Now reading: Chapter 138 - 137: If I Don't Work, Will You Support Me? from My Life with Narration, a Comedy novel by Cup of Longevity Wine.

To be honest, ever since the narrator appeared, Su Qing has been quite confident in his ability to make money.

Especially since he can earn over a hundred thousand in the stock market in a month. By that calculation, even if his earning efficiency doesn't increase, he could reach an annual salary of a million. Moreover, his speed at making money will only get faster.

But hearing Shen Yi talk about houses, cars, and kids, just the thought of it all gave him imnse pressure.

In the past, he would have been content with casually buying a small 70-80 square ter place in the suburbs, most likely in an older community, or otherwise, he'd have to go all the way to the outskirts.

Even so, he'd still need Old Su to help out, as housing prices in Jiang City were still around ten thousand per square ter.

Like where he's living now, closer to the city center with more convenient transportation, naturally making it more expensive.

People are like that; when you're ordinary, you accept your fate. But once you're no longer ordinary, you inevitably want more.

In the future, he couldn't buy a diocre house, and the car would have to be at least two grades better than Old Su's. As for a wife and kids, that's irrelevant for now. He hasn't even figured out his own life, so what's the point of worrying about that? But the pressure would still be there.

Even at his current earning speed, eting Shen Yi's conditions would take at least two years. Of course, this doesn't count his freeloading. With Aunt Shen's support, his speed at making money would be incredibly fast. After all, in this world, money makes more money, and that's the quickest way to get rich.

"Goodbye, Big Yellow!"

"Goodbye, Little Su!"

"See you tomorrow!"

It was soon ti to clock out, and employees in the office were leaving in small groups, with their bags slung over their shoulders. The company was quite humane, and since business wasn't heavy during this period, rarely did anyone have to work overti.

"You're actually not rushing out today? That's a surprise!" Su Qing looked at the two dawdlers nad Wolong and Fengchu, and couldn't help but be astonished.

After all, these two were usually the first to leave after work and barely made it on ti in the morning. It was suspicious to see them so calm today.

"We're going shopping and grabbing a nice al. Want to join?" Sun Mumu invited.

Su Qing shook his head: "I have to work overti today. Maybe another ti!"

"But you got paid yesterday and ate out, why eat out again today?"

"Yesterday was with my roommate, today is with Miaomiao. It's definitely different," Sun Mumu replied boastfully.

It was then that Su Qing understood why today's young people beco poor. Find a job, treat yourself with a al, get paid, reward yourself with a al, lose a job, console yourself with a al, haven't had a decent al in days, crave one, so you must have a good al.

You can see the reasoning in his circle of friends, like Wang Xing.

Quit a job, dine with him, find a job, dine with him, fall in love, dine with him, break up, drink with him, it's always about good food. After all, eating well is the most important.

"But you're working overti? What exactly do you do overti?" Sun Mumu asked in confusion.

After all, Su Qing didn't even have an official position, and Big Yellow did all the work. What could he possibly do overti for?

"Why do you care? I just want to!"

"Okay, take your ti. Miaomiao, let's go, let's eat so good food!"

"Coming!"

Watching the two bounce off after work, Su Qing shook his head helplessly and then sat down defiantly, staring intently in the direction of Shen Yi's office.

About half an hour later, the office door creaked open, and President Shen elegantly walked out in a long dress. Surprised to see him still there, she couldn't help but be a bit surprised:

"Hey, are you... waiting for ? But I won't approve your leave unless you have a legitimate reason. Buttering up won't work. The company has its rules. If everyone requests leave without reason like you, how can the company operate normally?"

While she spoke, Shen Yi stroked Big Yellow's head lovingly. She was quite fond of this dog who never seed to learn from its mistakes.

Even though it cursed while pulling the cart every night, by the next day, it would be lively and energetic again. She had to admit that Big Yellow was a dog that never held a grudge.

Upon hearing Aunt Shen's reasoning, Su Qing's expression turned serious: "President Shen, I've thought it through. I've beco too complacent. I need to work hard, strive upwards, earn money, buy a house as soon as possible, and create a perfect ho for my future wife and kids."

Hearing this, Shen Yi burst into laughter, then walked over, patted him on the shoulder, and said with a smile: "Alright, as long as you know. Go ho!"

