Chapter 445: Chapter 437: Protector of Shortcomings

Qin Liuxi was in the shop swapping the last regulation dicine recipe for the Dongyang Marquis. He had been visiting the Daoist Room at Feichang Dao every day for a month to ditate and purify himself while also consuming the Youthful Pills specially formulated for his legs by Qin Liuxi. His legs were already greatly recovered. It’s unknown how that Daoist Room array was arranged because within a month, not only his legs but also the chronic injuries he had accumulated over the years were healed.

Now, the Dongyang Marquis looked spirited and robust, his face glowing, and he seed quite envious of the Daoist Room. He asked Qin Liuxi if it would be possible to help set up a similar array at his place.

If it was Qin Liuxi speaking, he would say that the journey is too far and too cold, so he would not go for the ti being and would consider it when there’s an opportunity in the future.

Although the Dongyang Marquis was disappointed, he didn’t insist. He only asked about his grandson’s legs and whether they could be treated, planning to have his grandson co after returning ho.

Qin Liuxi nodded and said, “You can let him co over to have a look first, but if it can be cured, this reward…”

“Don’t worry about the reward. I can give anything; even that lad can give it to you,” the Dongyang Marquis insisted as he looked at her. “My grandson is very handso, and because he has trained in martial arts for many years, he is also very strong. The Yue Family from the East Sea has comrce with demons, and we are also very wealthy. Plus, my grandson does not have other brothers to compete with him for inheritance. Look, he’s got looks, money, and lineage, a true treasure of a son-in-law, wouldn’t you say?”

He really liked Qin Liuxi a lot, who was not only attractive and capable. If he could marry her into his family, it would be an honor for his ancestors.

Qin Liuxi nearly ssed up a dicine recipe with the ink from his Wolf Brush. He tossed the brush into the brush washer and looked up, sowhat exasperated, “Old General, I am a monk who has chosen the path of Enlightennt.”

“Didn’t you say your sect does not restrict marriage?” The Dongyang Marquis blinked, adding, “Even if you marry into our family, we won’t ask you to renounce your vows. Of course, you’ll have to have a child, our family lineage is thin.”

Qin Liuxi felt increasingly absurd: “You’re getting way ahead of yourself.”

As soon as they find out I am a girl, they soon bring up marriage. It was the sa with Old Princess Consort Qi Qian and now with the Dongyang Marquis.

What happened to nobility seeking noble matches?

Where is the so-called ticulousness in this?

Seeing Qin Liuxi’s speechless expression, Chen Pi and the others were secretly laughing on the side.

“I heard that a river dragon underwent Tribulation in the East Sea; that dragon had cultivated for five hundred years. Soone obtained its Jiao Pearl. Old General, the paynt I want is this Jiao Pearl,” said Qin Liuxi, dismissing any talk of marriage, “I have no intentions in that regard, you can stop dreaming about it.”

The Dongyang Marquis felt sowhat regretful, saying, “Alright, I’ll find that Jiao Pearl for you. But when my grandson cos, you must give it so serious thought and spend more ti with him. Who knows? Maybe you’ll change your mind because of his good looks!”

What baffling self-confidence the Old General has.

The old servant couldn’t help but think of the young master far back in the East Sea. What would he think if he knew his grandfather was trying to ‘sell’ him?

Qin Liuxi placated him with a few words and handed over two dicine recipes—one was the Peace Formula, and the other was a dicine bath recipe for expelling cold-dampness and strengthening muscles and bones, along with a dietary taboo for his body.

“I won’t see you out. I wish you a safe journey, Old General.” Qin Liuxi handed a few Amulets over to him.

The Dongyang Marquis, all smiles, took them and exchanged a few pleasantries, then instructed his old servant to leave a thick wallet as paynt before leaving with his entourage.

After seeing off the Dongyang Marquis, the little ghost from the candied fruit shop drifted over but stopped at the entrance, hesitant to enter because of the runes on the sign.

Qin Liuxi saw him and walked out: “Why are you here?”

“Master, the Ding Family has made a move,” the little ghost urgently said. “They sent soone to claim that the goods in the shop are unclean and made soone sick. Now, they are causing a scene right at the shopfront.”

Qin Liuxi’s expression darkened, “Go back first and don’t let anyone disturb the shop and hurt the custors.”

The little ghost replied and swiftly left.

Qin Liuxi only then turned, took her needle bag, and also pulled out a sharp dagger.

Seeing this, Chen Pi’s eyelid twitched and he said, “Master, do you want to follow?”

“No need, they are just a few minor henchn.” Qin Liuxi inserted the dagger into her waistband.

Teng Zhao followed, and Wang Chuan, unaware of what happened, felt his master’s mood was off and wanted to follow in a daze.

“You all stay in the store, study drawing talisman and reading dical books properly, I will be back soon.” Qin Liuxi ruffled the heads of her two apprentices, and quickly stepped out the door.

Chen Pi watched her leave, thought for a mont, grabbed a handful of broken silver from the cabinet into his wallet, and went to the door to summon the beggar squatting in the alley corner.

The leading beggar was nad Gan Da. He hurried forward with a pleasing smile and asked, “Young Brother Chen, what are your orders?”

“What properties do the Ding family have in town, who is in charge, and what is not quite right? No matter how big or small, gather the information for .” Chen Pi tossed the wallet to Gan Da, “See how this money works for gathering the information. If it’s not enough, ask for more.”

Gan Da caught the wallet and hurried to return it, “To inquire so information for you, we don’t need silver, we’ve already enjoyed plenty of soup and tea from your esteed store.”

“Take it. The Ding family has the Magistrate backing them after all; so matters might require deeper digging and more manpower, hurry up.” Chen Pi waved him off.

Gan Da, upon hearing this, stuffed the wallet into his chest, saying, “Then I’ll go right away.”

Chen Pi turned around to see Teng Zhao watching him intently, and thus he explained, “Gathering information is best done by those who are from all walks of life. The Ding family dares to provoke us, the master surely feels displeased, and will definitely teach them a lesson. These pieces of information will co in handy by then.”

He revealed a sinister smile.

Teng Zhao lowered his eyes; the master was protective, and so were the people around her.

And without being told by the master, Chen Pi had already taken the initiative to do what needed to be done ahead of ti.

That was their tacit understanding.

anwhile, at the Ruyi Pavilion, Mrs. Wang watched the ruffians performing in front of the store with a steely face, her fists clenched tightly.

Such a clumsy strategy and performance, occurring after the Ding Family’s arrival, if not sent by the Ding family, then who else?

The Ding family, truly shaless.

Mrs. Wang, seeing more and more onlookers pointing and comnting, couldn’t help but grit her teeth and turn to instruct Qin iniang, “You hurry to the store at Red and White Street in Shouxi Square and find Xixi.”

Qin iniang nodded her head, but hesitated as she stepped out the door.

Mrs. Wang, seeing her motionless, followed her gaze and her expression froze.

Qin Liuxi had arrived.

A pang hit Mrs. Wang’s heart, and her eyes gradually reddened.

“All the preserved sweets from Ruyi Pavilion are what kind of poisonous stuff, oh it hurts my stomach so much, I am going to die,” the little ruffian rolled on the ground.

“Poisonous or not, shall I take a look for you?” Qin Liuxi had arrived in front of the store, watching the ruffian expressionlessly.
