Zelir followed his established strategy and, as usual, allocated all four attribute points to Intelligence.

His Intelligence had successfully broken the 80-point threshold.
’He just wasn’t sure if this increase would be enough to help him break through his bottleneck and et the requirents to advance to Junior Mage.’
In addition, Zelir had also obtained a new Magic skill—the Evil Words Skill.
Evil Words Skill, Analysis Progress: 2%
’This was another Magic skill that started with so progress as soon as he acquired it, so its Magic Level probably wasn’t too high.’
Still, Zelir was quite looking forward to the Evil Words Skill. He had never encountered Spirit Magic before.
Besides, based on its performance just now, the Evil Words Skill’s control capabilities weren’t weak, either. It had managed to slow Marcus and the other two for several seconds.
’If used properly, it would be an excellent skill.’
The air was thick with the heavy stench of blood. The ground was littered with the mangled limbs and torsos of goblins. Fresh blood seeped into the soil, tracing slow, winding paths, a nauseating sight.
"It’s over..."
Marcus plunged his Battle Saber into the dirt, leaning on the hilt as he gasped for breath, sweat dripping from his chin.
"Haha... HAHAHAHA!"
Gak’s excitent hadn’t faded yet. He let out a hearty laugh. "Now that was a satisfying mission!"
After the White-haired Goblin was killed, Gak could finally cut loose and fight without restraint.
He had cleaved those little runts in two one by one, like splitting firewood, finally getting so payback for the frustration of being suppressed earlier.
Hill leaned against the cave entrance, wiping the crimson liquid from her dagger with a white cloth.
Her movents were elegant, but her eyes held a hint of detached emotion that hadn’t been there before.
Not a single drop of goblin blood had touched Hill.
Zelir glanced over inadvertently, and an inexplicable chill ran down his spine.
’The gaze of an Assassin is truly terrifying.’
Normally, the next step would be to clean the battlefield and collect the spoils of war.
But goblins were an exception.
Unlike other "Simple" grade Demons like Slis, which yielded Demon Cores, goblins had nothing.
You couldn’t even eat their at—it was contaminated and would cause poisoning if consud.
One could say that the existence of these things was completely worthless to humanity.
For this very reason, the bounty for goblins in various commissions was significantly higher than for other "Simple" grade Demons. A Sli was worth Three Silver Coins, but a goblin was worth Ten Silver Coins.
If the pay wasn’t high, no one would be willing to take the job.
Marcus and the others picked through the battlefield, collecting the goblins’ left ears. As they did, they nudged aside severed limbs with the tips of their boots, checking for any weapons worth salvaging.
The results, however, were sorely disappointing.
The goblins’ equipnt was extrely shoddy. Due to a lack of maintenance, most of it was completely rusted and damaged, rendering it utterly worthless.
They would be lucky to get a few Silver Coins for it all at a Blacksmith Shop, and they’d have to lug the dead weight all the way back. In the end, they decided to just leave it.
After all, the bounty for this mission was generous enough.
While the others were busy, Zelir trotted over to the White-haired Goblin.
He had seen it clearly just now: the White-haired Goblin had waved the staff in its hand when casting the Evil Words Skill.
’If this is a Magic Wand, I’ve struck it rich!’
’Even a low-quality one should be worth dozens of Gold Coins, right?’
The White-haired Goblin’s corpse lay quietly on the ground, its hand still clutching the Bone Staff.
Zelir picked it up and examined it closely, even trying to channel his Magic Power into it.
However, he quickly discovered it was just an ordinary leg bone—probably a human one—with several rows of tiny teeth marks on it.
"Dammit... what bad luck," Zelir muttered in disgust, tossing it aside.
"Alright, it’s all just scrap tal this ti. Let’s not waste any more ti."
After the count was finished, Marcus cleared his throat and began his report.
"For this mission, we killed a total of three Beastman Goblins, one White-haired Goblin, and twenty-five regular goblins."
"Beastman Goblins are worth seven gold coins each, the White-haired Goblin is worth ten gold coins, and regular goblins are worth ten silver coins."
"Calculated according to the commission’s bounty, we’ll get a total of thirty-three gold coins and fifty silver coins. Add to that the extra bounty of twenty gold coins from the Association, and the final reward is fifty-three gold coins and fifty silver coins."
"Everyone put in a lot of effort during this battle, but we all played different roles. As for the distribution, I will do my best to be fair and just. If anyone has any objections, you can voice them now."
"Zelir gets twelve gold coins. Valles and Hill each get ten gold coins. Of the remaining twenty-one gold coins and fifty silver coins, after deducting the five silver coins for the carriage rental, the rest will be split evenly between myself, Gray, and Gak. We’ll each get seven gold coins and fifteen silver coins."
After speaking, Marcus looked around at the group. "Any problems?"
Gray and Gak shrugged, indicating they had no objections.
A reward of seven gold coins and fifteen silver coins... they’d only get a haul like that by getting lucky with a mission like this. Otherwise, who knows how long they’d have to slave away on other commissions.
Besides, they weren’t the core mbers of the team. Getting this much money was already great.
Everyone else also accepted this distribution plan.
Zelir’s contributions in this battle were plain for all to see.
His Arcane Missile had delivered the critical blow that quickly finished off the White-haired Goblin, and then he took out a Beastman Goblin.
Valles’s Thunder Arrow had also played a huge role, helping to clear out the small fry and creating an opportunity for Zelir.
And when the three-man bait team was hit with crowd control, Hill had stepped forward to draw the attention of all the goblins. Otherwise, Marcus and the others would likely have suffered casualties.
Moreover, one of them was a Mage and the other two were of a Middle Level Class. According to the unwritten rules, it was only right that they received a larger share.
"Alright then."
Marcus clapped his hands. "Now, let’s search the cave for the Rod Squad’s remains."
"You guys go in. I’ll keep watch out here," Hill said, making a gesture.
"Why?" Gak asked, scratching his head.
"Because it stinks," Hill answered bluntly.
Zelir cast a Lighting Skill, letting the orb of light float above the group, then made a gesture as well.
"You guys go first."
"Why?" Gak asked again.
"Because I don’t like being sandwiched in the middle," Zelir also answered bluntly.
’It feels unsafe.’
The light illuminated the cave’s interior, and the scene was much as Zelir had imagined.
Because Beastman Goblins lived here, the cave passage was wide enough not to restrict movent, but the rock walls were wet and slippery, covered in so kind of unknown sli.
The ground underfoot was scattered with the skeletal remains of beasts, occasionally mixed with goblin feces. The stench was overwhelming.
The sides of the cave had been dug out by the goblins into simple, honeycomb-like storage nests. They were lined with dry grass and looked like places where the regular goblins huddled together to rest.
