"Alright, thank you!"

Zhou Can took the tea with both hands and placed it on the coffee table.

He then looked around, surveying the overall interior design of the living room twice.

Yiqin didn't rush to the kitchen. Wiping her hands on her apron with a smile on her face, she too wanted to hear what kind of critique Zhou Can would offer.

"Brother Cui, sister-in-law, I'm not very knowledgeable about aesthetics, so please don't take it to heart if I misspeak."

"Not at all, not at all, we just want to hear your truthful thoughts. You can't expect those business friends of mine to be honest; they just flatter incessantly,"

Mr. Cui waved his hand and said.

"Your Brother Cui always says the decoration lacks a certain flavor, but can't pinpoint the reason. He's genuinely seeking advice!"

Yiqin explained tily at the side.

"Then I'll speak my mind. When stepping into the living room, one doesn't feel classical elegance, but rather opulence and an overwhelming sense of luxury. Look at these floor tiles, aren't they beautiful? But their modern vibe is too strong. Then there's that large crystal chandelier, which, in conjunction with the floor tiles, gives off a sense of grandeur. But then you look at the furniture, the calligraphy and paintings on the walls, the retro window lattices, the carved dragon and phoenix columns – they all have a rich classical aura."

"Their combination seems more like a hodgepodge."

Zhou Can expressed so of his insights.

From a young age, he learned many specialties, including music, chess, calligraphy, painting – nearly excelling in all.

He could provide so basic aesthetic critique.

"Please, continue,"

Mr. Cui's expression was amusing, a mix of nervousness and that of a student attentively listening.

"Judging from the intense traditional character of the furniture, as well as the style of the walls and columns, I feel you're trying to create an atmosphere that is classic, impressive, and luxurious."

As soon as Zhou Can finished speaking, Mr. Cui nodded repeatedly.

"That's right, that's exactly what I've been thinking. Dr. Zhou really is an expert."

Mr. Cui initially did not hold much hope.

But after Zhou Can's series of critiques and even articulating his thoughts, Mr. Cui gained newfound respect for Zhou Can's aesthetic sense.

He looked forward to hearing more.

Yiqin also looked at Zhou Can with so surprise.

She hadn't expected this young man to not only possess high dical ethics but also an extrely high level of aesthetic appreciation.

"If Brother Cui truly wants to create such an environnt, it would likely require a major renovation. The floor would need to be covered with retro-style blue bricks, and that splendid crystal chandelier would need to be replaced. Perhaps with a classical, strongly atmospheric eight-scene lamp. Even the carvings should be changed to a more understated style of adornnt. Using dragons and phoenixes too much can co off as overly deliberate and vulgar. Perhaps engraving flowers and plants would add a touch of scholarly fragrance and elegance."

In ancient tis, all were considered inferior, only scholarship was held high.

Status and prestige were not shown by how much money one had, but by one's achievents, learning, and rank.

"To summarize in two phrases, it's 'prizing refinent over ostentation, valuing novelty and elegance over intricate but excessive ornantation.'"

After giving his critique, Zhou Can offered a conclusive summary.

Clap, clap, clap!

The sound of clapping ca from outside the door.

A man in his forties, with stubble on his face and dressed very casually.

He wore a pair of faded dark sports trousers and a white tank top over a sweatshirt.

His hair was ssy and long.

His eyes carried that unique confusion of a disenchanted youth.

Soone who could enter Mr. Cui's ho so freely must be no ordinary person.

"Mr. Li!"

Both Mr. and Mrs. Cui were very friendly and enthusiastic towards this man. Clearly, they were well-acquainted.

"I ran out of soy sauce at ho and ca here to borrow so. I didn't expect to overhear this young man's brilliant critique. I am truly astonished. Before entering, I thought Brother Cui had invited so master in his sixties or seventies to co over for design consultation."

Mr. Li highly praised Zhou Can's previous critique.

When looking at Zhou Can, it was with curiosity and, even more so, admiration.

The kind of admiration one has when eting a kindred spirit in an art or a companion in a drink.

"You flatter !"

Zhou Can, unaware of the man's identity, dared not to speak out of turn and simply responded with humble courtesy.
