Detective Old Chen’s Unexpected Discovery_3 1498: 504.
Detective Old Chen’s Unexpected Discovery_3 The Pallian Sisters were sorting these samples with specially made boxes on the side, preparing to take them back to the Stonemason Brotherhood for detailed analysis and research.
“Wow, this ore is so beautiful!”
Lumina leaned over for a look, and imdiately exclaid:
“It’s like a diamond!
What’s with these glowing crystals?
Does Transylvania have such natural minerals?”
Little Wei Ming also reached out and took a small piece of ore from the sister’s box and held it up to her eyes.
She could see crystal clusters that were hard to describe embedded within the broken stone, not looking like associated minerals but rather like they “grew” directly inside the stone.
But indeed, they were beautiful.
As Little Wei Ming’s fingers turned it, the stone cast out peculiar sparkles of light.
Old Chen didn’t respond.
He continued to seriously chip away at the ore in the dug-out pit in front of him with his pickaxe, while a few veteran Witch Hunters who had seen all sorts of minerals during the ten-year war discussed quietly among themselves; they had never seen anything like it.
“This is not a local deposit from Transylvania, I’m sure of it!”
Old Chen took several minutes to break and collect a whole piece of the strange ore from the pit, wiped the sweat from his forehead, turned to Little Wei Ming and Lumina, and said:
“When I previously did territorial planning, I surveyed several mining areas in Transylvania.
There aren’t many rare minerals locally, not to ntion these unique ores that look so exceptional from their appearance alone.
I guess this might be so kind of peculiar transformation caused by the rift’s long-term contact with the energy from the Star Realm.”
“Ah?
You an, Professor Chen, these ores are newly grown?”
Little Wei Ming exclaid:
“How can that be possible?”
“It won’t be possible where we are from, but it might not be the case here.
Spiritual Energy truly is an indescribable and unique catalyst.”
Old Chen stood up, looked at the sample pit underneath his feet that had been filled in again, and said:
“This unique energy can almost entangle with any item in the material world.
I previously heard a term from Mother Mary Ann called ‘Spiritual Energy Erosion’; perhaps these ores are a unique manifestation of Spiritual Energy Erosion.
However, the uses of these minerals are not known for now, I will call a few wandering scholars over,
they are students from the geology departnt, perhaps they might notice sothing.”
“But you also have a Ph.D.
in geology, right?”
Lumina asked with a blink:
“They can see what you can see.”
“Yes, I can study it.”
Old Chen touched the Han Sword hanging from his waist, showed a subtle smile to Lumina, and said:
“But if I did all the work, would it be fair for these kids just to have fun in the ga?
Although they aren’t my students, if they don’t get their hands on research like this now, they would be helpless when they really need the experience later, right?
You can now play gas even in your sleep, gaining an extra eight or nine hours a day.
Young people should not always think about having fun; making effective use of their ti is also a very admirable quality.
Speaking of which, Lumi, you are a postgraduate Overseas Returnee from a prestigious university, how about you join too?”
“Uh, I still have a part-ti job in Mrs.
Triss’s laboratory.”
Lumina imdiately waved her hand and declined:
“I really ca here for fun, not to study abroad in another world.
Please let go.
I really don’t know much about geology.”
“But you are very good at crystallography, right?”
Old Chen squinted his eyes and said:
“Co on, you, don’t even think about running away.
A mind full of knowledge has to be put to good use, right?
Otherwise, it would just be knowledge without being transford into wisdom.
Little Wei Ming, co too!
You haven’t even finished high school.
Maybe it’s ti to make up for your educational regrets in the ga.”
“But I have no regrets at all!
I have a master’s degree through distance education, Professor!”
Little Wei Ming’s wail could be heard far and wide.
She had planned to go hunting in the afternoon, but, disheartened, Old Chen dragged her back to the Stonemason Association’s city office.
Old Chen intended to imdiately study the properties of this peculiar mineral, but upon entering, he saw a Dust Beater chatting with a dwarf dressed in a Gaia Priest’s robe.
When Old Chen entered, the Dust Beater imdiately stood up to introduce His Excellency Ilich Uhm, Battle Heart.
Upon hearing that the other party was a bona fide architect of the Gaia Temple, Old Chen’s interest was piqued, and he eagerly went forward to converse.
Little Wei Ming and Lumina, who had been drafted to help, exchanged glances and imdiately started their “escape plan.”
They placed the box Old Chen used to hold mineral fragnts on the table and planned to make a run for it.
In haste, Little Wei Ming made a mistake and didn’t lock the box; as they got up, the samples in the box spilled out onto the floor.
Gleaming with a peculiar lustre, the mineral fragnts scattered all over the ground.
Old Chen got up restlessly, intending to clean up, but the Silver Dwarf opposite him stood up in shock upon seeing the fragnts on the floor.
Master Irich’s eyes bulged as if he had seen sothing shocking and cried out in utter astonishnt:
“Burning Gold Ores!
You…
where did you get these from?
There is such a thing in Transylvania…”
The Old Dwarf reacted swiftly.
Realizing he had said sothing he shouldn’t have, he imdiately covered his mouth, but the gesture was too little too late.
The entire room fell into an eerie silence.
The next mont, everyone’s gaze shifted to the ore Little Wei Ming had accidentally spilled on the floor.
Were these stones the legendary Burning Gold?
Incredible!
—
*Bang*
Murphy, who had just returned to the Blood Vulture Corridor intending to apologize to a still-sulky Triss, suddenly stood up from his chair.
He wasn’t monitoring his little players all the ti, but he did set “keywords” in the link between the Core Bead and the Calculating Pearl.
“Burning Gold” was one of them.
In the Stonemason Association’s office, when Silver Dwarf Irich cried out “Burning Gold,” it was imdiately captured by the Calculating Pearls of several people around him, and the information was almost simultaneously transmitted to Murphy’s Core Bead.
“Burning Gold has been discovered in Transylvania?”
The Vampire Governor’s complexion changed drastically.
He hurriedly left his office without even changing his clothes, and pushed open the door to Triss’s office, only to see the Blood Vulture Duke sitting in his chair, drinking sullenly with a look of distress.
Upon Murphy’s entrance, Triss’s eyes widened, and she slamd the table, saying:
“Out!
You little rascal…”
“There’s trouble, Triss.
Now’s not the ti to be in a huff.”
Murphy stepped forward to pull the drunken Triss to her feet, dragging her out as he said:
“Professor Chen has discovered Burning Gold Ores in the city…”
“You must be joking!”
Triss shook off Murphy’s hand, dissatisfied and said:
“Even I, a Vampire who has traveled the Continent, don’t know what Burning Gold Ores look like!
The Dwarves guard those things as if their life depends on it.
What enters the market are all processed at least three tis; either as Burning Gold Powder or liquid.
Besides the senior miners among the Dwarves, no one has ever seen the real Burning Gold Ores.
They regard it as forbidden knowledge.”
“But Master Irich has confird that the ore dug up by Old Chen in the city chasm is Burning Gold!
While I don’t know why Burning Gold is found beneath the city, at least I know this stuff doesn’t appear alone.
This ans we have a Burngold Vein right beneath our feet!
We struck it rich, Triss!”
