The sky was clear, the cold air biting against the skin as the sea stretched endlessly beneath it. Damon and Seras stood on the frozen platform without moving, watching until the ship slowly disappeared into the distance.
Only when it beca a faint silhouette on the horizon did Seras finally turn toward him.
She drew her sword.
Her tachi glead with a cold, rciless light. The blade humd softly in the quiet air, and her eyes sharpened, filled with murderous intent.
Damon nodded once and tossed the ornant high into the sky.
The golden eye spun through the air.
Seras’ aura suddenly grew cold.
With a single swing of her sword, it felt as though the world had lost all its color. The sky, the sea, the ice, everything blurred together into a single streak of distorted space.
The slash tore through reality itself.
At the very center of the sword strike was the eye.
Damon watched in shock at the sheer power of the attack. Space itself had been torn open even though Seras clearly had no intention of doing so.
The eye began to shake violently.
Suddenly flas made of pure gold erupted from it.
They twisted and gathered together, forming the shape of a massive bird made entirely of radiant fire. The golden fla bird screeched as it struggled against the destructive force tearing through it.
For a brief mont the world exploded with colors.
Then the eye snapped.
It shattered completely.
The flaming bird instantly beca unstable. Its form fractured as waves of immolating fire began spreading outward in a massive arc of destruction.
Damon didn’t even need to tell Matia to hide.
She instantly jumped into his shadow on her own.
Seras turned toward him just as the golden flas began to spread across the sea and sky.
Before she could react, Damon swept her off her feet.
She blinked in surprise. She had actually been preparing to cast a flying spell.
Damon didn’t pay that any mind.
Holding her tightly, he ran forward and slamd his foot down.
The ice shattered beneath his step.
Seras’ eyes widened as the ocean appeared beneath them.
For a mont she thought he planned to swim.
If that was the case, it would be disastrous. An explosion like that would attract every monster in the surrounding waters.
But Damon didn’t dive.
He ran.
His feet stepped onto the surface of the water as if it were solid ground.
This was his skill.

He ran up the side of a towering wave as if climbing a hill, then leapt off its crest.
He landed with a thunderous splash and continued running.
Behind them the ocean boiled violently as the golden flas spread across the water. The sea glowed with a brilliant golden light from the purity of the flas.
In the distance Damon could see the ship.
Then sothing moved beneath the water he was running on.
A massive shadow.
A sense of dread filled the air.
Suddenly a gigantic maw opened beneath him.
It stretched for miles in every direction.
Damon felt his scalp tingle as the enormous creature revealed itself. The ocean around him twisted violently into a massive whirlpool, dragging everything toward the monster’s mouth.
Damon bent his legs and leapt into the air.
Then again.
His danger sense exploded with warnings as he activated another skill.

A mystical technique from the Skyward Monks of Mount Vienta, Air Walk allows the user to defy gravity in short bursts. Legends say its masters could dance among clouds and duel above storms.

His hair and Seras’ hair whipped wildly in the wind.
They saw the ship several kiloters away, drifting and waiting.
Damon shifted direction in midair.
He kicked off an invisible step.
A sonic boom echoed as he launched them toward the ship.
They flew across the sky for miles before slamming directly into the ship’s barrier.
The impact made the barrier ripple like water.
Their montum died instantly, and the two of them slowly slid down before dropping onto the deck.
Damon landed on his back with Seras on top of him.
A drop of blood fell from his nose.
"Phew."
He let out a long sigh of relief.
Far away from where they were, in a prison where many outsiders were sealed, a man with golden hair and a strange mark on his forehead clutched his left eye.
Blood spilled from it.
"Lowly mortals..." he gritted his teeth.
Not far from him, the sound of chains rattled in the darkness.
Soone spoke from the shadows.
"Why the sour expression, Morticai?"
He raised his head slowly, glaring at the other prisoners.
These were outsiders, beings sealed within this world by Mugu the Wicked Prophet.
"The unknown god’s authority, the Boundary Maker... is slowly being corroded," Morticai said coldly. "Mugu’s seal will falter eventually."
A harsh laugh echoed through the prison.
"Hahaha... we’ve been saying that for thousands of years."
Another prisoner sneered from the darkness.
"We cannot leave this seal."
