Chapter 911: Chapter 892: I Cure All Forms of Disobedience

Actually, with the Zuo Family’s status, common ailnts like emotional distress are easily treated by calling an Imperial Physician. If that doesn’t work, it’s because the patient can’t overco it themselves. No doctor has a cure for matters of the heart.

Mrs. Zuo’s redy clearly lies with her youngest son, Zuo Zongjun, but who can turn into a living, breathing child for her?

Elder Yu himself sought out Qin Liuxi because of Qin Liuxi’s identity; she isn’t an ordinary doctor but a Daoist doctor. Mrs. Zuo insists her child isn’t dead. Whether that’s true or not, he believes Qin Liuxi will solve the mystery.

He’s really just trying his luck, treating a dead horse like a living one.

If he really isn’t dead, then he should be found. If he’s dead, she should give up.

Qin Liuxi was sowhat intrigued and asked, “No body found, how does the Zuo Family conclude he’s gone?”

Elder Yu sighed and said, “The child had an accident; he fell into an ice crevice. Last winter, he and so friends went to Chan City Lishan to admire the winter scenery and glaciers, but accidentally fell into an ice crevice. You know, if soone falls into an ice crevice, even if they survive, they need to be rescued quickly. Last year, it was severely cold with snowstorms, harsh weather, and he fell into such a place. If he survived, he must have achieved great virtue in his past life.”

“The Zuo Family didn’t search?”

“How could they not? They searched for three whole months without any solution before holding the funeral.”

Qin Liuxi lightly tapped the table and said, “Since the Old Lady has a premonition, even if the Zuo Family doesn’t believe it, wouldn’t they consult the gods? Jinhua Temple is a renowned Grand Temple. Whether he’s gone or not, asking a Taoist to inquire the gods wouldn’t hurt.”

Elder Yu touched his nose, looking sowhat embarrassed, as if wanting to say sothing but holding back.

“What’s the matter?”

Elder Yu said, “Well, that old fellow from the Zuo Family, oh, I an Imperial Censor Zuo, is a skeptical, stubborn old man who doesn’t believe in strange forces and gods. He won’t believe this. If you encounter him and he speaks indifferently, don’t take it to heart.”

Qin Liuxi laughed, “No problem, I specialize in curing disbelief!”

If they don’t believe, then make them believe. This challenge is right up her alley!

As they spoke, they arrived at the Zuo Residence.

Elder Yu sent Mu Nian to deliver the visiting card and waited for the ti it takes to drink a cup of tea, when a man in his thirties walked over, saluted with clasped hands.

“Zongnian greets Uncle.”

Elder Yu lifted the curtain of the carriage and cheerfully called by his courtesy na, “It’s Zi An.”

Zuo Zongnian personally helped him down the carriage steps and glanced inside at Qin Liuxi.

Qin Liuxi smoothly disembarked, nodding at Zuo Zongnian.

Elder Yu said, “I ca to visit your mother. This is the Junior Temple Master from Li City Qingping Temple, Daoist na Buqiu, a skilled Daoist doctor and a female crown. I want her to diagnose your mother.”

Zuo Zongnian was a bit surprised but respectfully greeted Qin Liuxi, “Greetings, Master.”

“I am unworthy of ‘Master’; you may call Daoist or Junior Temple Master,” Qin Liuxi responded with a gentle smile.

Elder Yu asked, “Is your father ho?”

Zuo Zongnian’s scalp tightened, “Father just returned.”

Two elders with a combined age of a hundred, not another confrontation!

Seeing Zuo Zongnian’s constipated expression and Elder Yu’s mildly sullen mood, Qin Liuxi raised an eyebrow, sensing there was sothing amiss.

Following Zuo Zongnian into the residence, they sat in the front yard for a cup of tea, then Elder Yu suggested visiting Mrs. Zuo.

Zuo Zongnian had no choice but to send soone to inform his father. People were already in the residence; no need for a tantrum. It was a good-hearted visit for Mother, let’s not ruin it.

Qin Liuxi noticed Zuo Zongnian’s hesitant steps and beca even more curious, instinctively glancing at Elder Yu.

Why does Zuo Zongnian look as if he’s facing a formidable enemy?

They arrived at Songhe Hall, where Mrs. Zuo lived, and Qin Liuxi spotted an elderly man in a dark blue robe with a stern deanor, eyes full of authority despite not being angry. He was about the sa age as Elder Yu but had slightly high cheekbones, thin lips, and deep-set eyes, the kind who clearly wouldn’t be easy to deal with.

Qin Liuxi examined his Children Palace carefully, finding it full and lustrous, with no depressions, a small mole at the end of the left eye sprouting so miscellaneous hairs, the color rather dark.

A mole at the end of the eye in the Children Palace indicates children, left for boys and right for girls. The color reveals parental doting and concern, and now the mole at the left eye has no scar but is dim.

This Lord Zuo shows no signs of child loss but shows signs of a child leaving ho.

Perhaps Qin Liuxi’s gaze was too intense, so Lord Zuo glanced at her, then looked at Elder Yu, snorting, “You’re here.”

With his expression indicating dissatisfaction.

Elder Yu, seeing him like this, dulled his deanor and said, “I know a Daoist doctor with good dical skills and thought to have her feel Chunniang’s pulse.”

Lord Zuo’s temples twitched, darkening his face further.

At the ntion of this na, Qin Liuxi couldn’t help but glance at Elder Yu, then at the dark-faced Lord Zuo. Oh my, she seed to have uncovered the truth!

These two elders, a century combined in age, aren’t just colleagues, but rivals in love too!

“You should call her sister-in-law,” Lord Zuo said, black-faced.

“We grew up together as childhood friends, why call her sister-in-law?” Elder Yu retorted mildly.

Wow, shocking!

Qin Liuxi fished out a small pouch of pine nuts from her sleeve, watching these two elders with their acrid nostalgia, silently forming a love-triangle drama in her mind.

Zuo Zongnian noticed the pair indeed start their confrontation, his head beginning to throb. Suddenly, he slled roasted snacks and looked over to see this Junior Temple Master eating pine nuts, eyes filled with Eight Diagram curiosity.

Head throbbed even more!

“Father, Uncle has good intentions, we should check on Mother first?” Zuo Zongnian persuaded his stern father, “Mother hasn’t been able to swallow even a bowl of porridge these days.”

Lord Zuo’s gaze dimd and said, “She insists on stubbornness, but what good will it do to summon hundreds of doctors?”

Zuo Zongnian felt so sorrow too.

Elder Yu grew sowhat angry, “So you just ignore it? You say she’s stubborn, but have you tried searching for the redy she believes in? A mother and child are connected at heart, she says the child is still here, so even if you can’t find him, can’t you try another approach? At least let her give up!”

Lord Zuo frowned.

“You’re old-fashioned, dismissing strange forces and gods, not believing at all. Yet you don’t realize when people reach despair, they instinctively seek solace, even wanting a faith, no matter how illusory, sothing to support them. Chunniang is the sa, but have you allowed her that?” Elder Yu scolded coldly.

“Yu Miao!” Lord Zuo trembled with anger, “Did you co here to argue and settle scores?”

“I ca to save Chunniang,” Elder Yu looked at Qin Liuxi, “Junior Temple Master, you…”

“The Old Lady may be right,” Qin Liuxi said, munching pine nuts and swallowing them, looking at Lord Zuo, “You haven’t lost a son.”

With those words, everyone was astonished.
