Pa! Pa!

Damian brought his hands together twice.

The sound was not loud yet the mont the claps echoed across the parish, the rows of torches layered along the walls burst to life simultaneouslym

Violent flas erupted from every holder as they danced too aggressively, twisting upward in strange spirals without releasing heat.

Purple light washed over the entire parish, turning even the white stone walls beca violet.

Everyone present stiffened and several people instinctively looked around. One man even took half a step backward before catching himself.

The sudden ignition felt less like soone lighting torches and more like the building itself had awakened.

For several seconds their attention drifted from the altar as they stared at the walls and ceilings in confusion.

Then slowly their eyes finally returned to the source of the confusion.

However, to their surprise, Damian’s burning eye behind the fox mask rested on one person amongst the 40 man crowd.

Patrick Beaumont.

The mont people noticed where he was looking, eyes naturally followed his gaze to Patrick Beaumont.

On the surface, Patrick was a man most people envied. He has wealth, status, influence, astable family, Children and even business success.

He had reached a point where his problems should have been small inconveniences rather than suffering.

At least, yhat was what everyone believed. However Damian believed otherwise.

Back at the celebration dinner, he wasn’t exactly sure what he sensed. There was a strange emptiness around the old man and more importantly the mont Delaney’s healing had been brought up at the party, Damian sensed everyone’s emotions rise rapidly but Patrick’s reaction had stood above everyone else.

His emotional spike had nearly exploded compared to the rest.

At first Damian assud greed. But looking at him, it did not feel like greed.

"You... Patrick..." the voice entered everyone’s heads.

Imdiately, people instinctively moved aside like separating to expose the chosen individual.

Soon Patrick stood alone and his expression stiffened.

"?" He looked around once before pointing awkwardly at himself.

Damian nodded slowly.

"You ca here with a heavy heart. Is it not only natural I lighten your load?" His white eye glowed faintly.

Patrick froze and his mouth parted slightly. Slowly his expression shuffled through several emotions before settling on fear.

For years he had protected this secret because revealing it solved nothing but now an opportunity to change all of that appeared before him.

How could he not be anxious?

"M... My daughter... can you cure her?" His voice ca out broken.

His hands trembled despite the parish being warm. The mont those words left his mouth Damian frowned inwardly.

’Daughter?’

anwhile the others reacted even more strongly.

Patrick Beaumont has a daughter?

Patrick Beaumont was a public figure so if he had a daughter everyone would know. But from the looks of it, Damian was not the only one shocked.

These people had known one another for decades and from their reaction it seed not one person knew Patrick had a daughter.

The revelation alone shook them.

"If you have faith, then bring her. I will rid her of the illness." Damian responded in a calm voice.

They was nothing but certainty in his voice.

Patrick stared as his heartbeat accelerated. His eyes beca slightly red because wanted to believe but he also knew reality.

"It’s not a regular disease my lord... We are talking about the Werdnig Hoffmann disease... Can you truly cure this disease?" Patrick asked again and yhe room beca silent.

Several people unconsciously inhaled sharply. Unlike before, they understood finally understood the reason behind this secret.

His daughter had been born carrying the illness from birth. She spent almost her entire life bedridden for all nine years of her life.

Currently what the world’s dical sector could offer could not cure his daughter. They were only prolonging the inevitable.

The chances of his daughter living a normal life had long been reduced to almost nothing. That was why he hid her.

Everyone looked at Damian, waiting.

"Yes... Yes I can." His answer ca casually.

Buzz.

Patrick’s eyes widened and his breathing stopped briefly. His entire body shook with excitent, fear, hope and desperation mixed together.

"I... I will have my people bring her over!" He nearly shouted.

His calm image cracked instantly. Part of him wanted to run imdiately and carry his daughter here and another part feared moving.

What if he left and this man vanished?

"Go ahead, bring her... I’m not going anywhere." Damian responded to the man’s fear he sniffed out.

Buzz!

Patrick’s face collapsed. Years of restraint cracked instantly.

"Thank you! Thank you!!!!" He bowed fully.

Then he turned and practically ran. His phone was already pressed against his ear before he reached the doors.

His voice echoed faintly as he barked orders to soone on the other side of the call. We soon we he reached, the doors opened for him and closed behind him.

Inside, silence remained.

Everyone slowly looked back toward Damian. Their expressions had changed.

Before there was only curiosity on their expressions but now they was expectations in their gaze.

Damian leaned back.

His voice entered their minds again.

"I only take requests one after the other. So we will wait until his child is strong and healthy before we can take another request."

His eye swept across the crowd.

"So if you wish to have your desires t by this God, you will have to wait."

Buzz.

Everyone exchanged glances. That sentence struck harder than expected. This ant they were also assured a miracle after he heals Patrick’s daughter.

They looked toward the altar again and Damian slowly crossed his legs. With a slight movent of his finger, a cigar appeared between his fingers.

No one saw where it ca from.

He raised it and slipped it between the exposed lips beneath the fox mask and a second later the opposite end burst into violet flas on its own.

Purple smoke spilled downward.

And from within Rin erged with a burst of violet smoke. The fox stretched lazily on Damian’s lap before it curled quietly and laid down.

Damian slowly stroked its fur from above the altar while staring everyone down like a deity looking down on mortals
