Damian walked into the living room dressed in a fresh pair of black long sleeves, loose sweatpants, and black bunny slippers. Rin rested comfortably in his arms while Damian used a small towel to dry his damp hair.
"This damn fox..." Ruby muttered bitterly under her breath the mont she saw the creature.
This was exactly why they had hidden the roam mode from Damian for so long.
Princes and their primal beasts were inseparable existences. They were not master and pet, they were body and soul.
A connection forged through sothing far deeper than loyalty.
Even when Rin openly called for their deaths countless tis in the past, Lin Qui had still adored the fox completely and spent an absurd amount of ti with it.
And that was what made the situation dangerous.
Lin Qui had been the kind of man who would slaughter entire bloodlines if soone insulted his wives, yet he still tolerated Rin despite the fox repeatedly wishing death upon them.
Now they finally understood why, at a certain level of growth, the Princes of Hell always left their systems in roam mode.
The sa thing was slowly happening to Damian.
"So... since you’re free until evening, what should we do?" Hazel asked the mont Damian sat down on an empty sofa.
"Why don’t we watch a movie together?" Racheal suggested imdiately.
"I agree," Ruby added with a nod. "It’s been a while since we actually did sothing together."
The three girls turned their attention toward Damian, waiting for his response while he continued drying his hair in silence.
If he still had his phone, he probably would have found sothing else to occupy himself with. Unfortunately, his clone currently possessed it.
Since the clone was handling work in his place, it naturally needed access to calls from Twenty and the others if necessary.
"I need to get a new cellphone," Damian muttered absentmindedly.
Shaking the thought away, he finally looked toward his wives. His brows slowly furrowed as he considered the situation.
Was this seriously his only option?
Damian had never been particularly interested in movies or television.
Still...
It was raining outside, and he truly had nothing else to do.
"I should have just gone to work instead," Damian sighed inwardly.
He had created a clone specifically to free up his schedule, only to realize how painfully unattractive an empty day actually looked.
"Is this what life becos after becoming a god?" Damian’s voice echoed quietly within Rin’s mind.
"Of course not," Rin scoffed imdiately. "I assure you, once you beco a Prince of Hell, you’ll be far too busy fighting your brothers and battling enemies to sit around at ho all day. Most princes only return to the underworld when there’s a eting or sothing important requiring their presence. Aside from the Prince of Pride, everyone spends their ti farming the universe for devotees."
Damian blinked and instinctively sat upright, only to freeze when he rembered his wives were still waiting for an answer.
"If you want, I can give you a full rundown on your only human brother among the Demon Princes," Rin added casually.
Damian hesitated briefly before imdiately conceding.
The temptation of learning secrets about his brothers was infinitely more appealing than sitting through a film where the displayed powers were beneath his current abilities.
"I’m sorry, but Rin and I are having an important discussion about my brother," Damian said as he rose to his feet. "Maybe we can watch movies later."
He turned and began walking away while Rin stuck its tongue out triumphantly at Racheal, who glared at the fox as though she wanted to strangle it.
"Then let us join you," Hazel said quickly, unwilling to lose to a fox. "We can teach you everything we know too."
Damian glanced at her with a raised brow for several seconds.
Seeing the determination burning in her eyes, he eventually sighed and gave a reluctant nod.
"Co upstairs then," he muttered with a shrug before continuing toward the staircase.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Rin’s miserable growl echoed through the mansion while Damian’s wives punched the air victoriously behind him.
___ Master Bedroom ___
Damian sat against the massive bedpost with a relaxed posture, one leg stretched forward while the other remained bent slightly. Racheal and Ruby rested against both sides of his body while Hazel sat comfortably between his legs, leaning lazily against his stomach as though she belonged there.
Rin, however, stood on all four paws near the edge of the enormous bed with an expression of complete seriousness.
Floating before the fox was a whiteboard and marker suspended entirely by demonic force.
"Alright," Rin began. "I’ll tell you everything about the Prince of Pride since he was the only prince Lin Qui ever took genuine interest in because of their shared human origin. You could say he’s the only prince I possess comprehensive information on."
The marker imdiately sprang to life.
It glided across the board rapidly, sketching out a rough map of Earth before circling Texas. Yet instead of Texas, the words written across the location read:
Sleepy Hollow.
Damian briefly lowered his gaze toward his wives.
All three were completely engrossed already, waiting for Rin to continue speaking, and he could not help chuckling inwardly at the sight.
"They don’t know anything about Sol, right?" he asked ntally.
"Are you surprised?" Rin rolled its eyes.
Damian rely chuckled softly.
Even if he had known beforehand, he still would have allowed them to stay.
Their relationship might have beco strained lately, but that did not an he intended to push them away entirely.
At the end of the day they were still his wives.
"Sol was born on another Earth in 1917," Rin continued calmly.
"After World War One?" Damian asked, visibly surprised.
Rin nodded.
"Yes. However, that Earth was nothing like yours. It wasn’t boring. Humans coexisted openly with supernatural races."
Eh!?
Damian raised a brow imdiately.
"So... demons?"
Rin instantly facepald.
"Demons and angels are spiritual races," it corrected tiredly. "Werewolves, vampires, witches, and the Yaka bloodline all fall under the category of supernatural races."
"Ooh..."
Damian’s lips slowly ford an embarrassed "O" as realization struck him. He looked away awkwardly while Rin simply ignored his reaction and continued.
"In that world, the First World War was fought between humanity and the United Alliance of supernatural races," Rin explained. "Humanity lost."
The room fell noticeably quieter.
"Almost every nation around the world fell under supernatural control. Russia beca the final purely human nation remaining and was later renad the Confederation of Human States. Every other region on the planet was ruled by monsters."
Damian slowly drew in a cold breath.
His eyes remained fixed on the marked section of Texas on the floating board as a realization suddenly dawned on him.
"The Prince of Pride was born in a monster-controlled Arica?"
"Yes."
Buzz!
Damian felt inwardly shaken.
Even the fictional vampires and werewolves from movies had always seed terrifying to ordinary humans.
Now imagine living in a far less advanced world where those creatures truly existed and humanity had to wage war against them openly.
It was horrifying.
In a world like that Humans were undoubtedly at the bottom of the food chain.