She said this and then turned with Big Yellow to leave, but in the next second, Su Qing's voice ca through:

"Did I let you leave?"

This made Shen Yi turn around incredulously to look at him, thinking, what did I just hear?

What do you an 'did I let you leave?' Who's the boss here, or you?

Su Qing continued, "The company's finances are in the red, yet you're leaving work early. Have you finished your tasks? The company's frawork isn't even set up yet. Can the revenue from the sales departnt support so many people? We're losing money every month. You're the boss, so you don't seem worried, but as an employee, I'm almost at my wit's end. You know that?"

Hearing this, Shen Yi got interested, crossed her arms to accentuate her chest, and looked at him with a smirk, "What, want to be the boss?"

"Don't give that cheeky grin, co over here," Su Qing said sternly. He then grabbed Shen Yi's fair wrist and pulled her to the window amidst her exclamations, pointing to a car with a little golden figure below:

"See that Rolls-Royce downstairs? The boss from the ninth floor just got it yesterday. And you?"

"It's just a car. It's not like I can't afford it," Shen Yi said nonchalantly. With her worth, she indeed could afford it, but she felt that car was too old-fashioned, not aesthetically pleasing, and most importantly, overpriced.

"It's their third one. Not long ago, I saw them driving a McLaren to work. Besides your broken business car and that rcedes, what do you have? Do you have any hair? You don't even have any hair!" Su Qing glared and shouted.

His impassioned rant made Shen Yi burst into laughter, "What's it got to do with you? Besides, how do you know I don't have hair!"

Su Qing: ???

Shen Yi flipped her luscious, dense black hair and said, "Even when I stay up late working under imnse pressure, I've never lost any hair, unlike you, scratching your head just editing a video."

Su Qing touched his own hair, feeling a wave of insecurity. Why does a boss have more hair than him? It's unfair.

"I don't care. You're so broke, yet I do all this work and you've never tipped even once! Just look at the ninth floor's boss; soone like them would tip a million at a nightclub in one night. And look at you."

"You're such a stingy boss but still want to buy a house. With what? How can I buy a house? With a hamr?"

This series of existential questions left Shen Yi speechless. Since she succeeded in her startup, when had she heard such words? Anyone who talked about her would give a thumbs up, saying she was capable. How did she suddenly beco a worthless nobody?

Moreover, I'm a boss now. Is it justifiable for an employee to call their boss broke?

If I'm broke, what does that make you? Dying of poverty?

"So, what do you want?"

Su Qing replied expressionlessly, "Overti!"

"Overti? You want , the boss, to work overti?"

"Yes, I want you to work overti. Call the clients until they don't dare to pick up your call anymore."

"I can't; I need to eat!"

The scene shifts, and there are two takeout boxes on Shen Yi's office desk.

"Good thing they're hot. Eat quickly and get to work. If a boss isn't proactive, how can you expect your employees to be? Is this company my family business? What are you looking at? Hurry and eat, then work!"

With that, Su Qing thrust a pair of chopsticks into Shen Yi's hand. Then, while she was stunned, he sat on the sofa opposite and watched her.

"Fine, so we're playing dirty, huh? I won't let you take leave then. Let's do overti! Humph!"

Shen Yi, puffing her cheeks in anger, stabbed her chopsticks into the rice and began to eat in large bites.

She realized what was happening. Su Qing was retaliating for her not approving his leave. No way she couldn't handle him after all these years!

At 9:30 PM, Shen Yi sat in her chair on pins and needles. Partly because she didn't want to work, but mainly because Su Qing had been staring at her for over four hours. No matter how charged she felt, it was too much, already overcharged.

Finally, unable to endure, Shen Yi lowered her proud head:

"Okay, okay, I was wrong, alright?"

Hearing this, Su Qing looked up and smirked, "What good is an apology? What were you wrong about?"

"I... I was wrong to provoke you. I'll approve your leave tomorrow, ok?"

To this, Su Qing took a deep breath, "Not working, are you going to support ?"

"Sure, I'll support you. Can we clock out now, my nesis?" Shen Yi smiled slightly, her charming face blushing, shyly speaking.

In response, Su Qing paused, and after a mont, cautiously called out:

"Mom!"

Shen Yi: "Pfft!"
