The following days after the break up was nothing but absolute silence that made Damain’s wives uncomfortable.

Not only did he choose to remain in his Chicago ho, despite their earlier agreent, He did nothing, said nothing or even spoke about the event. Damian slept all through, lost in the imaginary worlds of his mind which he had control over.

No one knew what he was doing there or what kind of dream could keep a man sleeping nonstop for days.

And what was more annoying about the entire situation, was they couldn’t do anything about it. The sa Loth who told his wives of the breakup also warned them of what Damian might do it they tried to harm Clara.

Clearly, she was more worried about what Damain might do to her, if they hurt Clara. Thankfully, they didn’t have to deal with his much as days passed by quickly

___ Four Days Later — Delaney Celebration Dinner, Chicago ___

The banquet hall occupied the highest floor of one of Chicago’s oldest private clubs. There were reporters, caras or phones.

The entire venue overlooked the city skyline through massive floor-to-ceiling windows while warm lights reflected against polished black marble and crystal chandeliers overhead.

About forty people were present. They were not random rich people but people with real power. Amongst them were Judge Rebecca Moreno of the Cook County Circuit Court, state Representative Daniel Whitmore, Liberal Party state fundraiser Elisa Graves, Chicago Deputy Mayor Henry Wallace, several major donors, two legal lobbyists, three state judicial appointnt committee mbers and one face Damian recognized imdiately as he is popular in the judicial wing of governnt in the state.

It was Patrick Beaumont, Chairman of the Illinois Judicial Selection Advisory Board. This was the man whose approval quietly determined who beca judges in the state.

These were people whose nas rarely appeared online but whose decisions shaped cities.

Soft classical music played in the background while expensive laughter moved from table to table.

And at the center was Councilman Delaney. The old man looked ten years younger and for so reason his shoulders looked brother and his smile seed brighter than usual.

After surviving what should have ended his career, he beca the center of attention once again.

Everyone wanted to hear the story and everyone wanted to et the lawyer that made it possible.

"I’m telling you. I thought I was finished." Delaney raised his wine glass and several people laughed.

He shook his head.

"No. You don’t understand. I sat in that courtroom and accepted prison might be my fatr." His face beca serious.

People exchanged looks and one woman in a navy dress smiled.

"But your attorney changed that."

Delaney looked toward the entrance and his smile widened.

"He didn’t change it. He decided it."

Bam!

At that mont the doors snapped opend and the room quieted instantly as Damian walked in.

He was dressed in his usual black suit, purple tie and black gloves.

Despite the room being filled with very influnecial people, he walked like he owned the place. Loth followed behind carrying a black cigar box and even her didn’t spare anyone a glance

Every conversation died and several won froze. Several n narrowed their eyes as the atmosphere shifted strangely.

The mont Damian entered, the room suddenly felt smaller. People had seen him online but in person it felt different.

Beautiful.

That was everyone’s first thought but then they soon noticed the hidden danger behind the beauty.

[That’s a very strong first impression] Rin could tell everyone was on their toes.

’Lets fix it.’ Damain’s eyes unleashed a pink gleam

[Sovereign Of Lust Title Activated]

Buzz.

Damian adjusted the atmosphere itself and he felt the tension softening rapidly. People unconsciously opened themselves.

So stood straighter as he passed while others smiled and then there were the weird few who looked at him longer than necessary.

Delaney stepped out of the crowd and approached with his hands thrown open.

"Damian!" He laughed. "...Thank you for coming."

Damian shook his hand while his dull eyes swept the room.

"These are them?" He asked plainly.

"These are the people I told you about." Delaney smiled.

Slowly he turned to face the crowd.

"Everyone... this is the man who dragged out of my grave." He raised his glass. "Damian Hill!"

Polite applause spread and Damian nodded once. Delaney walked him around and the introductions began officially.

"Extraordinary courtroom work." Judge Moreno smiled as she approached the handso lawyer.

"Thank you." Damian nodded.

They shared a brief conversation and all Damain got from this woman was lustful vibes. More than anything she wanted to rip his clothes apart and have a taste of him. He instantly had this judge in the bag.

The next person to approach him was Representative Whitmore. Their conversation was brief and surface level but the representative found it interesting talking to Damian, he only broke away reluctantly after Elsa Graves approached

She was the state fundraiser. A sharp woman in her mid fifties. With smart eyes. She looked Damian up and down and raw hunger reflected in her gaze rather briefly.

This woman clearly had more control than Judge Monero.

"You’re young and ambitious. You remind of myself when I was younger." She complinted and Damian nodded.

"And if I can earn just one third of your life’s achievents, I will die a happy man." Damian teased with a polite smile that made Elsa blush hard.

"You are also a gentle man. Are you sure you are not an angel?" She smiled flirtatiously.

"The only angel here is standing right before ." Damain muttered just audible between them as he stared in her eyes deeply like a man lost in love.

Cough!.

Elsa coughed awkwardly, with a reddened face. She felt her heart beating rather fast as a desire she has not felt in decades began to resurface.

Unfortunately, this private mont with the young handso lawyer did not last long as a third party jumped in.

"You’re resigning from Blacksheep."

Heads snapped at those words as gazes fell on Patrick Beaumont’s approaching figure.

"You’re aware your career just started?" he asked calmly while looking Damian in the face.

"No."

To everyone’s surprise, Damain’s response was direct. While Patrick frowned. He didn’t think this young lad would be bold enough to disagree with him publicly. He was always used to people nodding in agreent to everything he said.

This was the first ti he was getting rejected in a long while.

"When I joined the Blacksheep firm, I joined with the goal of not becoming a senior partner. But leaving a mark as the greatest attorney in the company’s history."

Damian took a glass from a waiter’s tray and approached the man. He handed the drink over to the surprised old man before he continued.

"I achieved that dream and now I am moving on to a much bigger dream." Damian explained calmly before taking a sip of his drink.

Patrick narrowed his eyes as Damian took the sip and he asked.

"What could this bigger dream of yours be?" the old man asked

"Becoming a Judge." Damian answered imdiately.

Buzz!

Several conversations nearby stopped as soone in the crowd laughed but Patrick didn’t. Instead, he looked more interested in Damian than before.

"You realize judicial appointnt isn’t popularity." He said quietly

"That’s why I’m here." Damian responded in a heartbeat.

Patrick slowly smiled at this youth. As a man who has been surrounded by skilled ass lickers, it felt refreshing to see soone direct and bold with his intent and what made it even better was that the kid had the skill to back it up.

He wasn’t empty like most youths of his age. The two made small talk before Damian began moving again. One by one, he had aningful discussions with everyone in the room.

With Wallace he discussed cri trends and judicial overload, with Whitmore he spoke about public trust in courts, with Elsa he discussed political capital and long term public image and with Moreno he spoke about judicial independence.

He didn’t try to show off, he just showed enough to make each person feel understood. With his sovereign people beca slightly more receptive and comfortable around him. Even the simplest of gestures impressed them.

Soon groups ford around him and the discussion drifted from legal things to unusual things.

"I’ve been curious about the strange healing you talked about the other day." Elsa turned to Delaney and everyone looked over.

One of the main reasons they ca here was because they were promised the secret to the sudden recovery of his well known dilapidating heart condition.

Nothing scares successful n more than the promise of death. Who would gladly separate from their hard earned fortune after decades of toiling?
