blinked, and the words he prepared got stuck in his throat.

A mont later, a silver ticket materialized out of thin air and flew toward Yuni’s hand.

It was as if the spinning wheel was saying, "Here you go. Congratulations!"

Yuni then spun a second ti. But she didn’t get lucky again, landing on a black skull. Even so, she still won sothing from two tries, which wasn’t bad at all.

*Squeak*

Blitz raised its hand, asking its Master if it could try spinning the wheel.

"Go ahead, Blitz," Leone replied. "Do your best!"

*Squeak!*

The flying squirrel flew to the top of the spinning wheel and started to run. The wheel spun and gained montum the faster Blitz ran.

When the squirrel thought it was enough, it jumped off the spinning wheel and landed on Leone’s shoulder.

It even nibbled on its claws, showing its nervousness.

Leone couldn’t help but smile when he saw the squirrel’s antics. However, the smile on his face froze when the pointer stopped at the 1,000 BP slot, which ant that Blitz won a prize.

The squirrel then did a fist pump before squeaking happily.

anwhile, the young man only stared helplessly at the spinning wheel that refused to give him a prize even after three spins.
