Chapter 1597: 536. Governor’s New Frontier·Ah! How did I suddenly get an enclave?_3
Just as Adel had said, Lisa’s position as leader should have originally belonged to her. During the twenty years Adel was missing, the elders chose Lisa rely because the valley needed a figurehead. It wasn’t because Lisa truly t their expectations.
These gladiator-born fellows held incredibly high standards for a leader.
However, Adel had no intention of taking away sothing her childhood friend yearned for. Not to ntion that Bella and Bernice were elders—figures she viewed as parents—she didn’t want to cause them any sadness. Besides, wasn’t it better to beco the superior of these individuals rather than rely a half-elf figurehead?
As Adel stepped out of the Elder Hall in Shadow Valley, she turned back to look at the familiar yet estranged scenery behind her. In this place where she had grown up, she couldn’t feel even a sliver of warmth.
This left E Sister feeling sowhat desolate and lost.
This was her hotown, but it was no longer her ho.
As for another reason why she declined the leadership role—that was sothing she couldn’t share with others.
“Master Murphy…”
Lady Adel pulled up her mask and softly said:
“The task you assigned is complete. Will you feel proud of for this?”
—
“The diplomatic interactions between the special territory ‘Shadow Valley’ and the main body of Transylvania have concluded! With the efforts of Ms. Adel, the head of the Shadow Intelligence Bureau, the process for Shadow Valley’s integration into Transylvania has begun!
Current integration progress: [0/3]!
Notice!
The location of Shadow Valley is situated outside of Transylvania’s current owned territories and has been marked as an ‘enclave.’ In order to bring it into the dominion’s map, the administrator must first secure full control over the ‘Polluted Swamp’ and ‘Baphot Canyon.’
However, the territory already ets the necessary conditions for governance. Once the integration process is complete, the territory will be designated as ‘Outpost No. 004.’
The administrator may delegate it to a designated faction.”
While Murphy was indulging in the damned joy of maze-exploration in the Underground Palace of the Goat n in Baphot Canyon, a sudden notification halted his slow slash through Goat n for a few seconds.
This pause imdiately gave the brutal Goat Man thugs surrounding him an opening. These Black Iron Rank scoundrels howled, raising their rusty war blades to hack at Murphy, only to be forced back with ease when the vampire drew his lt Sword from his waist and executed a flawless eight-direction night battle counter.
The crystal-like blade shimred with blinding red-orange heat. With just three swings, Murphy reduced the horde of charging Goat Man thugs to mangled remains, flesh and weaponry alike dismbered and scattered on the ground.
The searing wounds barely oozed any blood.
The ferocity of the attack left the remaining Goat n, who had been eager to strike, frozen in their tracks. But George, now in a frenzy, leaped at them, sending the terror-stricken thugs wailing and running for their lives. Turning a corner in this labyrinth only they could navigate, they disappeared without a trace.
The battlefield, which had been bustling with shouts just a mont ago, quickly grew silent.
“Adel is this impressive, huh?”
Murphy deactivated the lt Sword and paused montarily in the dim expanse to rest. Staring at the notification on his character card, he hadn’t expected that even with Lady Mona’s aura as a support, Adel would require significant ti to reintegrate into her holand after thirty-so years.
Yet, Adel had accomplished the integration of Shadow Valley in a single night.
Though it was true that the arrival of the Black Disaster had provided a powerful boost, could you deny the operational efficiency of E Sister’s actions?
Hmm, was it just his imagination… or had the usually laid-back and publicity-shy Adel seed driven this ti? As though she had beco a hidden blade, a rose-thorn sword unsheathed to draw blood with a re wave.
“Was Adel’s astonishing drive born from finally finding her life’s purpose after being freed from the Blood Covenant’s distortion of emotions?”
Murphy rubbed his chin as he hefted his staff-sword and wandered further into the accursed Great Labyrinth, with George the alpha wolf at his side. He thought:
“The Blood Covenant truly is a custom that deserves abolition!
Just look at Adel’s transformation—it speaks volus. That so-called dark covenant, which promises loyalty, offers no real power. It’s a decayed net that twists warriors into monsters, reduces heroes to cowards. That thing is nothing but a shackle obstructing the progress of vampire civilization.
If I were to abolish this barbaric tradition across the entire Blood Vulture Clan, wouldn’t Triss absolutely support ? Even Lord Paryen might agree.
Adel’s teoric rise proves everything.
Heh, if I ever gain real authority in vampire civilization, I will definitely… Hmm? What’s that sound ahead? It sounds like… a woman praying? A woman? Praying? In this cursed place?
Hiss…
Am I about to encounter so paranormal phenonon?”
