"A love letter?"
Chen Yuan scrambled up from the sofa. He completely lost interest in watching the Gala, even though it had only just finished the opening ceremony. He instantly perked up.
Chen Yuan was no stranger to love letters. He'd received a great many of them.
Back in middle school, girls experiencing their first crushes would often write love letters and ask his friends or female classmates to pass them to him. Sotis, he'd co back from the restroom to find a few classmates huddled around his desk,
staring blankly at a pink envelope.
Girls develop earlier than boys in many ways, especially when it cos to feelings. Back then, Chen Yuan had no idea what being in a relationship was all about, so naturally, he paid no mind to those childish love letters.
In high school, he received even more love letters. However, compared to the "I like you" or "Be my boyfriend, let's be together forever" type of ssages, the girls' confessions from this period were a bit more mature. They would talk about life, their views on love, or what specific things they liked about Chen Yuan. Out of politeness, if he ca across a particularly sincere one, Chen Yuan would even write back, rejecting them in a relatively gentle way.
From the surprise of receiving his first love letter at thirteen to having a basket full of them in high school, Chen Yuan had grown completely unfazed by them.
But upon hearing Jiangg Yao ntion it, he suddenly felt his heart begin to pound.
'But that's a love letter from Yaoyao!'
Chen Yuan was instantly filled with anticipation. He crossed the distance from the living room to his bedroom in a few quick strides and even locked the door behind him.
"The box... Where's the box?"
After a flurry of RUSTLING as he rummaged through his drawers, he found that strange box ant for the sexy outfit. He opened the light, empty box and saw that, sure enough, it had a false bottom.
He lifted the panel of the false bottom.
A sealed letter ca into view.
Compared to the love letters he'd seen before, this one didn't look much different. It was sealed with a heart-shaped clasp, and the pink stationery was covered in girly patterns. There was even an ani-style bunny girl in the bottom-right corner.
Yet, Chen Yuan found the ordinary-looking letter utterly adorable. It was probably a side effect of being in love; everything his girlfriend gave him seed cute.
He carefully opened the letter and took out a long, folded stack of paper from within.
The next mont, his eyes were filled with elegant, neat handwriting.
'I didn't expect Jiangg Yao's handwriting to be so pretty. Every stroke was written with such care. At the very top, there were even a few words written in the standard opening for a letter.'
"To my dearest Young Master."
Chen Yuan composed himself and began to read the contents of the love letter.
To my dearest Young Master:
Hehe... Young Master, did the box I deliberately picked out give you a scare? I knew it would! I can just imagine how priceless your expression must have been when you opened the package.
To be honest, I really did buy that outfit~ It's just that I can't show it to you just yet. A little while ago, I noticed I'd gained another layer of flab on my tummy, so the outfit doesn't look as good. That's why I gave up on the idea of giving you a "special treat." Don't be too disappointed, though. Once I lose a little weight and my figure is perfect again, I'll definitely find a chance to let you feast your eyes.
I'm getting a little embarrassed... Let's not talk about that for now. Writing a love letter is serious business, so I should be a bit more serious as I write.

Okay, from now on, this is the official start of the love letter.
To be honest, Young Master... this is the first ti I've ever written a love letter to anyone. I have so much I want to say, but now that I'm actually putting pen to paper, I don't know the best place to start. If we were face-to-face, I think I could probably ramble on and on with you for a whole afternoon. At first, I didn't plan on talking to you like this. But after you left Lanjing, I found myself feeling incredibly sentintal this afternoon. After spacing out for a few hours, images of our ti together kept floating through my mind.
That's when I realized I had so much to say. But you're not in Lanjing anymore, and I was afraid I'd annoy you by being too long-winded in our chats. So, I picked the quietest ti of day and sat down at my desk.
Do you rember when I confessed to you?
It was right after a weekend had passed. You had just co back from a trip to your hotown. We stayed up playing gas until one in the morning, happy but exhausted. I playfully insisted that you call , saying I had sothing important to tell you. In reality, I didn't have anything important to say; it was just an excuse to talk to you and hear your voice again. That's why I started stamring when you asked what was up. During that ti, I think you could sense it. We both knew what was in each other's hearts.
But we were still caught in that scary, exciting ambiguity, unable to pull ourselves away.
I kept testing the waters, again and again, dropping what I pretended were unintentional hints. I was so desperate to know what you were really thinking, but I hesitated, too scared to bring it all out into the open.
Thinking back now, from that weekend on, you completely occupied my thoughts. I still didn't know what you looked like, how old you were, what city you lived in, or whether you'd ever accept a girl you t online who kept testing your feelings... but I confessed anyway.
I rember the day you said yes to so clearly... I was on a voice call with you, ranting about the girl the enemy marksman was carrying. I said I hated how she was flaunting power that wasn't even hers. You just casually brushed it off, saying sothing like it was easy to find guys like that, that you could just ssage anyone in the public ga chat.
