Sir Morphy actually issued a cybernetic wife?
“Rushing River Knights!
With a grieving heart, I declare unto you a tragic event; just one hour ago, our 24th Hunter Squad, dispatched to search for refugees, was ambushed on the way back to camp by jackal and wolf bandits.
Led by Paladin Julio, the five-mber squad fought resolutely and bravely to protect the civilians, ultimately losing three of their number but managing to repel the bandits.
Despite the victory being hard-fought and glorious, it is indeed a terrible loss.”
At a large campsite in the Westerly Territory, the Honorary Knight Tepar stood on a wooden crate, sadly announcing this dreadful news to the twenty well-trained RP Party “Holy Knights” before him.
Although these fellows are neither sacred nor knights and are far from well-trained, the sight of them standing in uniformly dyed recruit chainmail was quite intimidating.
As Tepar conveyed this “terrible” news to the knights, the surrounding refugees sifted by them also showed signs of sorrow.
They had no idea that players rely needed three days to resurrect after dying; they were simply mourning the brave souls who died protecting them on the way to Crimson Castle.
However, Tepar’s voice then suddenly rose.
With an excited and sonorous tone, he shouted:
“However, we must not overlook the fact that the two remaining mbers of the heroic 24th Hunter Squad still completed their mission!
They safely escorted seventeen holess refugees to our camp, giving the innocent a chance to start a new life.
This embodies the creed of the Rushing River Knights Group and is also the will of the Holy Light, inspiring our warriors to never retreat and never abandon their duty, even in the face of despair!
Let us give a round of applause to celebrate our knights!”
“Clap clap clap”
The scattered applause rose as two young players who had survived the encounter approached solemnly, raising their fists and pounding their chest armor in front of everyone, while the surrounding NPCs expressed their respect for the young knights with great reverence.
This scene looked quite proper; however, many people in the crowd were whispering complaints.
“I an, if Old Hu and his four brothers had spent so ti mastering their swordsmanship, they wouldn’t have been reduced to just two after facing an equal number of jackal people.
Those weren’t Elite Jackal n, just regular bandits, and they attacked out of extre hunger, too.
After a large-scale crackdown on bandits, the local Jackal People wouldn’t dare cause trouble unless they were starving to death.”
“Magic Master Marlene” from the Rushing River Knights Group whispered to his companion, “Ranger Leader Patton,” who was half-heartedly clapping nearby:
“The whole incident is too embarrassing to even talk about.
Luckily, the NPCs didn’t witness the actual scene.”
“What can you do?
Old Hu is hell-bent on playing an administrative role, and when told to practice his swordsmanship, he just complains of back pain.
What back pain?
It’s not like this is real life.”
Ranger Leader Patton was equally dismissive of the day’s events, complaining:
“Besides, I certainly agree this damn ga’s tech is second to none, but could the developers not make the NPC personalities so realistic?
I went to pee by the river earlier and bumped into a few won washing themselves.
Before I could even zip up, they started screaming, leaving in an awkward position both inside and out.
Fuck, now every female NPC looks at weirdly.
But I swear it wasn’t on purpose…”
“What are you two yamring about over there?
We’re paying homage to our fallen comrades, can’t you be a bit more serious?”
Elder Tepar glared, barking a reprimand, forcing Marlene and Patton, caught red-handed, to honestly accept fault.
Once Tepar’s gaze turned away, Marlene continued to grumble:
“Homage to what?
They’ll be alive in three days anyway.
No offense, but Old Tepar’s obsession is getting more troubleso by the day.
I think he’s becoming too much like Uncle Ferdin.
No, he’s not even as good as Uncle Ferdin.
At least Uncle Ferdin has a wife who puts up with his quirks.”
Patton just shrugged his shoulders, without any further comnt.
A few minutes later, the RP Party’s morial service concluded, and the group escorted nearly 400 refugees they had screened towards Morlan Village, accompanied by four young Highlander Guides.
This search team was able to find so many refugees in just three days thanks to the guidance of the Guides from the Ancestor Woods, and while hiring each of them cost ten Gold Coins, the difference they made to the mission was night and day!
Since “Galaxy Puncher” exposed this thod on the forum, more than thirty guides from the Ancestor Woods had been hired in just a few days.
Blessed by the Spirit of the Mountain Woods, Highlanders were keenly aware of the goings-on in the Westerly Territory’s plains and woodlands.
Where refugees were hiding amidst the grasslands and woodlands was no secret to them, and while the Highlanders were happy to help for free, Count Shuren had specifically instructed all the Elders, before she left, to insist on being paid for their services!
She said that Sir Morphy’s Warriors honored fair trade, and that not taking money would leave them feeling uneasy.
Indeed, when the Highlanders stutteringly explained that hiring a Guide cost money, the Warriors were more than willing to pay up swiftly.
