Chapter 312: Chapter 155: It’s Really Him. A Hero Stops at Nothing _2

Director Wen let out a sigh.

When speaking of his son, there was both pride and helplessness.

“Haha, from what you’re saying, it seems only a matter of ti before you support your son’s career.”

After laughing, Director Xie bowed his head to taste his tea.

The mood had ward up nicely; it was ti to talk business.

“Director Wen, while reviewing the performance summary of our departnt today, I noticed you did quite a number of endoscopic surgeries last month!”

Wu Baihe took the lead in the conversation.

“Indeed, I did perform a few. There weren’t any issues, were there?”

Director Wen’s expression tensed up.

For a doctor, there’s nothing more worriso than patients running into problems during treatnt.

“No, no, don’t worry. The endoscopic surgeries you perford have very high satisfaction rates upon the patients’ discharge. And the success rate is one hundred percent. I’m sincerely happy for you to have made such great progress in the field of endoscopic surgery.”

Wu Baihe waved his hands and smiled.

“Haha, good to hear there were no issues. The two of you visited together and specifically ntioned endoscopic surgery; I was afraid sothing went wrong.” Director Wen heaved a great sigh of relief.

A one hundred percent success rate and extrely high patient satisfaction upon discharge—these two indicators filled Director Wen’s heart with joy and pride.

It’s a pity, though, most of the credit goes to that resident in training.

Director Wen was simply astute in recognizing talents, bold in his appointnts, and thus reaped a rich harvest.

You could also say he picked up a great bargain.

“Old Wen, I’m a straightforward person, so don’t take offense if I misspeak. I rember you didn’t have a talent for endoscopic surgery, did you? How did you make such trendous progress all of a sudden?”

Director Xie was indeed impatient.

He could rival Director Lou from the Ergency Departnt in that regard.

He wanted to know the answer right now.

“Hehe, you might not believe this if I tell you. Didn’t we have a new group of residents start in Neurosurgery last month? During a surgery, I accidentally discovered that one of the residents was particularly skilled at performing implant surgeries. So, I transferred him directly to my team, gave him significant autonomy, and focused on his training. That young man really lived up to expectations, he has taken care of most of the key parts of nearly all the endoscopic surgeries to date without a single mistake.”

Director Wen didn’t hide anything.

This wasn’t sothing that could be kept secret anyway; the two directors just needed to investigate a little, and they would find out.

By asking him directly, they showed trust as well as respect.

“A new resident in Neurosurgery?”

Director Xie’s mouth hung open in shock.

“That’s impossible! Even with a talent for endoscopic surgery, it must be based on traditional surgery experience. How could a resident complete so many complex Level 4 surgeries? That’s incredibly hard to believe.”

Wu Baihe also looked utterly astonished.

Both of them were surgical moguls who knew the difficulty of various surgeries like the back of their hand.

Endoscopic surgery requires even higher standards than traditional surgery.

“If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes or personally experienced it, I wouldn’t believe it either. That young man is just that outstanding. It’s undeniable, talent is extrely important. With such ease, he has achieved what many chief surgeons could only dream of. Given ti, it’s hard to imagine what he could accomplish. I dare say, that young man will definitely be able to lead Tu Ya to climb at least one major step.”

Director Wen had a very high evaluation of Zhou Can.

Actually, this was still an understatent.

With Zhou Can’s potential, it was possible for him to beco one of the top doctors in China or even the world.

He might even beco a groundbreaking figure in dicine.

“Who is this resident? His surna wouldn’t happen to be Zhou, would it?”

Director Xie’s mind involuntarily flashed with an image of a young, defiant figure.

That day in his large director’s office, that resident had given him quite the lesson.

“Is it Director Xie’s prior research or sheer clairvoyance?”

Director Wen asked with a smile.

“Neither!”

Director Xie quickly clarified.

“Sigh, to tell you the truth, I’ve been noticing this resident nad Zhou Can since he first joined the Ergency Departnt. Director Wu, you must have a fresh mory of that young man from when we together consulted in Neurosurgery, right?”

Director Xie’s facial expression and tone were extrely complex when ntioning Zhou Can.

At the ti of selecting residents, he originally had the privilege of choosing first and had the opportunity to pick Zhou Can for the surgical departnt.

Considering Zhou Can’s lower educational background and not the strongest surgical ability, Director Xie wasn’t optimistic about him back then.

Instead, he decisively selected the academically brilliant Du Leng.

A mont’s decision, yet he missed out on a superstar talent.

Looking back, Director Xie did have regrets.

But given another chance, he would probably still prioritize Du Leng.

This is like n choosing wives; they would rather have a beautiful vase at ho to admire than marry an ugly woman with talent and capability.

After Du Leng joined surgery, he perford extrely well.

Especially in terms of dical knowledge, sotis even the chief surgeons in the departnt couldn’t match him.

In just over half a year, Du Leng had already published two SCI dical papers.

Although they were only in the second quartile and had lower impact factor scores, the prestige of SCI as a top interdisciplinary journal spoke for itself. This achievent was already dazzling.

“So it’s him! I never expected not only does he have outstanding diagnostic abilities, but also first-rate talent in both endoscopic and traditional surgeries. For such a prodigy, I think we shouldn’t be hidebound about his undergraduate degree any longer.”

Upon learning the resident was Zhou Can, Wu Baihe felt both surprised and as if it made sense.
