The four elders exchanged peculiar glances at the guy who claid to be Cao Zhen. The man knew nothing, so why make him the captain?
Perhaps it was because his strength surpassed the others.
At the very least, he must be stronger than Venerable Wu Wei and Venerable Bai Chan; otherwise, the captainship would have gone to one of the venerables or Venerable Bai Chan, not this Cao Zhen.
Venerable Huang Tu opened his mouth, continuing the previous topic, and began introducing the ten newcors across from him: "You were just asking about resources, right? Indeed, the resources deep within are abundant, far beyond your imagination. Otherwise, our Human Clan wouldn’t have sent us to compete for them, and those six alien races wouldn’t be constantly fighting here!
However, as for exactly how many resources there are deep in the Outer Heaven Battlefield, I don’t know, because I haven’t ventured into the core of the battlefield myself.
Of course, it doesn’t an that resources and treasures can only be seized by entering the depths. Even on the periphery, resources might be found sowhere, just undiscovered by others.
Perhaps those resources are unattainable for others, but for soone destined, like you, it can be directly activated. Besides, another reason resources can be seized on the periphery is that so of the battlefield’s resources are mobile, able to fly and wander on their own.
So areas may have been explored already, but it’s unpredictable when so treasure might pass by.
Indeed, the Outer Heaven Battlefield is rich in various energies, which are among the most precious of resources.
If we don’t seize these resources, they will fall into the hands of the alien races, strengthening other clans while we would grow weaker. Hence, the order to seize resources."
As he spoke, he turned to Cao Zhen and said, "Captain, I’ll leave the rest to you. I have been mostly active in Broken Chaos City and am not familiar enough with the outside battlefield."
"My understanding of the outside battlefield is about the sa as yours. Besides, the experiences I’ve had on the Outer Heaven Battlefield aren’t useful to you, nor are they suitable for you."
What could he possibly teach? He had transford into an alien race and was all about fighting and killing. If these n were to emulate him, they’d all likely perish on the Outer Heaven Battlefield.
"I see."
The people around remained silent, yet the ten newcors started to secretly discuss amongst themselves through sound transmissions.
"Why do I feel like this Cao Zhen seems unreliable?"
"You don’t just feel it; he is indeed unreliable. Didn’t you notice that he said nothing and left everything for others to say?"
"Exactly. I even suspect his understanding of the Outer Heaven Battlefield is as superficial as ours. Besides, he’s only Late Immortality Regainnt Realm, whereas my senior brother and I arrived on the sa day. He got lucky and already set off, led by soone who is at Peak Immortality Regainnt Realm."
"What can we do? We can only consider ourselves unlucky."
Cao Zhen paid no heed to these people and directly returned to his temporary chamber, where he closed his eyes to rest.
The night passed without words, and the next morning, everyone set out to begin their journey. Alongside them, three additional groups also departed.
Though Cao Zhen was the captain, Venerable Huang Tu appeared more like the actual team leader, selecting advance targets and pointing out important places on the map to the group.
Before they knew it, seven days had passed. The ten newcors gradually relaxed after their initial tension.
"This area is called Chaos Turbulent Mountain. Sotis, terrifying Chaos of Void inexplicably erges here."
Venerable Huang Tu pointed at the terrain ahead, full of interwoven cracks that seed to be repeatedly slashed by a Giant Axe, and introduced it to the ten newcors behind, "No one knows when Chaos of Void might appear here. Therefore, when people pass through this area, they do so quickly, and no clan lingers here for long."
His words imdiately made the relaxed group tense once more.
"There’s no need to be like this." Venerable Huang Tu shrugged off any aloofness. He smiled and reassured everyone with a wave, "In truth, I’ve only heard about it. I’ve been here for a hundred years, always near Broken Chaos City, and never encountered Chaos of Void in that ti.
Throughout this century, Chaos of Void has never shown up. In fact, encountering Chaos of Void can be beneficial; it’s said that treasures appear after it does."
Just as Venerable Huang Tu’s words fell, almost as a response, the void behind them began to tremor, with visible cracks erging.
Within the ti it took for a single breath, the sound of shattering, like sothing breaking apart, continuously echoed.
"The void is breaking! Chaos of Void, run!"
Venerable Huang Tu quickly reacted. He never imagined that right after saying that he’d never seen Chaos of Void, it would suddenly appear.
Everybody began to flee towards the distance. At this mont, they no longer cared about being exposed, all taking to the skies, flying as fast as they could. Behind them, after the constant void detonations, masses of Chaos of Void shot out.
Even more terrifyingly, the void behind them continued to explode.
The group sprinted forward with all their speed, and soon, silhouettes began to appear on their sides.
