"GOOD MORNING, Wonhee-ya."
Wonhee was relieved when Yejun finally woke up after two days of deep slumber.
Yep, he was completely out for forty-eight hours.
"I thought you were already dead, Yejun-ssi," Wonhee said. It was just an exaggeration, of course. She watched over the Hunter carefully so she'd know that he was still alive. "I didn't know soone could sleep that peacefully."
Yejun stretched his arms. "Do you know that this is the first ti I slept properly in a year?"
"Really?"
"I only get one or two hours of sleep a day ever since I started hearing the Static in my head. But I don't hear that stupid thing anymore."
"Well, I'm glad to hear that."
Yejun tilted his head to one side. "You have a lot of guests, Wonhee-ya."
"Those are bodyguards that my siblings sent for ."
Female bodyguards, to be precise.
Her siblings were worried about leaving her alone in the penthouse with two n (Yejun and Ahyeon). Hence, they sent female bodyguards for her.
[They're really overprotective.]
And that reminded her...
"Yejun-ssi, do you rember what you said about my siblings' love for ..." Wonhee trailed off, then she gasped when she noticed sothing important that she should noticed earlier. "Ah. Your eyes have turned gold!"
Because of her excitent, she forgot the thing that she wanted to ask him.
"That ans the Guiding was a success," Yejun said. "Although this blissful state is temporary. I can tell that I haven't gone back to normal yet. Your Status Window should know that."
As if on cue, Wonhee's Status Window popped up in front of her.
Wonhee gasped. "I have a new mission, Yejun-ssi. The System is asking us to take the Matching Rate Test."
"Let just take a long shower," Yejun said while standing up. "The National Guide Center can wait."
Oh, right.
The National Guide Center was the center in charge of the Guides all over the country.
Moreover...
Wonhee smiled, feeling a bit excited. "There's where my brother-in-law works."
***
WONHEE realized Yejun wasn't joking when he said he'd take a long bath.
[It's been three hours already since he left.]
The X-Class Hunter, much to the annoyance of the Hunters assigned to keep an eye on him, left her penthouse using his new skill.
That skill was 'teleportation.'
"APA will lose its mind once they find out that Hwang Frost-nim acquired a new skill," Ahyeon, who was sitting next to her on the sofa, said. They were only waiting for Hwang Yejun now. "The Big 4's brand value will increase again."
"It can't be helped since the Big 4 is said to be the System's favorite," Wonhee said while reading news on her phone. "There's still no news about Semi Unnie's dungeon break mission. Even Soobin Oppa hasn't co out of his Hidden Workshop yet."
The prideful Kwon Jiwoong only agreed to Wonhee's terms when Semi said she'd take care of a troubleso dungeon for the governnt while Soobin promised to give a new weapon to APA's best Hunter.
Hence, her older siblings were working hard for her sake again.
Wonhee froze when she heard Hwang Yejun's voice in her mind. "I wonder what he ant by that..."
"By what?"
It wasn't Ahyeon.
Wonhee almost had a heart attack when Hwang Yejun suddenly appeared next to her and whispered in her ear. "I almost punched you, Yejun-ssi."
"I'm glad you didn't," Yejun said, gently poking Wonhee's curled hand that stopped mid-air. "You would have broken your dainty fingers had you punched ."
She wanted to remind Hwang Yejun that she knocked him out with a slap before.
But her brain buffered for a mont while looking at the X-Class Hunter.
[He only took a three-hour bath, and yet his visuals seem to have been upgraded.]
Hwang Yejun's outfit was almost the sa as before. He still wore a turtleneck long-sleeved shirt (it was dark gray this ti instead of black), but he put on a black suit this ti. Then he chose a pair of formal trousers and shoes this ti. He also wore a nice watch.
In short, Hwang Yejun pulled off a smart casual outfit.
Honestly, with that body, he'd look good on anything.
[And his ridiculously handso face completed his outfit.]
Plus, Hwang Yejun slled really nice.
"Chu Wonhee, we can't kiss unless our matching rate is over 70%."
Wonhee's eyes widened a bit, her cheeks turning warm from embarrassnt. "What are you talking about?"
Yejun raised an eyebrow at her. "You're looking at as if you want to kiss you."
"No, I wasn't," she denied vehently. "I just thought you look nicer than usual..."
She stopped talking when she realized she was digging her own grave.
"Ahem," Ahyeon cleared his throat a little too loudly. "Wony Noona, Hwang Frost-nim, shall we go now?"
Oh.
Ahyeon saved Wonhee from that awkward situation.
"Yes, we should go," Wonhee said, avoiding Yejun's teasing gaze. "Hunters from APA have already co to escort us."
Yejun burst out laughing as if he was amused. "Wonhee-ya, you can't be shy when I need to hug you later so that I won't "accidentally" blow up the center later~"
[What is this psycho saying now?]
***
"WELCO to the National Guide Center, Mr. Hwang and Miss Chu."
Wonhee smiled at the formal greeting that they received from Shin Geon– the Director of the National Guide Center, and also her brother-in-law. "Should I also call you formally, Mr. Shin?"
Geon smiled warmly at her. "You can call casually, my dear sister-in-law."
"Okay, Oppa~"
"Now..." Geon's gaze went past Wonhee to look at the man whose arms were wrapped around Wonhee's neck. "Hwang Frost, you bastard. How dare you hug my sister-in-law right in front of ?"
Yes, that was their actual position at the mont.
Wonhee was standing there while Hwang Yejun hugged her from behind.
"What's wrong with a Hunter hugging his Guide?" Yejun complained in a lazy yet firm manner. "There are so many people watching right now. What will you do if I suddenly lose my mind here? I need to be this close to Wonhee to stay calm."
The Guides and other staff around them flinched and avoided Hwang Yejun's cold gaze.
Everyone there knew that the X-Class Hunter wasn't joking.
"I'm alright, Oppa," Wonhee assured her brother-in-law. "Yejun-ssi asked for my permission to hug earlier."
"You're really too kind for your own good, my dear sister-in-law," Geon said while shaking his head. "This is why my husband and I can't stop worrying about you."
Yes, Geon was Soobin's husband.
[Soobin Oppa and Geon Oppa are the first Hunter and Guide, respectively, who have a 90% matching rate. It was inevitable for them to fall in love with each other. Hence, they also beca the first sa-sex married couple in the country.]
"Thank you for always worrying about , Oppa."
Geon just smiled at her. "Hee-ya, only registered Hunters and Guides can take the Matching Rate Test. Let's get you registered first, shall we?"
Wonhee smiled and nodded eagerly. "Okay, Oppa~"
***
SHIN GEON was the first A-Class Guide to ever awaken in Korea.
He was also the first person who discovered the importance of the relationship between a Hunter and their Guide.
Hence, he pushed for the foundation of the National Guide Center.
Ever since it was built six years ago, he had already seen countless Guides awaken and register in their center– sending them to either APA or other private guilds depending on their class.
The last Guide who impressed Geon was Park Ruda.
However, this ti, he was beyond impressed...
"Director, is this correct?" Hara, his assistant, asked nervously. "Or is the machine malfunctioning?"
Geon's eyes remained glued to the screen that showed Wonhee sitting on a chair.
His sister-in-law was currently inside a simple white room with only a chair inside. The chair was designed after the luxury chairs in a private jet. It wasn't an ordinary piece of furniture, of course.
Geon's husband, Yeon Soobin, made that chair that could determine one's Class.
The blinking board attached to the chair's headrest showed the complete registration form of Chu Wonhee.
"S-Class," Geon whispered in disbelief. "Chu Wonhee might be the first registered S-Class Guide in the world..."
