Chapter 448: Chapter 440: Suffered a Stroke

Qin Liuxi rushed to Old Lady Qin’s courtyard and was t with a wave of mournful wails, furrowing her brows deeply.

“Miss has arrived.” Ju’er was guarding the door, she shouted loudly upon seeing her and pulled aside the thick wind-blocking curtain.

Qin Liuxi walked in, straight into the inner chamber, to see everyone gathered around Old Lady Qin’s bedroom, crying.

“What are you all wailing for? Crowding in the room, do you find it not stuffy enough?” Qin Liuxi roared.

The crying paused.

Everyone turned to her, seeing her grim expression, they couldn’t help but shrink back.

Mrs. Gu, with reddened eyes, approached and hoarsely said, “Xixi, quickly take a look at your grandmother.”

Qin Liuxi noticed her eyes were bloodshot, and her gaze fell on her wrist, which was bruised as if she had pinched herself.

Given the crippling incident of the third uncle, she must have been aware, but with the critical situation at hand, she dared not collapse.

At this mont, a foul sll wafted from the bed, altering everyone’s expressions, their eyes instinctively turned towards Old Lady Qin.

Qin Liuxi’s expression darkened slightly as she commanded, “Get out.”

Qin Mingzhu and others hurriedly left, the sll was unbearable.

Mrs. Xie also wanted to leave, but as a daughter-in-law, leaving might an being driven out before nightfall.

Qin Liuxi stepped forward, lifting the blanket, and the foul sll intensified, nearly causing everyone present to vomit.

She looked at Old Lady Qin’s lower body, which had lost control, then at her face which was pale and slightly askew, signs of a stroke.

“Qi Huang, go get Aunt Li to prepare so hot water, Nanny Ding, you clean up Old Lady Qin,” Qin Liuxi instructed while taking Old Lady Qin’s hand to check her pulse.

Qi Huang left as instructed.

Nanny Ding and Mrs. Gu moved to the end of the bed, aiding in undressing her.

Mrs. Xie’s eyes darted around and she said, “I’ll bring clean clothes.”

After checking the pulse, Qin Liuxi frowned, opened her dicine box, took out a dicine container, reluctantly stuffed an Angong Pill into Old Lady Qin’s mouth.

She slightly lifted Old Lady Qin, pushed the pill in and channelled it with True Qi, then laid her down flat, took out silver needles, and inserted them into several crucial points before using the needles to draw blood from ten fingers.

As she did this, hot water was quickly brought in, Nanny Ding and Mrs. Gu clumsily cleaned Old Lady Qin.

Qi Huang opened a slit in the window to vent the odor and lit incense, then took out a Detoxification Talisman from the dicine box and burned it.

When Mrs. Xie slowly brought the clothes, she saw this scene, including the variety of containers in the dicine box, and a small box.

That seed to be the Angong Pill box from Changsheng Hall.

As they redressed Old Lady Qin, Mrs. Gu and Nanny Ding sweated profusely, washed their hands and felt a breath of fresh air in the room.

It was as if the foul, dirty air had never existed, disappearing swiftly.

Mrs. Gu and others were amazed at the burning incense.

Looking at Qin Liuxi again, she was still checking Old Lady Qin’s pulse, with no response from Old Lady Qin, her heart raced with urgency but dared not speak.

Mrs. Xie then suggested, “Should we call another doctor to have a look?”

Qin Liuxi did not look at her, but Mrs. Gu said, “Xixi’s dical skills are very good.”

Mrs. Xie was sowhat skeptical, she had entered the Taoist Sect and knew so Qihuang Technique, but it was probably only superficial knowledge. At such a young age, could she really compare with those old doctors who had practiced dicine for years?

Don’t ss around and make things worse.

No sooner had this thought crossed her mind than Old Mrs. Qin on the bed gave a soft cry, her throat made a sound, and her eyelids fluttered.

She was about to wake up.

Mrs. Wang and Qin iniang rushed back at this mont, asking with a trembling voice, “How is mother?”

Mrs. Gu, with a face full of exhaustion and lingering panic, was stunned. The situation had arisen so suddenly, she seed not to have had ti to inform her sister-in-laws, only insisting on calling Qin Liuxi over. How did everyone know?

Old Mrs. Qin’s eyelids trembled as she opened her eyes, and seeing the curtains, she didn’t react at first. It wasn’t until her consciousness gradually returned that she suddenly widened her eyes and slightly turned her head. Seeing the circle of people around the bed, her lips parted, and a raspy sound, like that from a bellows, emanated from her throat.

Everyone’s faces changed several tis.

Old Mrs. Qin’s expression was also filled with panic; she opened her mouth and tears suddenly gushed out.

“Don’t move, and don’t panic. This is a stroke,” Qin Liuxi, feeling her pulse and sensing her increasing heartbeat, said gravely, “You’re still undergoing acupuncture. If you get too agitated, it could get worse, and then even I won’t be able to save you.”

Fear flitted through Old Mrs. Qin’s eyes.

Hearing the word ‘stroke’, Mrs. Wang and the others felt as if a stone had sunk in their hearts.

Old Mrs. Qin’s health was not good. Due to her pent-up frustrations and worries about the n in the northwest, from when the Qin family incident happened until now, she had been taking dicine. Although she appeared able to eat and drink, she was also declining due to her mood and age.

Now that she had suffered a stroke, her health would likely deteriorate further.

Everyone’s expressions beca as somber as water.

Qin iniang could not hold back her tears, but she dared not cry out loud, fearing it might upset Old Mrs. Qin.

Mrs. Xie then said, “A stroke, what should we do? Sister-in-law, should we call another doctor?”

“Let’s see what Xixi says.”

Old Mrs. Qin also looked towards Qin Liuxi, her fingers trembling.

“I arrived in ti, didn’t delay too long, and also gave her an Angong Pill and perford acupuncture. It shouldn’t progress to sothing more severe,” Qin Liuxi said, “But after all, she’s growing old, facial paralysis is inevitable, I will perform more acupuncture and prescribe another dicine. It will be a while before she can speak again; she needs to rest in bed during this period.”

“Xixi, will your grandmother be paralyzed?”

Qin Liuxi shook her head, “With tily treatnt, she will not be paralyzed, but she needs to stay in bed for the near future.”

Mrs. Wang and the others breathed a sigh of relief.

“However, this stroke was caused by emotional agitation. If Old Mrs. Qin herself does not adjust her state, it might recur in the future. If it happens again, at worst, she could beco paralyzed and unable to speak, even more severely…”

She did not finish her sentence, but everyone understood what that ant.

Old Mrs. Qin’s heartbeat sped up.

“You need to maintain a cheerful disposition; a rapid heartbeat is not good for you,” Qin Liuxi said, frowning.

Old Mrs. Qin closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and tried to slow her heartbeat.

Mrs. Wang had a thousand questions at that mont, but dared not ask, fearing it might agitate Old Mrs. Qin further.

Qin Liuxi removed the needles and said, “I will go prepare a prescription for you. Nanny Ding, please stay with Old Mrs. Qin.” She then looked towards Old Mrs. Qin who was looking at her, saying, “Family affairs will be handled by mother, the two aunts, and aunt-by-law. You don’t have to worry. Even the situation in the northwest will be arranged and managed. There is nothing worse than now; rest assured and recover. You should want to see them return safely.”

Old Mrs. Qin let out a low raspy sound again and glared at Qin Liuxi. Murky tears stread down her cheeks, making her look even older and more frail and helpless.
