"Is he gone?"
Jiangg Yao pushed the door open and peeked through the crack into the living room.
"He left. He probably went to that company where he’s working part-ti."
Jiangg Ning reached out, pulled her younger sister out of the other bedroom, and told her she didn’t have to hide anymore.
The two identical sisters, with nearly indistinguishable figures, stood together, looking at each other. This... this was the truly cruel truth. Chen Yuan had never considered such a possibility. Or rather, he could never have predicted his relationship would take such a bizarre turn.
It was impossible to imagine the look on his face when he found out.
It all started with that sinful online romance. By the ti sumr arrived after the coming spring, it would have been a full year. Now he was in deeper than ever. Aside from not having had sex, they had done everything else—and he had done it with two different people.
This was a dual betrayal of his ideal of pure love, both physical and spiritual. He had not only betrayed his own heart but had also offered his body to two flippant devils.

And it was true. Jiangg Ning was exceptionally wealthy. The money Yaoyao earned was like a single hair on a herd of nine oxen compared to what her sister had. Although Jiangg Ruxue’s character wasn’t the best, she was very committed to the idea of raising her daughters in luxury, giving both sisters a huge allowance every month. Jiangg Yao took her sister’s hand and whined pitifully.
She was wearing a plain white T-shirt and shorts, and Ningning was dressed identically. Standing together, they were truly indistinguishable. If Yaoyao didn’t intentionally affect a cutesier tone, even their voices would probably be ninety-nine percent similar.

Chen Yuan held a pen, sat in the luxurious office chair, and casually tore a few pages from a notebook, writing sothing down.
There were so many things he wanted to say to Jiangg.
He worried that if they were face-to-face, he wouldn’t be able to express himself completely—not his confusion, not his thoughts, none of it. After finally finding such a sweet romance, Chen Yuan didn’t want to ruin everything just because of this one deception.
He wanted to ask why she had told this lie.
He wanted to say that they could have discussed many things and solved problems together. They were both adults; he wouldn’t throw childish tantrums anymore and would do his best to understand her difficulties.
He wanted to say that he could feel their mutual affection, but that everyone feels things differently and is in a different situation. Even as a couple, it’s impossible to completely put yourself in the other’s shoes and share their burdens.
