Lynceus, the new Head Hunter of the Black Wolf Tribe, couldn’t help but be surprised when they arrived in Grimjaw Mountain.

He thought Ulric would chase them out as soon as he saw them.

But he didn’t do that. Instead, he walked toward Jason and asked the young man if he was feeling well.

When Jason said no, Ulric didn’t hesitate to invite him to the cave where the Alborin Tribe lived so he could get so dicine.

The Alborin Chieftain then asked his n to take the warriors of the Black Wolf Tribe to the barracks and serve them food and drinks. As if that wasn’t surprising enough, he also arranged accommodations for them and ordered their mounts to be fed, even saying they must be tired from the long journey.

He then helped Jason get on the back of the pegasus, which flew them to the cliff on the mountain.

The warriors of the Alborin Tribe asked them to follow them as they headed deeper inside the forest.

Lynceus couldn’t help but stare at the lizard-like monsters the Alborin Tribe was using as their mounts.

They were a little over two ters tall, with long hind legs and short front claws, making them look very fierce at first glance.

The sight as they walked deeper into the forest turned scary at once. A handful of these lizard-like monsters looked down on them from the top of trees. Just imagining how these monsters would leap down and unleash a crushing bite on a person’s neck or head made Lynceus shudder.

Their green scales camouflaged them in the forest, making them the perfect ambushers to unsuspecting invaders.

Even the wolves they were riding felt anxious at the stare of these monsters.

But the big question was... where did the Alborin Tribe get them?

These monsters were not present during their invasion, and it hadn’t been that long since that happened.

However, that wasn’t the only surprise the Head Hunter saw that day. When he arrived at a clearing, he saw the barracks.

Protected by a sturdy wooden wall that stood seven ters tall and flanked by four watch towers. It was an imposing view for the Black Wolf Tribe.

Truth be told, he was very curious about what it looked like from the inside. He still couldn’t believe that such a structure was built within two weeks after their invasion.

When the mbers of the Black Wolf Tribe got inside, they couldn’t help but look around in awe.

In the distance, they could see a spacious training ground, as well as several big wooden structures that served as houses.

Lynceus glanced in the direction of the Archery Range and saw several won practicing archery.

While there were female warriors in the borderlands, most tribes encouraged them to focus on housework and child-rearing.

But here, the won were encouraged to train with weapons to protect themselves in tis of danger.

"Are you all perhaps preparing for war?" Lynceus asked in a teasing manner.

"Yes," Castor, who was one of the warriors of the Alborin Tribe, answered. "These are troubled tis, so we’ll never know when a tribe is going to invade us. It’s best to prepare now. That way, when it really happens, we will have a fighting chance."

Castor still harbored a grudge against the Black Wolf Tribe. In fact, it was not only him. All his tribe mbers feel the sa.

However, they also knew that Ulric and Jason’s father were sworn brothers. If it weren’t for that fact, they wouldn’t have tolerated the presence of the people who once tried to rob them of everything.

At this, Lynceus had nothing to say. They were indeed the ones in the wrong. He could only sigh in his heart and hoped that the Alborin Tribe would forgive them for their transgressions.

Suddenly, sothing entered the gate behind them and nudged the warrior at the rear, telling him to move aside.

The warrior naturally looked behind him with a disgruntled look. But when he saw the armored Dire Bear, he imdiately cried out in fear and stumbled as he tried to run away.

Lynceus and the other warriors also froze in place, with so even unsheathing their weapons.

The Dire Bear, Fury, gave these scrubs a side-long glance before walking toward the dining area of the barracks.

The mont it appeared, the children of the Riverfang cheered and happily ran in its direction.

Fury groaned. It didn’t co here to play but to eat. Unfortunately for it, the kids didn’t care what it was thinking!

"Hahaha! I’m the King of the Forest!" A boy around ten years old climbed on Fury’s back and made his declaration.

"No fair!" another boy shouted. "Today is my turn to be king!"

"No! It’s my turn!"

"No, mine!"

Lynceus and his n blinked in disbelief, watching a creature that could easily tear them apart being climbed on by children. They fearlessly rode on its back, hugged its legs, and even swung on its neck.

Fury let out a pitiful groan, asking the children to play with it later after it was done eating. Perhaps understanding what the bear wanted, they no longer troubled it and slid off its back.

"Carry , Fury!" a little girl spread her arms wide in front of the monster.

" too!" The older sister of the girl also pleaded, making the bear sigh as it stood on its hind legs and scooped them up in its arms.

""Yay!""

The two girls cheered happily, while the other children followed beside the bear as it walked toward the dining area.

Lynceus had no doubt in his mind that if Arlo and the Dire Bear had fought on the night of the full moon, the one who would die was still the werewolf.

"J-Just what is going on here?" Lynceus asked hoarsely. "H-How did all of this happen?"

Castor, as well as the other mbers of the Alborin Tribe, didn’t answer his question. They simply smiled, enjoying the reaction of Lynceus and his people.

In the end, they were led to the sa place where the bear had headed and where the Riverfang Tribe had cooked what the hunters gathered for the day.

Under Fury’s watchful gaze, the warriors of the Black Wolf Tribe also ate.

All of them ate in silence, doing their best to avoid Fury’s attention. They had a feeling that if they showed anything that might annoy it, the dire bear would add them to its lunch or maybe turn them to its dessert.
