"Bang!"
"Bang!"
Two bullets shot out from the gun barrel, heading straight for the rcenaries in the trees.
Even with silencers, the deadly sound was clearly heard.
Ye Fan fired, two successive shots aid at two targets.
Accompanied by two muffled grunts, two rcenaries fell from the trees, crashing one after another into the underbrush.
One corpse broke through the bushes and landed on the thick leaves below, while another was caught on the thorns.
"The target is under the tree, blow him up, hurry up and blow him up," the last remaining rcenary in the tree called for reinforcents, the voice transmitting through the earpiece to the companions hidden in other locations.
He aid his gun at Ye Fan’s position but didn’t fire, unsure of Ye Fan’s exact location.
Ye Fan hid behind the large tree, giving the rcenary a certain amount of pressure. Having witnessed Ye Fan’s precise shooting, he was more than a little afraid; if Ye Fan had targeted him earlier, he would have been the corpse.
The reason he’s still alive now is purely due to luck.
Just as this rcenary spotted the target’s silhouette and prepared to shoot, a bullet enlarged in his eyes.
With a soft thud, the bullet pierced through his forehead, spraying a burst of blood as he fell from the tree.
Ye Fan quickly, steadily, and fiercely took out the threat in the tree with one shot.
At this mont, as the corpse was falling, the attack the rcenary had requested ca, with two grenades flying from the jungle thirty or forty ters away, heading for the base of the tree.
Seeing the grenades hurtling toward him, Ye Fan leaped and rolled to hide in a safe place.
"Dodge!" Zhang Lu’s warning echoed in his ear.
The grenades exploded.
One grenade upheaved the rich, black earth.
A mont later, Ye Fan regrouped with Zhang Lu.
The three teams set off again.
Eliminating three rcenaries took a considerable amount of ti and effort compared to taking out an eleven-man recon team, but this was the enemy’s intended mode of combat, avoiding direct confrontation and strategic engagent in a step-by-step approach to deal with enemies.
Silent sniper bullets raced through the forest; once a target was identified, Ye Fan and his companions would shoot.
Each bullet that left the barrel ant the death of a rcenary.
Ti ticked by minute by minute.
Half an hour later, Ye Fan and his team had taken out nine rcenaries.
rcenaries blocking their path fell one by one.
A bullet pierced the chest of a rcenary about to throw a grenade, killing him, and the grenade exploded beside the corpse.
In the thorny underbrush, the bodies of fallen rcenaries lay silently.
rcenaries died quietly in the valley.
On the slopes, the bodies of dead rcenaries rolled down.
Following Black Shark’s orders, Mahavi’s ambush gradually fell apart, the rcenaries blocking Ye Fan’s seven-man team only managed to delay them for a while without inflicting any harm.
Though the advance of Ye Fan’s team was slowed down, they displayed astounding combat prowess in the face of the rcenaries’ traps, using sniper rifles to take the lives of rcenaries one by one, dismantling the so-called ambush.
...
Inside the cave where Black Shark was, his face was terrifyingly grim.
Mahavi reported the situation to Black Shark, listening to news of his n dying continuously while the enemy remained unscathed, Black Shark felt the urge to kill rising.
"Seven people, they are only seven, we’ve lost more than twenty people without even scratching them. We were hiding, waiting for the enemy to co into our sights, yet despite that, the enemy found our hiding place, while we keep dying and haven’t managed to eliminate even one of them."
"Useless, a bunch of damned useless fools."
"Where did all their bravado go? Now they’re powerless against seven people."
"Damn it, damn it."
"We are supposed to be the elites in jungle warfare, the kings of the forest."
Black Shark was furious, his eyes venomous.
eting such tough problems made his anger boil over.
For Ye Fan and his team, dealing with the enemies blocking their path was extrely troubleso, causing significant stress.
But for Black Shark, Ye Fan’s team was too formidable, even the usually strong rcenaries were rendered helpless, leaving him incredibly frustrated.
"Master Black Shark, the enemy are snipers, a single shot can take one of us out; after firing, they relocate. Once our n are exposed, they beco sitting targets. Even if not exposed, the enemy tries to lure us out and kill us one by one. Even with the advantage, the enemy’s ability to sense danger is frightening, like beasts in the forest, reacting to any whiff of danger, leaving our n with no room to retaliate," Mahavi said in defeat.
"We are supposed to be the beasts in the forest, which is why such advantages should be under our watch, but things have reversed," Black Shark said with a bitter smile. "We’ve always been the hunters, and even formidable enemies have to pay dearly when they face us. What’s happening this ti? Is this damned so-called Peng Bird really this formidable?"
"Yes, very formidable, definitely not ordinary enemies," Mahavi said, bowing his head.
"If it cos to close combat, we’d be several levels below them; even if we all rush in, we can’t handle seven enemies in lee. I anticipated that. But we were hidden, the ambush ready, waiting for the enemy to fall into our sights, yet we still can’t prevail, just useless fools good for nothing but bullying the weak and crumbling before true experts," Black Shark ranted.
Beyond realizing the enemy’s strength and numbers, they achieved nothing despite the heavy sacrifices. Not a single hair was hard on the enemy.
"The problem is, the enemy is unreasonably strong, not that we are incompetent," Mahavi said.
Black Shark glared at Mahavi dissatisfied, then inquired, "Where are our snipers?"
"They are all ambushed around the three bodies, waiting for them to take the bait," Mahavi replied.
"Ahead, Peng Bird is our main enemy. Gather all snipers and personnel, focus entirely on Peng Bird," Black Shark commanded.
