"I'm dood, I'm dood!"
Su Qing ran as he occasionally looked back, relieved that no one was chasing him, but he kept running through three streets before stopping, drenched in sweat.
Thinking carefully about it, he realized he had been careless, believing that after more than a year without seeing each other, he could relax his vigilance.

Terrifying, even though he has already graduated, for so reason, seeing Liu Shuzhu again still gave him chills.
"If you ran, who would pay the bill? If you had waited to pay, neither of us would have escaped. Better you suffer alone than both of us die there, right? Besides, you have nothing to do with her, what are you afraid of?"

A year later, to still get such a reaction, it's hard not to think of so dramatic backstory.

You could say it was a personality clash or differing values, but either way, he didn't fulfill his promise to marry her after graduation, and she felt played and eventually wanted to really teach him a lesson.
He was sure, the narration would convey, that even if he let her beat him up, the result probably wouldn't be what he wanted, and they might end up entangled again. He knew her nature well.
That sick, possessive love was suffocating, yet on the flip side, it also showed her deep care for him. As they say, she was more suited for living a secluded life away from the world, just the two of them, with simplicity.
"You actually ran from a woman? That's rare!" Wang Xing laughed.
At this, Su Qing glared at him: "What's so rare about it? When you can't handle it, it's better to avoid it. So, how did you get out in the end?"
"I just had a few words, paid the bill, and ran, scared so much I ran two blocks."
"Ran?"
"Yeah!"
"You didn't just walk away slowly before running?"
"No, what's wrong?"
Instantly, Su Qing slapped his forehead in frustration: "Alright, you should stay away from her in the future, and let's avoid showing up around here for a while."
If Wang Xing hadn't run, it might have been better, but by running, it just confird that he was lying earlier, indirectly proving that the person earlier was indeed him.

"What else can I do? Actually, I thought I'd lose control when I saw this, but when it ca down to it, I felt strangely calm. It's not that big of a deal, really," Wang Xing said blandly, observing his girlfriend leaning against another man.
"Do you still like her?"
"I do, but it's not suitable. A one-sided initiative is awkward and self-loathing, even a clumsy child knows when to walk away alone!"
Seeing the wanton woman in the distance, and then looking at the calm yet downcast Wang Xing: "Since you've decided, aren't you going to get a little revenge?"
Wang Xing shook his head, "Let's just forget it."
"Alright, you're the bigger person, I'll be the bad guy then."
With that, he dragged Wang Xing towards the booth.
Wang Xing might want to play nice, but he didn't. Understanding is bullshit in a situation like this; putting yourself out there to make others happy? Screw that, even as an outsider, he couldn't sleep at night without so payback.
Just when Jiang ngting and the man were embracing and making out, the guy suddenly felt soone tapping his shoulder, and a voice followed:
"Hey, buddy, save it for later, mind if her boyfriend has a word?"
Imdiately, they separated. The man turned around to see a refined face looking at him with a slight smile before he stood up angrily: "What the hell, who the hell are you!"
The commotion also startled the others around, who all shifted their focus over.
Su Qing nonchalantly pointed at Jiang ngting in his arms, smiling: "Her boyfriend wants to have a word, please wait a mont."
With that, he pulled Wang Xing from behind. The mont they saw each other, Jiang ngting's eyes filled with panic. She got up from the man's arms in a hurry, her expression turning from shy to ghostly pale.
"I... I..."
"Darling, who are they?" the man asked, puzzled.
Seeing this, Su Qing stepped forward: "I already said she's..."
Before he could finish, Wang Xing interrupted: "She looks like an ex-girlfriend of mine. Sorry, wrong person."
Then he looked at Jiang ngting, paused for a while, before smiling and saying:
"Hello."
With that, he turned and left with Su Qing.
For a mont, Jiang ngting was frozen. Those two words seed familiar. It was like five years ago, shortly after the start of their freshman year, a boy with a flushed face greeted her with the sa words.
At that mont, she suddenly panicked. It dawned on her that she might be losing soone very important, a form of panic she'd never experienced before.
