“If I rember correctly, you have claws like that too, but I’ve never seen you use them when we spar?”
“Those co from the bloodline gifted by Master Morphy, a reward he bestows upon those loyal to him.”
Maxim explained in an obvious manner:
“The Dark Night Claws are powerful, but I haven’t learned how to use them properly.
Besides, we’re sparring, not fighting for our lives; there’s no need to use sothing that could easily take a life if I’m not careful.”
“You’ve been holding back all along?”
Lady Rennesia said with an irritated stance:
“Do you need to give an advantage?
You cunning Transylvanian Barbarian, next ti we spar, I want to experience the might of Blood Vulture’s claws…”
“Alright, if you’re not afraid of the pain.”
Maxim shrugged and turned his attention back to the fighting ring.
The Valande Knight continued to launch ferocious attacks with his explosive and devastating Beast Fist techniques, but against Morphy’s assassin-style combat, which was like a ghost darting back and forth, he was clearly at a disadvantage.
However, this didn’t an that the Valande Knight was inferior in close-quarters combat.
After all, there was a considerable rank difference between them, and even with differences in skill, this should not result in the current one-sided situation.
The real problem was the Purify Psychic Power wrapped around Morphy’s claws, which had worked a big number on the Grey Vulture Knight the first ti they struck.

The only silver lining was that the Grey Vulture Knight had only been in contact with the Holy Grail, not directly faced with the Subspace Shadows, aning he was not suppressed by the Oga antivirus program as much as the previous four unlucky Chaos swordsn were.
Those four couldn’t even resist in the face of an “overpowered” Morphy.
Actually, upon reflection, that Oga antivirus program is really buggy.
Even during the fight against Salockdale, it allowed Morphy to easily break through the defenses of a Gold Stage adversary, and now to deal with a newly-promoted Grail Knight, wasn’t having a hand more than enough?

In the final monts of the tensely fought battle that had turned the entire arena into chaos, Morphy leaped out from the drifting fog, climbing like an agile monkey onto the Grey Vulture Knight’s back.

As the defense-ignoring Dark Night Claws penetrated the flesh, the Grey Vulture Knight let out a painful cry, his towering figure collapsing half-kneeling to the ground like a crumbling edifice.
The dissonant calm in his eyes was completely shattered, making this brutal man curse in pain at that mont,
“Damn Avalon’s big feet!

He extended his hand, and a scattering of light flickered in his palm.
He spoke to Morphy,
“Take a look, I think you need to see it.
Avalon has shown the secrets of the Holy Grail, and He wants you to know even more.”
