Biqi was showing a rare mont of clarity.
She sat beside Liwen Kiss with a worried expression, stroking her long hair while saying:

The sickly Liwen imdiately perked up.
But before the two close friends could rise, Biqi saw the four Family Guardians outside the door walk back in.
Behind them was an old gentleman in a butler’s tailcoat, masked with an obscure aura, and a mysterious middle-aged man in a cloak holding a cane.
Upon seeing these two, Biqi jumped up like a startled cat.
She took on the most fitting posture, bending forward in a bow and said:
“Count Leon, how do you…”
“My only son is right here! And you swore to you would protect him, Miss Biqi, is this how you fulfill that vow?”
The cloaked Count Leon was evidently seething, for the gentleman fad in Goldenrod Kingdom for his deanor, was uncharacteristically intimidating.
But before Biqi could ponder over how to respond, a low voice bood from behind the crowd:
“It’s not the Cape Family’s place to lecture my granddaughter on how to do things! The foreign count really throws his weight around, doesn’t he?”
“Grandfather!”
Biqi saw Kuder walk over with a cold face, imdiately feeling as if she saw a savior, and the Baron of Hunting in Transylvania glanced at the old butler beside Count Leon, snorted, and said:
“As a father, you should feel honored by the great victory your son achieved last night! He returned from the brink of death, almost single-handedly extending the fa of that Sun King of the Goldenrod Kingdom to the Black Disaster’s battlefield.
The banner of King Louis flying over that triumph is owed to Fraser’s bravery and fearlessness.
He is a true man!
In my eyes, he is more suited to becoming the head of the Cape Family than you, ‘Blackfoot Fox’ Leon, your father always wanted an heir as outstanding and courageous as Fraser.

This peculiar nickna caused a change in Count Leon’s expression underneath his hood; it was his nickna among nobles in his younger days, not a complintary one, but a derogatory term used to describe his cunning and malice.
Yet by now, no one dared to use that term for him anymore.
“Humph”
Count Leon had no interest in arguing with an old ghost dead for over a hundred years and pushed past the hospital room door, leaving others outside.
The masked old butler then surveyed Kuder up and down, rasping:
“Nantes Ranger… truly astonishing, everyone said you were dead.”
“Then you must be quite pleased, Huge.”
Lord Kuder couldn’t be bothered with this ‘old acquaintance,’ saying:
“I imagined countless fates for a thief like you, but never one where you’d willingly beco a lapdog for the nobles. I must have been blind when I recruited you into my crew. The things I left for my son never reached his hands, but I warn you, I want to see those items I entrusted to you in my final monts within seven days.
If you can’t recover them, I’ll need to discuss ‘principles’ with you again.”
“Hehe, as per your request, I hid them well, my ‘captain.'”
The old butler chuckled, saying:
“I am not as cunning and insidious as you think, only your son is unqualified to inherit your legacy, but your granddaughter is splendid, already showing so of your grace from back then, I will hand over that ‘Knight’s Legacy’ as promised.

“Get lost, don’t let see you again, bad luck.”
Kuder waved his hand dismissively, the mocked old butler shrugged, quietly moving to the end of the corridor with the four Cape Guards.
After they left, Kuder used phonetic simile to speak to his granddaughter:
“Stay away from that old rascal Huge, he was once my thief companion, sohow broke into the Gold Stage, in my dying monts I left so things for your father, but he certainly pocketed them.
Yet as long as he and I are around, those things will eventually fall into your hands.
Do not worry about Cape Family’s retaliation, they owe a favor.

Biqi whispered:
“Count Leon has never been a forgiving man, the family business might…”
